Eustace seemingly confident we will get a couple in (one of which is surely Ribeiro) and was surprisingly smiley in the interview when asked about it. Tons of Championship rivals having no problems signing players, including ones that have already done far better than us this window prior to today.

There are too many people still doing that for them all to have ulterior motives. Other reasons include: ignorance of the information, chronic positivity-in-spite-of-facts syndrome, and sheer stupidity.

JDT was on record repeatedly as saying he offered to resign and was refused. If you resign, I believe you are financially penalised as you are under contract. Otherwise managers would resign and go to another club instead of that club receiving compensation.

You don't know that, you just saw a report, and frankly I can't see why we would pay 2 million for a 6 month loan when we are such skinflints. Half of that would be enough of a surprise. Even if such a figure was correct it would definitely be inclusive of covering his wages. After he didn't come here, they then had to rush a deal through to the MLS because they hadn't registered him, so their bargaining power will have been low, and outside of superstars MLS teams aren't going to pay those sorts of loan fees. His stock has only dipped since. There's no way they've recouped anything like 8 million in loan fees.

I don't know why, but he does indeed seem confident. Either he knows something we don't (very possible) or he still has a bit of naivety about just how shit things are here.

At this point, surely criticising Venkys is basically just stating the obvious to the football community. A bit like announcing footballs are round. I'd expect most other club owners would fancy themselves to be considerably better owners than Venkys and not come in for the same treatment.

The GBE calculator has Ohashi on 14 points. I was talking about 15 only to say he would probably be on 15 so far if he hadn't been injured.

Oh that's a lot less than I thought, I thought it was 3 if you dropped to 75% or so, then 2 if you dropped to 50% or so, etc. Our only non-Brit players who have been used are Siggy (barely featured), Toth (2 or so appearances) Ohashi and Gueye. Ohashi has been injured for a while, both have spent a chunk of time on the bench. I'd guess we are above 80%.
