  1. Tonight's game at Old Trafford is why I can't take Hit and Giggle seriously. A boatful of mishit shots and yet Yorkshire are racing along at 11 an over with only 1 down. It's a game of luck as much as it's a game of skill.
  2. The Championship is the 11th ranked league in Europe, the Scottish Premiership is the 43rd ranked league in Europe - so no it's not even close.
  3. Most other clubs are trying to compete with a competitive budget. We're clearly just happy to survive and minimise the amount of money the Venkys have to put in every year.
  4. I like him a lot, but he's not a good enough defender for the Premier League.
  5. Sanderson, Batth, Weiman, Brittain - do Derby have a scouting network or is it just Eustace's contacts book?
  6. He's a strange signing - you'd have thought he'd have been fast tracked to the first team. Similar to O'Riordan, he just doesn't seem to be fancied by the managers. He'll have to be shipped out.
  7. Like most FBs, Brittain is much more effective as an overlapper. He'll get stood up too often going 1-on-1 against FBs.
  8. Unsurprisingly the teams that are willing to spend the most on loans are the luckiest.
  9. Probably decided it was too hot and humid and went home.
  10. He's one of our better football players - he's tough, physical and has a football brain. Sadly he's also slow and injury prone. The right manager thinks they'll be able to get a tune out of him. I hope a move works out for him - I've always had time for JRC, one of the few players with a set of balls on our books.
  11. It's moronic to give Ismael money when you didn't give Eustace any - so this is pretty par for the course.
  12. They both went on loan to the National League North last year - you'd think both would be better served out on loan again than making up the numbers backing up Hyam, Carter et al.
  13. At least he's English and his Scottish Premiership team wanted him back - if he's a backup I don't think its a bad signing. I guess it means Duru is going out on loan again though.
  14. At least they're bringing in pace this time.
  15. They're clearly linked. You're not going to be squeaky clean in one aspect of your business if you're dirty in another. The figures simply do not add up - this flat £20m loss year in, year out despite the fact they've decimated our playing squad stinks to high heaven.
  16. The accounts are not facts as they're being investigated for fraud.
  17. Had Birmingham in the Playoffs when he was sacked there. Had us in the Playoffs when he walked out. Performed the great escape with Derby. I'd say he's pretty good.
  18. We're £72m in the black in transfers during our time under this awful ownership. We'd be much further in the black if we were run properly - Brereton, Lenihan, Rothwell to name a few walking for free. You cannot just put ALL of that money into wages. You have to reinvest into the squad - it's so short sighted to sell assets and not replace them with cheaper, younger assets.
  19. I'd hope the next owners would put competent people in charge - a CEO and a DoF worth their salt would be a start. Anyone buying a Championship club will have to have a good deal of cash on hand for immediate running costs. That £20m a year figure is because we're so incredibly poorly run (and I still think it's a myth).
  20. No, there's another poster on here that doesn't rate Tronstad either. He's rightfully mocked.
  21. Basically. You're on a hiding to nothing having an Academy outside of the PL these days.
  22. Assuming absolutely nobody gets injured or loses form.
