  1. Gueye gets far too much stick on here. He gets no service, but was causing their two CBs problems. Once he went off our attack went with him.
  2. £3m in transfer fees would be enough if spent wisely.
  3. Is that when their #7 stayed down rolling around for their attack and then, when the ref told play and was told to get up, he jogged 60 yards into our box without a care in the world?
  4. I was saying to my dad on the walk back - the only type of striker that would help us (without reinforcements out wide) is the type that can create chances for themselves i.e. someone that can run beyond the defence and get onto a long ball / clearance. Our only chance at one of those is if Chelsea have some 20 year old wonderkid who's not quite ready for the first team yet.
  5. At least our excuse is we're £40m in the black in transfer fees the last 24 months. They must be at least £150m in the red, so what's their excuse?
  6. Popular opinion - I'd shift Buckley on this window. He's simply not good enough.
  7. The ref allowed them to break up play at will - any time we turned a man or looked to break they just pulled / pushed / hacked someone down and reset their defence. Cullen, Browhill, #29, #7 and Roberts should all have been carded early in the first half to put a stop to it.
  8. He's getting dragged into the same nonsense a lot of the better #10s do on poor teams - he's dropping far too deep for the ball. I don't need my #10 acting as a pivot for the two CBs. Dack and Szmodics both used to do it. Dack took himself out of the game (like Cantwell does), Szmodics was fast enough to catch up to the attack.
  9. Atkins on BBC Radio Lancs was talking about how the three paid to score goals aren't good enough (Gueye, Ohashi and Leonard). I'm not ready to write any of them off until they get some actual service. Hedges, ACD, Dolan and Weimann as wide options is piss poor. If we could get a replacement loan in I'd send ACD back after his last two performances. I think he'd be a good player at this level for a team that's always on top (think Kompany's Burnley team) - in and around the box he's quite dangerous because he can shift it and shoot (similar to Markanday). What he can't do is run at and beyond players - he's about as quick as Dolan. For a team that plays 90% of the time on the counter he's useless. We need fast wide players that can stretch the opposition and run beyond them.
  10. He loves a little pirouette on the ball to slow down our counter attack when an easy pass forward is on does Dolan. I'd be sitting him down tomorrow and offering an extended contract on squad player wages. I'd give him a week to sign it. If he says no I'd shift him on before the end of January. He tries hard, but ultimately he produces very little.
  11. Weimann for Cantwell at half time for me. He's been poor.
  12. But do get thrown to the ground clean through on goal and see the defender go unpunished...
  13. What's he meant to say to him? "Look, hopefully we don't get another incompetent ref who let's everything but an obscure, UK only, rule go. So watch out, Makhtar".
  14. Which is also why you need to get the transfers in NOW. You can't wait until 31 Jan to sort them - you've missed 8 games. Then they'll need at least a couple of weeks to get up to speed (either fitness wise if they're a young loanee or tactics / chemistry side if they're a senior player) - so that's 10 games.
  15. I'm one of Leonard's biggest fans on here (same with BBD and Brittain when they were getting pelters - you could see they were good players), but he's not ready yet. That year out with injury has really stunted his development. He needs 6 months starting every week in L1. If he's in our squad come 1 Feb we've had a bad transfer window.
  16. As opposed to zero dimensional when he's not? I'd rather he has 60-70 minutes to cause chaos than 20. Cantwell plays if fit, Gueye plays if fit. Don't overcomplicate things. I'd have Dolan and ACD as my wingers
  17. He's the lad that sent McFadzean off against Plymouth last year.
  18. I'd be delighted with Gueye bundling a cross over the line with his hand to seal a 1-0 win.
  19. Sigurdsson scored a goal at the Bernabéu.
  20. Burnley sold him for £15m to West Ham. I doubt he's in our price range.
  21. Essentially another Callum Brittain:
  22. Ah, fair enough then. Move on to the next target - we can't hang around until 31 Jan for them to decide. We need bodies now.
  23. Yep, Godo should be in the building already. We couldn't sign him on deadline day because Fulham didn't get the Nelson deal over the line in time. Unless he's been promised to another club / we think we're getting much, much better that deal should have been wrapped up in December.
  24. I think it's a final farewell to a Burnley legend - one who has been let go by Norwich. I bet they spend more money than we do this window.
