We should be raiding L1 and L2 for all the best talent. I'd loan most of them back too until the summer - but we're quickly approaching a situation where everyone is nearing 30 and / or the end of their contract and there's no contingency plan. What we don't need to do is pay Bamford and Wallace £20k+ a week.

Cantwell has been good this year, he's just got very little to work with. No pace / trickery out wide and no real pace up front. He's fluffed a few opportunities with Gueye recently, so hopefully they start operating on the same wave length soon.

So why haven't they cut their losses and sold us then?

I think, sadly, we don't have the money because we've been given no guarantees that the owners will ever put money in again, so every fund raised is earmarked for running costs and has been for 18+ months.

It's always going to lose money and we have very few assets left. If they're planning to sell now is the time. They're just going to rack up larger and larger debts if they hold onto it.

I know we're biased and think this case should be prioritised - but this is at least the second time we've been waaaaaaay down the list in the court, to the extent where there was clearly no way they were going to get to us. Meanwhile a historic institution is bleeding out in Lancashire. I hate everything about this.

I'd honestly rather take more chances with our budget on the likes of O'Riordan and Bindon than sign players like Wallace. Don't get me wrong, he was a good Championship player in his time, but he has zero resale value and is on the downside of his career - and he'll be on a fairly good wage too. I'd much rather speculate on outstanding young L1 / L2 talents and see if they can make the step up.

He was, a few years ago. He's washed as a player now.

Honestly United will never amount to anything as long as Fernandes is their captain. He's a rat. The culture of the club will always be wrong when he's the guy you send out as the leader of your team. And yes, Mainoo is poor - he was poor at the Euros too. His minutes should have gone to Wharton who's a much better player.
