  1. Well nobody knows if he is gonna be any good...
  2. I don't find it too mysterious. It's a financially low risk gamble. We really wanted him, but the injury situation concerned us too much to pay and contract him for years. So now we get to have a look first, at both his injury status and quality. For probably the cost of covering his tiny wages and maybe a fee of about 200k I'd guess, which probably isn't too dissimilar to paying him for a year on an uplifted wage. If we did nothing and waited for his injury to sort itself his price would potentially go up. The mystery is in the status of his injury, and why we thought it was appropriate to sell Travis and bring in an injured player as the replacement - but I expect the latter part is answered by the loanee from Birmingham. So if he isn't any good, or is suddenly needed at RB, it's a bit of a risk in a window of risks, but not that big of one and not that much of a mystery tbh.
  3. Even Montgomery before O'Grady Macken who doesn't seem to be in the management's thoughts anymore.
  4. I'd imagine it's a typo and should say wasn't.
  5. I wish him many more injuries.
  6. Livescore seems to be of the opinion he didnt score. Someone called Gudmondson did, maybe you're getting them mixed up?
  7. The Wrexham that have surpassed our transfer record this summer? The Wrexham that will likely finish above us this year? Yes it probably is why he's gone there.
  8. Feels like he should be on a 5th tier loan now really...
  9. Since we have lost both of them, it's surely a moot point to discuss now.
  10. The idea of the head honchos wondering why everyone is furiously staring at and scribbling on cards whilst they talk, and then someone triumphantly shouting 'Bullshit Bingo!' after the 14th Rovers transfer-window-failure-cliche is churned out, definitely tickles me. Incidentally somebody did already draw up such a bingo card earlier in this thread, I couldn't tell you who or when though.
  11. I'd much rather see a net spend ranking.
  12. It's a big assumption. Spent practically his whole career in the Midlands or further south.
  13. Fair enough, I couldn't find his birthday at the time
  14. You think the player who was most recently playing for Wolverhampton turned down Birmingham because of location?
  15. I didn't think Eze was going to either, I assume that had been on the table a while too.
  16. Good news, just need Tyjon to follow suit.
  17. Preston got rid of their u21s years ago, that's why we ended up with Dolan. They let him go because there was no more youth football for him, and they didn't see him as a first team squad member. Who did we just play then, do they cobble a team together from their u18s to enter comps?
  18. But the role doesn't involve coaching, so I'm not sure why coaching badges would help. Those sound like reasons for him to be a striker coach, and I really wouldn't mind him passing on his knowledge of how to move in a penalty box and how to strike a ball to our goal-shy front line. But loan manager seems a job more about negotiation, keeping an eye on players out on loan and perhaps an understanding of who is ready for loan and what level they should go to. Those seem more like scouting skills (apart from negotiation) and beyond having been a footballer I don't see what qualifies him for this.
  19. Better than a black hole...is that our standard now? Nothing qualifies him for this role other than he used to play for the club with Gestede.
  20. You wanna fuck off somewhere else like? A Wrexham board maybe? We're kind of in the middle of a few things here. Been in Europe have you? You've never even been in the top flight or won a trophy that wasn't absolutely tinpot, so whatever backwater backdoor you accomplished that through doesn't even matter. I'm quite sure we'd have won the 'Welsh Cup' a few dozen times if we were eligible for it, given we've been above you in the leagues for almost every season we've both existed. There was no Cup Winners Cup when we won our trophies, and there was no Champions League or UEFA Cup etc during most of our title wins and top 6 finishes. You've had more European forays through quirks of the system at the time, and being Welsh, that's all. TBC, I didn't mean you're not an old club, and actually I respect small local clubs and I watch your documentary. I'm actually quite happy for you and your town, albeit jealous you've managed to land good owners whilst we languish with our fuckwits and no light at the end of the tunnel. But if you're going to pipe up...by fuck all history I meant it really pales into insignificance next to ours - founder members of the football league and Premiership, the first professional footballer, 3 league titles, 6 FA Cups, 1 League Cup, significant trophies across all three centuries, more than half of our history spent in the top flight. Congratulations, you were founded 11 years earlier than us, but you haven't ever been in the top flight or won anything anybody gives a ha'penny shit about. Your future looks brighter than ours at present, but your history isn't in the same stratosphere at all.
  21. And I'd argue that any player at this level should have an ounce of football intelligence already or they'd be playing for the Dog & Duck instead. We took that corner direct and with too many bodies in the box because we were going for a winner. That's a managerial choice.
  22. Why would we give him the name Pasha? It doesn't mean anything to us. My understanding was it was a bit of a nickname he has, but certainly not from the fans.
  23. Actually that's down to coaching and tactics, not player quality.
  24. If that's been sent to you in writing, could you post it up?
  25. If you mean Ohashi, Gudjohnsen doesn't seem to be better at it from the stats. We will see what happens obviously but it seems premature to assume he will easily displace Ohashi based on what is known.
