  1. Thankfully WBA have a crap manager.
  2. I suspect both - and also played as a defensive winger himself. That's essentially what Hedges is anyway.
  3. Dennis is a better player than Armstrong. Kargbo destroyed Serie C, he's been ok in Serie B.
  4. Technically he asked for 3 players that would come in and raise the standards - players that the rest of the squad would appreciate as being quality additions.
  5. The league was this poor a couple of years ago - it goes in cycles based on the quality of the parachute payment clubs. Sheffield United, Burnley and Luton all got BATTERED in the Premier League last year.
  6. I think Kargbo and Dennis walk straight into the first team. Ribeiro provides much needed depth at LB and Sanderson is a useful option at CB / RB. No idea about Woodley, assume he's been brought in so we can take Gueye off when he's on a yellow and lost his head / it's 70 minutes and he's run out of steam.
  7. I think it's too little, too late. There's absolutely no reason why all of these signings couldn't have been done on Jan 1. We've barely paid a fee - we've simply picked up unwanted players (Sanderson, Forshaw, Ribeiro, Woodrow and Dennis). Kargbo is the only one who was regularly playing for his side. If we'd have picked up points against Oxford / Bristol City et al I'd feel much better about this window. As it is I think Boro have locked up that 5th Playoff spot with their deals this January and Sheffield United, Leeds, Sunderland and Burnley have built up too big a gap to catch them - so everyone else is playing for 6th. Still, at least we've finally signed some pace, eh?
  8. Just realised two of Sunderland's goals today were own goals by new Boro signings. LOL
  9. Loans are not cheap - especially PL loans.
  10. I thought they were skint?! To be fair they've lost their very, very good GK to Ipswich so that offsets any attacking talent they bring in.
  11. To be fair to the lad he's had so many clubs he must get confused about which side he's playing for on any given match day. He went with his instincts and rifled one into the net.
  12. I like my wingers to have the ability to run past somebody. Sigurdsson is painfully slow.
  13. 'Cos Forest have about 60 players on the books.
  14. We definitely needed a backup - especially with Duru and Batty hopefully maturing out on loan. You're right though, and it was shown again by the chance he blazed over against Preston, he's a LB through and through.
  15. Maybe we have and that's the problem. There is no money being released into the club. Waggot is lying to the fans to keep cashing his cheques for as long as possible. His shadowy overlord is doing similar, happy to keep this gravy train rolling until it careens off the tracks in about 12 months time when the last of the Szmodics / Wharton money is spent on day-to-day business.
  16. He was a dab hand at putting the cones out in training.
  17. Honestly it's looking more and more like we'll be in administration long before we assemble that mid-table L1 side. There's clearly absolutely no money.
  18. Mainoo is definitely an AM. You saw at the Euros, he was clueless in CM.
  19. I would burn my season ticket in protest if Gallagher donned the famous blue and white halves again - and that fucker is plastic, it'd be difficult to set alight.
  20. Cos evidently we only deal in frees and loans.
  21. If they had an ounce of pride they'd sell the club.
  22. Yes he was let go by Plymouth (cos he's crap).
  23. They've spent £25m this year alone (before Morton). They spent £16m last year and £10m the year before that. So they're literally spending every penny that comes in on rom transfer fees on transfer fees.
  24. That's not the calibre of signing that fires you into the Playoffs though, is it? Not when you look at the signings Middlesbrough have made. I think it's pretty clear that the top 5 slots are taken now - Sheffield United, Leeds, Burnley, Sunderland and Middlesbrough. Your January transfer business being a 5th choice CM, a 4th choice CB, a backup LB, a £1m punt on an unknown from the Italian second tier and a 29 year old Scottish striker hardly reeks of ambition (or any money spent).
  25. "joins on a permanent deal until the end of the season". So Braga have let him go on a free then? Eeeek.
