You're right, this hasn't been done the proper way at all and reflects poorly on the club. It is also worrying, as some have said with the present regime's links to selling off land at Cov. Your list of questions was a good one and we need answers to those and other things. Personally I'm curious, now that there have been two conflicting posts, on whether the STC or JTC is the bigger site. I want to know how any of this will stop us needing to train on Ewood in bad weather ever again. I want to know why the unused land that has been mentioned couldn't have been sold instead. I want to know how our facilities, often spoken highly of by players who sign, are not good enough and how they're going to be made good enough. Also, given some often tell us Venkys will spend when asked to, but are limited by FFP...I'm almost certain that training ground and other infrastructure costs have nothing to do with FFP? I'm sure I remember that being said. So if the Vs were as willing as is claimed we shouldn't need to be selling off any assets to do this.

Barnsley v Rovers, Wed 17th Feb

Nyambe is literally the only player here I can think of that gets dropped as soon as he makes a mistake or two. Nyambe had a couple of iffy moments a couple of games ago, but was NOT at fault for the first Preston goal. The wandering centre halves were. Gallagher was - you can see him look at Cunningham in acres of space then decide he can't be arsed. And Kaminski's positioning was uncharacteristically awful - there was no good reason to be so focused on his near post at that range and with a step or two to the left he would have got a glove on that. Nyambe made the right decision in the circumstances and got unlucky. Pretty much everyone else was responsible for it but Nyambe got the blame. He didn't even get named, he was twice referred to recently just as 'our right back'. That was when I knew he wouldn't be playing tonight. He isnt even on the bench. I reckon we are gonna hear he has an 'injury' but if so all I'm gonna hear is 'had enough of Tony's shit'. -
Just seen the u18s beat Liverpool 1-0 away. 93rd minute goal from Georgie Gent, who I'll admit is a name I can't recall seeing before? They play Burnley next.

Fair enough, Paul only managed my age group at the time I think. He banned me from the club for doing a bit of a Cantona kick on someone who was being a dick to me after a training session 🤣 I was only 10 or 11 but it wasn't my first offence tbf, had been banned for 2 weeks before for I think punching someone in similar circumstances...kids ey? 🤣 Landed at Eagles after though who were a much stronger side.

I wasn't sure if it was the same Bill Stemp that @oldjamfan1 mentioned until you said Darwen Rangers, but yeh I know Bill. Before Blackburn Eagles I played for Rangers under his son Paul. Is that who manages them now, or is it Matt? Or the other one...Nigel I think he was called? Didn't really know him though. My old man and Bill used to play in the same teams in their youth, and I played with Matt at Rangers and we were childhood friends. Weird how that worked out. We lived across the road from them and my mum still does unless they've moved. Bill also used to deliver us veg! Nice bloke.

I played against Paul Gallagher at school level. I was a CB too but if I remember he seemed to be playing a little wide for me to come up against him too often. He looked good but I hadn't understood why he got hyped before the game as much as he did. Later, I played with him, when he turned out for Blackburn Eagles (he shouldn't have been, he was at Rovers school of excellence and wasn't registered for us... he used the identity of one of the lads who was on holiday. From the other post about him he must like masquerading around amateur games!). This time I totally got the hype, I think he only played the 2 games, against Blackburn Boys and Barrowford Celtic, who were at the time the best and second best sides, with us being the third best at that time. They were close fought games normally, we would sometimes scrape it but more often lose. Pretty sure we smashed both of them, or at least Gally bagged a hatful in each. Also played with Matt Derbyshire at the BRIC. Believe he was in the Blackburn Eagles side one year below me too. He was working at the BRIC I think and filled in for us for a while when we were a bit short. Scored a fair few and was a very tidy finisher but I certainly didn't think he was going to go pro with Rovers not all that long later. He probably wasn't really trying though. In both cases I hadn't noticed when they turned out for Rovers that they were the same players I had played with years earlier until ex teammates told me haha A mate of mine told me a few years ago he sometimes plays with some ex pros including Colin Hendry. Apparently Colin is, sadly, very shit now. Worst player on the pitch I think he said but we all know what he has been through (and done). Was sad to hear it though.

I don't need to be impressed I'm just happy Dolan is tied down.

Worst ever? Hard to say, but I want to say J Lowe. Mostly because I can't remember any time that he played a forward ball. A complete lack of imagination and courage in his passing.

Wharton was still going out on loan at that age, and at 22 I believe? Ideally you loan kids out younger and they're playing as important players in the squad by 21, but he hasn't developed enough. If he can still develop on loan he needs to go out on loan. If we think he is finished developing then frankly he wasn't worth keeping around as he hasn't been good enough.
