  1. I would love to think that we will win this game after all it will be probably the last one I make until December now (Fulham!) BUt I am not so sure. The team will probably be knackered from Europe and we never raise our game against rubbish oppositiion! Despite all that I am feeling in a positive mood so will predict a 2-1 win!
  2. How do you know if the site is illegal? I might be being incredibly naive but it never occured to me that the thing i was listening to was illegal!
  3. Someone asked earlier about BCFC opinion on him - Well I work in Solihull and most of the kids in my school and staff are Birmingham fans and when I joked that he was coming home they were all like have him! He is injured all the time and has done nothing for us! They didnt seem to care at all at the prospect of him leaving! As for having a baby with Sammi Winward (Lass from Emmerdale) I thought they had split up and she is back living at home?!?
  4. I have looked into this as I want broadband and I thought I could justify the cost of the sports channel by offsetting it against interent connection as well! I registered an interest but they havent rolled it out to where i live! Would be interested to know what people have found out about it and whether the free one was going to be ok for my sort of usage - dont really download anything - just surf across different websites. They just need to be quicker getting it to me and then i can have sky sports, sky plus and broadband!!! (and i said i would never get sky!)
  5. He beat up Phil Brown at Bolton really badly - he ended up with a mangled face so that is what he could be referring to.
  6. I seem to remember Sheffield Wednesday had a band, didnt they? Did their fans hate them? Maybe our drummer could go and join that band if it is still up and running!
  7. I don't get what you mean! In my head what I have said makes sense. At the start of the season you buy into a package of 6 tickets - 1 A+, 2 A and 3B. So at the start of the season you would chose - for your A+ game either Man U, Chelsea, Eveton etc, you would chose two from a list of A games and 3 from a list of B games. So you make your choice at the start of the season. When you have chosen your 6 games at the start of the season they club allocate you your seat. I dont think that it will impact on the number of season tickets because prices will work out that you get more of a discount the more tickets you buy. So if you buy a season ticket you tickets cost £21, if you do the package it works out at £26 and other wise it is £35(Dont start arguing with the prices because it was just to illustrate a point!) Surely it has got to be worth a try? Nothing else seems to have worked for the club!
  8. Why? As you chose your six tickets they allocate seats - that way it also means that after season tickets you have second best pick of the seats
  9. I am sure Fulham offer something like this either 5 or 10 match combinations. Could work on a similar theme to the rides at Blackpool Pleasure Beach - You could buy a 6 ticket deal and within that you get 1 a+, 2 a, and 3 b matches. Not worked out the cost but it would be discounted from buying them individually although not as much discount as buying a season ticket. It is certainly something I personally would be interested in as I can't commit the time to a whole season of matches yet I would like to go regulary - it would mean that people had to commit to that many games, and could chose ones around their other commitments. Maybe link it into a half season ticket but over the whole season and choose haf the matches - limiting the number of top games you can attend.
  10. That is a really good idea - wish it had occured to me at the time!!!
  11. And the stupid woman insisted on calling Brett , Skippy the whole game! Is this a well known nickname for him or just something she has imaginativly?!?! come up with?
  12. Up until today's game I did not have a strong opinion either way about the drummer but after today's game I am totally behind the get him out brigade! Up until last season I have always sat behind the goal in the Rovers end about 5 seats back but last season and the first two games of this season I have been all over the Blackburn End up in the back right hand corner and down at the front left hand side and it is only today that I have seen the negative effect he has on carrying the chanting across the stand. The chants generally orgiginate from up in that corner and when me and my friend sat there for the Everton game it sounded good and really felt like there was an atmosphere. Today whenever the sound from those fans started the blasted drummer would start - drown out the fans and then you wouldnt really know what was being sung. IMO the sound doesnt carry across the stand well anyway so it is difficult sat over that side to join in but with the drum on top of it as well makes it flipping impossible! I was much more aware of the drum today and really felt he had a negative impact on the atmosphere (although at times i was glad of it as it drowned out that stupid woman!) Not that is a reason to keep it!
  13. I'm really glad I went to the game today and although when purchasing tickets I nearly choked at the total amount, I have had a really good time at the last two games and although the results haven't gone for us I am feeling more positive about the season. My issue with today's game and having spent so much on tickets is that I could not chose who was sat behind me! I ended up sat in front of the most annoying woman in the world and some quite annoying men who persitsted the whole game in shouting abuse at the players and when our fans shouted abuse at the Chelsea players she shouted abuse at us! When the Rovers fans started singing the song to Lampard as he was taking the corner she pointed out to everyone around her that we would be cheering him on during the game next saturday! Fair point - And then John Terry gets the ball and she stands up and yells something about him being a waster and needs to sort his hair out! And so it continues - I have a real issue with fans shouting abuse at their own players. I believe that when a player pulls on the blue and white shirt on and runs out you should support and encourage them no matter what is happening as shouting abuse at them isnt going to improve their performance. Anyway it started off her and the man getting all arsey with LUcas Neil - shouting at him to make runs forwards and then shouting at him for not being back to defend. Then the same for Pederson. He wasnt up with play and then he was off side and so on. Throughout the game she in turn targeted each and every player and the tactics of the game - only problem is (IMO and other peoples around me!) SHe didnt know what she was talking about spouting utter rubbish! BAck to the orignial point about it costing a lot to have to listen to that silly bint!!! Not that the club can do anything about it - just felt like a rant! BTW aside from that I really enjoyed the game and need to work out how I can get a season ticket again! I miss going every week! Right now I am off to find the drummer thread to rant about him!!!
  14. Can't believe you can fly from Coventry and I have to go to work!
  15. I went to Old Trafford (the season we lost 1-0) and a friend of the family (who is a man utd fan) took me with him on his sons season ticket. He insisted I wore my rovers kit so I did and we went to the game and I watched the match and no one batted an eyelid! Is it because I am a girl?
  16. According to Teletext Dermot Gallagher has been pulled from the game he is meant to be reffing today - sounds like he is in trouble as well for giving a yellow card!
  17. I think we will lose 3-1 Dont think boro did us any favours beating them midweek!
  18. What a bugger I just spent ages shredding my old bank statements from the past 10 years! Only got the past two years now!! Oh well - still be worth looking into!
  19. Feeling positive - think we will win 2-1 (or is this just wishful thinking!!!)
  20. Ian Peace scores an own goal to take former club off bottom of the league
  21. I'd rather be bottom of the table on the first day of the season as oppose to bottom of the table on the last day of the season. I didnt have a positive vibe about today's game but that doesnt mean we wont get better.I have every faith we will stil have an excellent season and I cant wait to come to the game vs Everton as I think we will be fantastic!
  22. 1-1 Don't think we will win. Hope it will be a draw but my money is on them scoring first
  23. Big news down here today is that Gary McSheffery (covs only good player!) has gone to Brum! They are not happy!
  24. You lot should take up advertising for the club - you have ALMOST convinced me to buy a season ticket! I have said for the past three years that I havent had a season ticket for Rovers because I can't afford it - but I stand corrected Paul, you have shown me a way that I can afford it for a similar price to what I end up paying for going to odd games here and there. But then I think Alan hit the nail on the head - I can't afford the time and the energy and if i bought a season ticket I would end up going to a the games. It is a long way up to rovers especially as the M6 is so rubbish and I work stupid hours I am probably in the minority here but I pick games based on the day of the week they are on, date of the game, time of the game(does it fit into my social calendar) and dont even think about the price! Don't even really care about the opposition as I am going to watch rovers not the other team. I am coming to Everton and Chelsea (and i am making my dad come with me) and I dont care it will cost me a small fortune but I am excited that i can mkae one trip back up North - get fed at my parents for a few days (hence saving money) and take in two rovers games! Small things...
