  1. In a general sense totally agree but he has done a few nice things today. Christ we should have buried that!
  2. Actually dont think Buckley is playing too badly tbh and I'm not a fan. That Dolan can still do these skills so consistently on this horrid bobbly turf is ridiculous.
  3. Downing has played well, a couple of risky backwards passes aside. Dolan hasn't been in the danger area with the ball in space much, sure, but his touch, control, dribbling and intelligence has been streets ahead of the rest. Some of the lads just not on his wavelength or he would have been creating chances. Once someone does free him up in that danger area he will roast this lot. Doncaster also putting 2 or 3 men on him as soon as he gets the ball.
  4. In fairness to Bell he clearly took a knock about 7 or 8 minutes in that seems to be troubling him. Dolan easily our best player so far.
  5. Ffs even Doncaster, sans Whiteman, can sit back and hit us on the break and create better chances than us from it.
  6. Wouldn't that only guarantee 5 of the 15 points required?
  7. People did identify back then that Ayala as our only CB recruitment was a risk with his injury record, as Williams and Lenihan are not strangers to the treatment room. I'm not as good as some at trawling through old posts but I'm moderately sure I remember you saying it wouldn't be a problem. It's ok to be wrong sometimes. Might be easier to say 'yeh Tony and I underestimated how injury prone this backline would be in a congested fixture schedule with corona around, we should have recruited another CB'. I'll do it. Because although I initially said we had to get two CB in, when one had the resume of Ayala I got a little excited and decided that whilst I'd like another and had my concerns, we would probably be alright with what we had at CB and the youth lads could potentially cover a shortfall. One other thing I underestimated there was how little faith TM actually had in Carter (not that the lad had particularly impressed me). Wharton's lengthy injury was a surprise too, as I don't think he had an injury record of note. But on the other hand, Lenihan hasn't broken down which was always a possibility. On balance we have probably only done slightly worse for injuries there than you'd expect in such a busy schedule.
  8. It's literally just a re-hash of information from November. An interview with Waggott in November where he discussed what would happen if a bid for Arma came in, and a tweet from some Twitter account in November claiming West Ham were interested. Nothing to see here at the moment.
  9. That's not entirely true, it either contributes to the financial security of the club or allows us to sign more players of a decent quality. A player adding monetary value is also usually a sign they added value on the pitch.
  10. Nope, it's some people in India's money. Was the irony of your post lost on you?
  11. The LT says we have been training at Ewood as the pitches at Brockhall are frozen. I'm expecting the pitch to be an absolute state, as it was already bad. Not good for a side that likes to try possession football. Hopefully it forces us into playing the more direct game that actually suits us.
  12. Tbf I wouldn't want us to line up with a 15 year old Holtby.....
  13. Have you watched Whiteman a few times? Not in the slightest. And I usually remember everyone down to some of our youth team players who never got first team games. Must have made a great impression!!
  14. I thought Carter was still 20 at the moment.
  15. Although that is factually what happened, he was taking on three players single-handedly at the time after travelling a quarter of the pitch, so I think turned into trouble is a bit of a harsh way of phrasing it. Think he has been really unlucky not to have played a lot more, so a little luck in the way it bounced straight to Dack who lashed it in was overdue. I still have concerns that Mowbray will end up wasting what I regard to be an exceptional talent. I hope we are already talking about a longer deal, it will likely be cheap at his age and won't he only have a year left come the summer? By which point he may have caught more eyes.
  16. We already own a super rapid centre half who can't head.
  17. I wish I could shoot like that hungover.
  18. I agree about the complaint, he is worthless. But I dont think it's pure bias. He has baffled me with a few decisions in our favour too.
  19. Strange to put Dolan in the middle and keep Gally wide. Gallagher should be our second option in the middle.
  20. Thanks, that's been bugging the crap out of me ever since he suddenly started saying it differently. Hah as I typed this he pronounced it the old way again! Lucy is certainly still saying it the 'wrong' way too.
  21. What a goal that would have been from Gally. He's never a winger but I honestly think he is looking a decent striker of the ball this season.
  22. There is no good reason to sell Armstrong next month. We might be out of the promotion race, at least for now, but if we lost our primary source of goals then a relegation dogfight wouldn't be impossible. You can't sell your best players just because you're worried an injury may take their value away. That's how you regress. Armstrong hasn't had any significant injuries in the past. Armstrong is a little overrated by some fans, but criminally underrated by others. Nobody is replacing the kind of goals rate he is capable, and it would be one less player capable of stretching teams with pace on the counter, which is our main weapon (we just keep forgetting to use it as we are obsessed with tippy tappy).
  23. Main issue for me is he doesn't break up all that much play. He is also especially conservative with his passing and a bit laid back in his running. He had his best game for us though when he got hooked so could be improving.
  24. Surprised to see there aren't any comments here since he made his return. Thought he looked ready, probably needs to get some more minutes in him before he is starting again. I think he made a difference to our play once he came on, Brereton too. How much of that was a morale boost from them both returning is hard to say, but I thought Dack looked like he hasn't lost much through the injury. Easy to forget he is a much smarter player than quite a few others we have. How many goals he gets will depend on where he is used though.
  25. I had a go at finding the comments but they're probably buried under all his Manure days stuff. Basically after we beat them during a relegation struggle where we badly needed points, by one goal I think, he described it as the worst moment of his professional career. Even though he was part of the team that got humped 7-1 by Manure. Fan? Feck off.
