  1. I'm very wary of this idea, which keeps being trotted out. For me, we are a pretty big club and I'd ALWAYS want someone who has prior first team gaffer experience in charge. People can get their initial experiences lower down the leagues. Not to say it can't work. I had similar reservations about Hughes. But more often it turns out more like a Shearer situation. Then again I agree with the poster who said they'd be worried about the Venkys tombola.
  2. Not sure either of us should disagree with the other too hard on this. It's kinda like comparing dog shit and cat shit.
  3. God knows why you wouldn't start him.
  4. Entirely expect to get spanked in this one. Don't think Preston are all that, but they're in great form and we're in piss poor form. Actually be happy if we get a draw (depending on the circumstances...)
  5. That would be entirely the wrong move unless Tosin is a distinct upgrade on Del at CB, because Del isn't any better than Bell at LB. Both very poor there. I'd generally say Del is worse in fact. Although Bell was atrocious on Saturday.
  6. Very good question, as far as I've seen the club has been completely silent on it. It was clear how much worse our defence got when Bell replaced him.
  7. I reckon 3 goals in 4 games does justify his place for now, yes. I know he can be frustrating with his end product, but most of our players don't get to those sorts of positions to be squandering an end product in the first place. He's inconsistent but that pace is always a potential threat. And he's not lazy, sick of hearing that. Not a perfect player by any means, or our best, but I really don't see why he is getting so much flak. Especially during a goalscoring run. There are so many more appropriate scapegoats who should be getting it in the neck instead. Agree a Souness type would be good, not Souness himself though anymore.
  8. I think the amount of bodies and limited room in the QPR box when we attack, versus the acres of space and handful of players defending when they attack us, tells the whole story. And it's not just in this game.
  9. At least Tosin will make us dominant in the air..oh wait.
  10. Jesus christ this defence is poor without Cunningham in it. His injury better not be a bad one.
  11. I believe so, can't remember the situation, club or manager though.
  12. Bit unorthodox to sack a manager while the game is still playing...
  13. Usual story of this season. Controlled the play, give away a soft goal against the run. Getting seriously predictable.
  14. That question made me check out how the League One top scorers are looking. A couple of lads have 8 goals. Marcus Maddison has 6 goals and 6 assists...
  15. Roque was as good at it, for me, especially considering the higher level.
  16. I'll be more than happy if that's the lineup. It won't be of course. I'd consider Downing in for Graham and Arma up top, depends on QPR really. Don't know how they defend or what their defensive strengths and weaknesses are. But either way that's basically the best side we can put out in our normal formation (contingent on how good Tosin is). We probably won't see it all season.
  17. If he starts him at all, in fact. He has been awful for two games in a row.
  18. He is 6 ft 4. It should be at least part of his game.
  19. Seemed to contribute when he scored 3 games in a row and became our top scorer.
  20. Should have swerved it at that price though.
  21. Fans are so prone to hyperbole. He can do all those things. He has done all those things in this game. He just needs to get more consistent with it. Personally I feel he is getting far more stick than he deserves at the moment.
  22. I don't think he insists on playing with wingers at all.
  23. Not easy to stand out when you're constantly getting injured. The amount of lost development time and ring rust will have a real effect. Unless he can stay injury-free for a long time starting pretty much immediately, it's hard to see a real future for a lad who was once City's youth player of the year. Shame.
  24. He's not my type, but if that gets your rocks off go ahead.
  25. Sorry what get out of jail card?
