He can genuinely go and fuck himself as far as I'm concerned. Thoughts his comments after we beat Manure that time were an utter disgrace.
-
Do you mean Vincent Jannsen?
-
Who? Not only never heard of them but can't find anything online about them. Is there a joke in there somewhere?
-
So you think they're better players than Charlie Austin, who you're happy we aren't getting?
-
Sir, you underestimate my skills. I'm insulted.
-
If that's what it takes, I would.
-
I thought everyone had agreed to stop yammering about Brereton? I know it's tempting to discuss, because with that money back in our budget we could be more adventurous in this window, but it's been done to death here and has its own thread.
-
Or how about you just show your fellow posters a bit more respect and a lot less passive aggression? What kind of reply is that? 'Its the way it is'. So you're just accepting you're being rude and don't care? No wonder a lot of people haven't exactly missed you with that shitty attitude.
-
Do you realise how you sound when you say things like that?
-
Sorry if I've missed it, but have you heard anything about Austin? Ex-dingle aside, for me it would make a lot of sense, if there's no loan fee. Even paying his full wages until the end of the season wouldn't be super crazy to push us into serious play off contenders. Surely it could be justified to the lads (even checked over with them beforehand if need be) by saying look, this could be the push we need to get you all to the promised land and better contracts/profile. It's a temporary short term gamble. It's a contract another club gave him, that we will temporarily service in the hope of a huge pay off, but we're not paying anything like those wages for long term commitments. Are you all up for it? He has proven pedigree in this league and even the Prem, moreso than anyone else in the squad. Surely it couldn't be that hard to justify it to them? Edit - admittedly DG might not be too keen as, while BA and SG can run the channels if need be, if we play one up front it's gonna be either Danny or Charlie.

You know you're lying to yourself Adam. You'll check on here at least 5 times tomorrow.

I wasn't saying you see more on TV, I don't know if you mean me or another poster. I think you see more in some ways, less in others, but not so as it makes a world of difference. Just nuances. I forget if you were the original poster, but whoever it was seemed to be essentially saying BDG's view was worthless because it was on a screen. If it wasn't you, fair play.

As I said in the post you quoted, there's only a bit of off the ball you miss as the camera keeps near the action. Most fans rather than scouts are going to be watching the action and who is in position around the action. We obviously don't agree, but I maintain the missed movement is fairly minimal and it's odd to act, as some do, as though someone's whole opinion of the game or players is useless just because of the medium they viewed it.
-
You can generally see a decent spread of the pitch on tv, where the play is. You miss the occasional bit of off the ball, but it's pretty minor all things considered. Personally (and this may just be me and my eyesight even with glasses or lenses) I find it easier to tell who everyone is on tv. There are also replays (not always on ifollow though). Why do scouts and managers also do a lot of scouting from recordings these days if tv footage doesn't give you a good sense of things? Lambasting people's opinions because they saw it on tv instead of in the flesh is weird. I can only think it's born of a hatred for fans seen as armchair rather than getting down to the game rather than any real logic.
-
Having been at many games and also watched many on tv, I don't believe this oft-repeated mantra at all.
-
Aye, optics matters, but not as much as reality, which can affect the optics anyway.
-
It will look a lot worse when he continues to bomb because he is criminally short of fitness and confidence.
-
If we did that there'd be a loan fee for sure...such that we may as well pay all his wages. The only reason to split it would be to be able to keep telling other players we don't pay those wages.

https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17392688.where-things-stand-on-rovers-search-for-a-new-striker/ Personally I think the bit about Britt sounds mostly speculative rather than highly informed, just from how he has written it.

The evidence is in how every post about his wages quotes a higher figure ?

I know where it came from - I forgot who, but someone on here admitted they changed his Wikipedia page to say he had done the 100 metres in under 10 seconds or something. It then appeared in the press in several reports, because so many journalists are such lazy bastards! Popov, I really wanted us to sign him too. Thought he looked very exciting and just what we needed at the time. Edit - just took a look at Wiki (I know, after what I just said!) for Popov to see if it mentions what happened. According to that flawless, un-editable source, the move broke down after everything was agreed because he didn't get a work permit! Went on to land 80 caps and be the Bulgarian captain...good work, government peeps. I remember it used to feel like only clubs of our stature or lower got work permits rejected - the big clubs got to sign whoever they wanted for their U-18s, who would never feature, because if they were interested then they must be special players.

Had a lot of the same thoughts about it not seeming to fit...but the simple answer is, maybe TM is about to change our style. I feel like our passing moves have improved a lot over the last couple of games. Maybe he thinks it's time, and that BA will make it all come together.
-
That's exactly what I was about to suggest after doing a bit of research and finding out the name of who he was on about...a lad called Donis born in Blackburn in 1996, had to be. Personally I'd say the lad owes us one! ?

Adjustment to the Dack song? "We've got Dack in attack, n' we've got Chapman back!"
-
Exactly. They're paying him more by the hour, it will be completely untenable for them soon.
