  1. I already answered that on page 19. Nobody here is trying to take it off him, primarily because we don't have the power to do so, but also because obviously we want him to be the scorer for his confidence. That makes utterly zero difference to any objective debate about whether he did in fact score it or not. Emotive bias doesn't factor into that. What we want to be true isn't necessarily true.
  2. It has clearly been frozen too late for anything to be clear.
  3. That's the Premier League's committee not the EFL's. Nothing was mentioned of how often the EFL's Dubious Goals Committee meets. When is anything at stake with such a thing, beyond accurate records and maybe a dispute over top scorer (which could only be known near or at season's end). When does anyone lose out, unless it's two teammates arguing over who scored? Yet it tends to be ones like this - was it the scoring team's player or an OG? Why would anyone be so aggrieved? Following this line of logic I'd say the panels, Prem or EFL, would never meet. We've definitely had players get goals chalked off by them before.
  4. Not only is that blurry as shit but it looks more like, if anything, his head isn't on it at all. Again, I'd need to see it in a slow-mo hd to feel confident. But he'll either be allowed to keep it or not.
  5. Sorry I don't understand what you're trying to say. How does any of that mean it won't be looked at?
  6. Those are always the circumstances when a goal may be an OG. Changes nothing.
  7. I think the senior starts are more valuable for him right now than sitting on our bench.
  8. Surely they will have to look at it to determine whether he touched it. You only said 'if' and 'I think' about it yourself. I've watched replays from several angles, several times, and I'm no clearer whether he touched it. Needs a slow-mo HD look.
  9. I think that's a possibility, but I still haven't seen a replay where I can be certain he got a touch on it at all. If he did then as you say he should get the goal.
  10. That was my first impression watching it in real time too. The replays, however, make it look much more dubious, so we'll have to see. Agree it's important for the player and therefore us.
  11. Nobody on here is trying to do that, chiefly as none of us has the power to do that. If anything I'm sure we all want him to get to keep it. The game is over, we won, we're all ecstatic. If people want to now have an objective discussion about whether he actually headed it, which is certainly questionable without seeing a HD slow motion replay from the right angle, I don't see a problem with that. Ultimately the dubious goals panel will make the decision one way or the other and that will be the end of the matter.
  12. I think experience alongside experience is benefitting Hyam. He may have found the younger, less experienced but fitter and faster Carter harder to read in order to know how to act accordingly himself.
  13. I was over it the second I posted it until you piped up. You said he did nothing wrong, well, he did. A clean sheet doesn't automatically mean a flawless goalkeeping performance.
  14. If you take out the goal I'd disagree, though he did well. One or two of his early cameos were more promising. I'm not going to use the exact words that are apparently banned, but having seen the replays again at the end, I'll be (pleasantly) surprised if he gets to keep that one. Would be a shame. Hopefully he takes the confidence boost whatever happens.
  15. Ohashi talking to Gueye at the end, keeps putting his hands on his head. Seems like he was basically saying 'mind blown that you scored' 🤣
  16. Apart from the exact thing we were discussing, which could have easily cost a goal and 2 points.
  17. Think the ref has money on us drawing. Even handed reffing while the scores were level, everything Sheff W's way since.
  18. Always call it exactly how I see it with Pears, the good and the bad. Mashed and co can say what they want.
  19. That's a joke too, a booking for kicking the ball back into play? That's the opposite of time wasting. Ref had a fairly good game until that penalty.
  20. Seriously, Pears has been much steadier this season, but what is with his continual inability to catch or at least parry to somewhere that isn't a danger area?
  21. Genuinely nearly as happy for the lad as I was for us then...only issue, and I should've looked a bit more closely, but one of the replays looked like it may be an own goal. Hope for his sake he gets to keep it, could go on a run.
  22. Yeh cos we have been great at retaining scouting staff in recent years haven't we?
  23. The way things are ran at the moment, if someone stayed for 3 or 4 years in that post I'd be worried. Any Chief Scout worth their salt will get tired of barely having a budget to work with, and being undermined by other power brokers in the hierarchy. If they stay that long (unless things here change) they're probably desperate or a yes man.
