I understand that especially seeing Burnley and Preston doing early business, but he wanted to see what he’s got, squad wise while in Portugal and hopefully we are a bit nearer with a few quality signings, think it might be next week before one or two come on board. We need to get the permanent signings first because getting the usual loans from premier clubs will be last minute.

Agree, if and it’s a big if, Ayala keeps fit with Wharton and Carter steps up, 1 more decent c/b should be ok, personally think a Nyambe replacement shouldn’t be too hard to find, thought Nyambe was not too bad, but not improved, think we can do better.

Re Rothwell, if we’d sold him to a rival in January this M/B would have been in meltdown. Fair play to the owners for refusing good money but it went drastically wrong, now all the captain hindsight’s are saying we should have sold him, and you’re right no one knows how much we’ve offered the other 2, so why does everyone say we didn’t offer enough… might come out one day. I personally think Lenihan got a good offer but who knows.

Think most things re Rovers irritates you, you me and anyone on here don’t know what we offered them, most people think Lenihan was offered a good deal, but how far do you go. Same with Nyambe how much was he offered, we don’t know. So how can you bang on about it being enough. If Rovers thought Nyambe was worth £12000 and his agent thought he’s worth £20000 what do we do, just give it him. You’re on about Stoke/ Boro it used to be Derby, we’ve seen what happened there, Stoke look like losing a player they want to sign an extension but he’s run his contract down and wants out. That’s football, let’s see who we sign instead of all this doom and gloom. Enjoyed the couple of weeks on here when new DOF and manager arrived, but back to normal business now. Enjoy the season..

Yeah they could break their wage structure and offer silly money, we are trying to get our wage to turnover down, in the next few years it has to get down to 70% of turnover, not sure how it’s going to be done.

Totally agree, but the point I am saying if we have tried to renew, say Breretons contract last year and he won’t there’s nothing we can do, and if doesn’t want to move, again nothing we can do, it’s the folk on here saying we haven’t done anything when they haven’t a clue what’s been said

Short memory, this MB was awash with folk slagging him off, when it was tough going with plenty saying get rid. The problem is you think we can sign everybody on 4 year contracts and then renew every 2 years, you don’t seem to care about FFP, if nothing happens you think there hasn’t even been contact to renew, if players don’t want to commit there’s not much we can do about it. It happens at all clubs, even Stoke who you seem to compare with us. They want Joe Allen to renew but he’s run his contract down and is leaving. We all need to criticise the club when needs be, but relentless criticism when we don’t have the full facts is wrong IMO.

Not saying we are run well, my point is you were saying we should be run like Derby, you got that one wrong, now saying we should be run like ‘Boro who probably are sailing close to the wind with FFP, I’ll wait till end of transfer window and see where we are before making any predictions.

Pretty certain it’s the length of contract that’s sealed it for Lenihan to ‘Boro, not sure Rovers are handing out long contracts anymore to 27/28 year olds.

Oh yes they have, one only this afternoon saying he doesn’t feel he can part with his money with the calibre of candidates on offer, even though no one actually knows anything, 1 guy last week waiting with his 2 daughters to see the name and if not up to his standard none of them will be going. Plenty more saying the same, can’t believe it myself but that’s life…

No problem, everyone supports the club differently, I’ll support them as I like, criticise when I want but I certainly don’t make decisions on buying a season ticket on the whims of rumours on here.

Some good points, and yes we needed to get the season tickets at more reasonable prices, to entice the doubters, but my main gripe is fans on here saying they might give it a miss because of the calibre of candidates, when no one has a clue who these supposedly 3 candidates are, folk just going off ITK on here, even most of the journalists haven’t a clue and like I said whoever gets it we won’t know if it’s a success until well into the season.
