  1. U/18s 2 nill down after 25 mins against Man U.
  2. Think another 3/4 decent signings will be ok, Sharp from the LT got it right, signing 6/7 new signings plus Dack, Markanday who couldn’t play last season plus Vale and the academy lads Philips, A Wharton. Garret can step up. For some bizarre reason you do not recognise FFP and never have done, thankful the new management know we have to develop the kids and either use them or sell for decent money. Most people know next season it’s 90% wages to turnover and 2 years after 70%, we have to comply, your strategy is sh#t or bust. Bit like Mel Morris at Derby, went drastically wrong, you would splash out, give ridiculous wage increases to existing staff and hope for the best, I’m all for getting promotion but not at all costs, need to get the right players in who are good enough to step in the side and hopefully in the next few days they will do.
  3. Folk need to slow down, before a ball was kicked most thought first 7 games before deadline was a little tricky, and we need to get everyone in well before the deadline or we might be adrift, well 5 games in 9 points, not too shabby and Stoke and Blackpool to come, should be a few more points there as well regardless of any new bodies coming in early.Pretty confident we will get 3/4 in either this week or next and hopefully a bit of quality. Remember quite a few saying why can’t we be like ‘Boro getting signings in early, well after 5 games zero wins, goodness knows if we hadn’t won so far, this forum would be in meltdown. Still confident in the new set up, but I don’t expect miracles, takes time, but we do need some quality signings…
  4. Yeah think Der Berg will end up here on loan, and we will buy another, who, no idea.
  5. Who said we are still chasing him, more like the lad from Liverpool if they can decide to let go on loan.
  6. That’s still the case as far as I know, got told a while ago from someone who works for Brighton, saying because of a serious family issue, he would prefer to go on loan to either Holland or Belgium, unless he was in Brightons first team squad.
  7. Just thinking that myself, still a lot of places no water this morning including Ewood area.
  8. Our next 6 games, the same games last season brought in zero points, hopefully a lot better this season….
  9. What’s smart Alec about it. Folk always blaming someone at the club when they haven’t a clue what’s been offered, must be a nightmare negotiating with the slimy greedy agents, that’s the problem, not Rovers management, in THIS case.
  10. And how would you make him sign a professional contract, it’s very difficult how the system works, obviously with all the hype as to his talent, the big boys start sniffing and the agent wants him to sign for a big club and get his nice cut. For all the faults Waggot has you can’t keep blaming him for everything especially in this circumstance. Just tell me how you would get him to sign instead of Spurs, Man U etc. What you need to do is have a meeting with Waggot and tell him how to get his signature over the line…
  11. Correct👍 One great point from the management is they keep things under wraps, hardly any leaks, which somehow upsets a few fans, don’t know why. Britain came out the blue and then the lad said in his interview it had been going on a couple of weeks, as others could be at this very time, so I’ll sit back and wait patiently and hope they can announce 2/3 in the next week or two.
  12. You’re right, my main concern is getting from 140% to 70% in a few years, very difficult. Still think some players we are linked with want far and away more than £15k a week, I know we can sign players between 5k and 15k but getting quality players in on that is difficult.
  13. You’re right, but some on here don’t want to know, like FFP doesn’t exist, it does and even though everyone wants new faces in, including me we just can’t pay wages we can’t afford with our revenue, we have to be smart, get players in but without paying massive wages. Also we need quality players not just squad men, takes time when we are in our position and even though they are saying it’s a healthy budget we won’t be busting our wage structure, fingers crossed DOF can work some magic.
  14. Because he would agree he’s negative, just how some are, I’m the other way, my point is we just can’t go in for players and pay them what they want, it looks like we were serious for Davies just couldn’t match wages when you’re talking around £26/30 grand a week. We just have to bide our time and hopefully come up trumps with a couple of decent players we can afford, like Britain. Like I’ve said FFP isn’t going away in fact it’s getting tighter and shortly we won’t be able to spend more than 70% of turnover on wages, at the moment we are way over 100%. But there’s some on here who don’t want to know, think we won’t get punished, Derby went for it bent the rules and look what happened. For the first time in a while we’re got a DOF/ coach who seem to be tuned in. I will wait until the end of the transfer window before making my mind up if it’s a decent window. End of the day it’s a balancing act, try to attract decent players but without paying silly wages, unfortunately it’s not 1994 in the glory years it’s 2022, times have changed.
  15. Don’t think the majority are happy to gamble, but realistic to acknowledge it’s difficult getting players over the line, unless you’ve money to burn, most realise we might have to wait a bit nearer to the end of transfer window and see where we are then. Pointless to keep being negative when we don’t know what’s going on in the background..
