The biggest downgrade is the manager. Man for man I don't think there's much in it. Alebiosu offers something different to Brittain (not as good on the ball, but far better defensively). McLoughlin seems solid. Miller is going to become a cult hero. Tavares looks like he has something about him. The problem with the first XI is that we lost a poor RW and simply haven't replaced him.

I'm not saying they're biased against us - I'm saying we seem to get a shitload of awful decisions against us. Why was the Laird dive a penalty, but the trip on Ohashi wasn't? Why are they allowed to throw Ohashi around, but when Gueye gives some back it's a foul? I just want consistency.

I thought Ohashi was kicked to the ground twice early - and then wrestled to the ground for the rest of the match. I'm perfectly fine with the latter if they let Gueye use his strength against defenders - they don't. It's having a pair of eyes, not confirmation bias.

Their GK pulled off a worldie from Gueye and Hyam decided to head across goal rather than into the back of the net with a free header. We created enough today.
