  1. They literally wouldn't speak to Mowbray. It was bizarre.
  2. It'll be curious how they view it, but to me I'd just go into the room and say: "everyone in this room bar Kargbo and Buckley [pointed look at Buckley for being a lucky, lucky boy] has 18 months or less on their contract. I've repeatedly tried to get the Board and the owners to extend player contracts. They've steadfastly refused. I can't work under these circumstances. I'm trying to build something here and those above me are actively working against me. I appreciate that we won't all see eye to eye on this. For those that disagree with my actions here, I apologise and I thank you for the blood, sweat and tears you've shed for the team. For those that do agree with me, I may be signing you for Derby in July".
  3. The model left with Broughton. It's been about scrimping and saving until the next bill is due since then.
  4. Oooph I need to put on my sunglasses, the ambition of those signings is too bright for me.
  5. I wouldn't be surprised if we're being arses and dragging it out so he can't manage them tonight.
  6. Shared for everyone, but I've started it at the most pertinent part - the one that demonstrates Jordan has no idea. "What he'll do is come and take the staff he wants from Rovers and the players he wants... that possibly are players he's been allowed to sign". Ok Simon. He's taking Benson and Lowe is he? Don't think so. He'll take the two coaches he was allowed to bring with him initially and he might come in for Tronstad, Travis and Brittain in the summer. He's not going to come in for Batth, which is I think the only 'signing' he's recommended.
  7. Two managers have walked in the space of 12 months for lesser opportunities. How can anyone point fingers at them? If it had just been JDT you could have thought "well he's an ambitious, volatile character and it wasn't working out", but two? And then to read that club statement? The fault at this club lies in the Board room and above.
  8. I've been despondent at work. Done my job, but just haven't engaged with anyone. "Cheer up, it's only football". I may shank someone in the kitchen before the day is done.
  9. Anyone that takes this job on after reading that club statement is a clown. Our Board have literally told the incumbent manager, one who has us sat 6th in the league, to fuck off in an official press release.
  10. If you love him, set him free.
  11. i.e. he's an unsackable cockroach.
  12. He's welcomed the approach, yes. I'm sure he's had feelers out for a while - he was simply not backed in January and he can see the writing on the wall in the summer. I'm sure any manager would do the same after working under Steve and Suhail for any period of time. Even today, he told them what it'd take to retain his services - absolute basic necessities and they've released that bitter, pathetic hit piece of a club statement in response. I would love a transcript from that meeting, I bet it was scathing. You can see what's coming. Go and read some of Nixon's tweets (their chief propogandist) - he talks about how we're still top 6 and it's a huge 15 games coming up etc in response to people questioning the long term future of the club. The fact of the matter is there isn't a long term future for this club - contracts are being run down, 5 of the 6 January transfers have been brought in on a 6 month contract and multiple players are out of contract in the summer. Eustace has lived this day to day. He's not asked for the world and they will not (or more likely cannot) provide him with anything so he's done the honest thing and left with his head held high and his reputation intact. TLDR: he's left for a smaller, poorer club in a desperate relegation dogfight - that tells you everything you need to know.
  13. He gave them every opportunity to provide him with assurances - they refused to. It's painfully obvious he didn't want to go to Derby.
  14. To be fair it's our own fault. We should have bought his talentless daughter's shit handbags. That man can hold a grudge.
  15. No, that'll just be a passionate captain's response to his Head Coach seemingly abandoning him. When he calms down and his head clears he'll fully understand what Eustace has done and apologise I have no doubt. If Derby stay up I wouldn't be shocked if they come in for Travis in the summer.
  16. A master stroke? It reads like it was written by a jilted 15 year old.
  17. If you see a train coming down the tracks do you stand there and take the hit or step out of the way? He's done everything in his power on the pitch and off it. I do not blame him for leaving. Similar to JDT - DESPITE the utter incompetence at Board level, the manager just needed a small transfer budget to get us into the playoffs. Instead they've refused to back him AT ALL and released that utterly pathetic statement, laying the blame clearly at his door.
  18. We're only three days away from you blaming Eustace. Sooner if they've got another manager lined up. You can set your clock by it.
  19. If you want to get into the top 6 you back the manager that has you sat there in February.
  20. Genuinely just snapped my season ticket in half after reading that statement. They can get fucked.
  21. Seems to me like they couldn't give him assurances because we're living month to month. We'll go under soon I have no doubt. There is no money at the club - everything points to that.
  22. He asked for basic things - an assurance about his future (an extended contract), the future of his players (many have less than 18 months left on their deals) and the reinvestment of transfer funds into the squad. That's far more than 'shit hits the fan'. You cannot run a football club like that. Hell you couldn't run a sandwich shop like that.
  23. I expected nothing less. I bet it was a sit down with the two clowns too and he never got to speak to the owners.
