  1. "Oh yeah I've heard about that. They fucking despise you and your kin in Lancashire, right?"
  2. My t-shirts don't tend to charge me £20m a year to exist in my drawer.
  3. Pickering won't be back for ages and Beck will be going back in the summer. If they want someone like that Small lad at Charlton, now would be a smart time to buy him and integrate him into the squad. Y'know if we were run professionally and all that.
  4. He's a symptom (although he is an odious person). You could have John Williams circa 1998 as the Chairman and it wouldn't make much of a difference. The fault lies with the owners and they need to be removed.
  5. It was turned up, briefly, last Feb. Eustace arrived, we then beat Stoke, and it was all ‘get behind ‘em’ again.
  6. We hit that number years ago and it's slowly being eroded away due to age / continued embarrassment (the O'Brien, Brierley, McGuire transfers for a start). A lot of fans have just walked away. When I hear other supporters singing that our support is shit, I always think "so would yours be if the roles were reversed".
  7. Szmodics would have been ideal, or some actual wingers that are faster than me.
  8. Fans blaming fans again. Lovely stuff.
  9. We're in a unique situation. We did all the protests, but they had zero impact because the owners do not give a shit. They're thousands of miles away and do not watch the team. As others have said, I don't know if it's part of the Indian culture, as I don't think there are other prominent Indian owners in football, but they're insulated from it all in Pune. We could set fire to the Jack Walker Stand and they wouldn't hear about it.
  10. I agree with everything but the last part. You don't need to spend £10m-15m, but you do need to scout carefully. We could easily sign 5 or 6 of the top young players in L1, L2 and Scotland if we were proactive.
  11. He was sacked, wasn't he? Mainly because he tried to go behind their backs and sign players.
  12. My go to is always Katherine Langford, but each to their own.
  13. Two Brighton U21s on loan is the best we can hope for.
  14. It's been too many games, too often for a very, very stretched squad. I think you're being unfair on Sanderson, I thought he was solid and definitely adds athleticism to the back 3/4. Early days, but I'd be asking how much Birmingham want for him in the summer with Hyam on the last year of his deal, Batth in his mid-30s and Wharton perennially injured now. As for the midfield, again I think you're being a bit unfair on Buckley and Forshaw. They're not why we lost the game and we didn't concede the midfield today. Obviously they're a big drop in quality from Tronstad and Travis, but I thought they were fine today. Aided by the switch in formation of course, which added more bodies to the mix. Gueye just isn't quick enough to lay the ball off then get into the box - he's having to do it all by himself at the moment. If he wins the ball and lays it off, someone else has to make that run into the box or the person he lays it off to has to drive for goal themselves.
  15. I'd snap your hands off for the version of Gestede we saw under Bowyer, but yeah in the grand scheme of things he was a middling player.
  16. To be fair the Social Media Manager (actually I assume we're not big time enough to have that, it's probably a poor sod in the Comms Dept when he's got time away from filming /editing / writing stories on the website) is on a hiding to nothing. Damned if they do, damned if they don't.
  17. A Diallo on loan ala Sunderland would have much more impact than a BBD, Armstrong et al. We need a wide player with pace that can take his man on, score the odd goal and create chances for others (in this instance crosses to Gueye in the box - but Cantwell / Weimann could easily up their goal tally if a threatening player out wide was introduced to the mix). I'd be asking after Poku to be honest. The season is gone and he won't be fit for a while, but I'd see if I could get him at a discount considering he has less than 6 months left.
  18. We need wide players more than we need a CF. Ones with pace that can create and score chances. That Dolan miss was absolutely criminal and Hedge is just terrible in the final third. Gueye had one good cross all game and he headed it onto the base of the post (which Weimann then converted). His other header was goalbound before being deflected - he made the most of a so-so cross there. He's very much someone to build around.
  19. You're throwing the word 'legend' around there very freely. I'll give you ex-player.
  20. A cursory glance at how they treated JDT before signing his contract would let him know that they don't keep their promises.
  21. He won't walk, but he'll be putting the feelers out for a new job in the summer. He's been badly, badly let down when even a smidgen of investment would have us comfortably in the playoffs.
  22. Yes their #14 - the one that fouled Gueye and didn't get booked.
  23. He lined up next to the corner flag for that FK. Could have done better?! He got beaten at his near post for the second goal. Criminal.
  24. Yeah when your marquee signing is someone like Kargbo when you look at the deals everyone else is making it makes you cringe.
