  1. Same with Bolton in the mid 00's. 3 seasons on the trot there we struggled to shift 1500 tickets. Again I think they tried to take the piss with prices a bit, but theres nothing as strange as a Rovers away following.
  2. Never as many as 8k. From the mid 80s to the mid 90s though we always took somewhere between 3 and 5k. Remember going in 2002 after we had come back up and hardly anyone went, away followings at Leeds seemed to drop dramatically at that time, and never recovered. (Although nowadays its down to pricing I'd say)
  3. Doesn't mean he doesn't talk shit in the LET though.
  4. I do think some people tend to over egg how good our squad is. I do think we have some good players, and as said before I think we're definitely hampered by some poor management, but you only have to look at the defensive options in this squad to know that even the mighty Alex Neil wouldn't have this side in the top 6. As for Saturday, maybe we have a spring in our step after finally scoring an injury time winner last weekend, be delighted if we come away with a 1-1. £40 though is crazy, last time I went to Leeds was on New Years day 2014, think we won 2-1, think the ticket was £36 and only went as it was a chance for a bit of a session with some lads who I hadn't seen for a while. I can't get my head around anyone paying £40 for a nothing second division match, but each to there own.
  5. Fair enough. I quite like the thought of Arma, Dack and Rothwell as the "attacking 3" with Travis & Holtby behind them if we are to persist with the 4231. I do look forward to seeing if your predictions about Buckley come true, I hope they do.
  6. Indeed, I always find it fascinating debating football as two people rarely see everything the same. Where would you play Holtby out of interest? I see him as an attacking central midfielder coming from deep who can chip in with the odd goal, play a killer pass, and who can put his foot in aswell rather than a number 10 type player who plays off the forward, if you look at his career stats he doesn't score enough goals for a number 10, and please dont go all Mowbray on me and suggest he should play as a wide forward! Think Travis and Holtby would make a cracking midfield pair if given 10/12 games together.
  7. I'll take this bet, there is no way Travis & Buckley will be our two regular central midfielders by christmas, or even this season. It would be madness anyway when we have Holtby on the books, he really should be in that position with Travis.
  8. @Paul Mani i noticed you said earlier that you expect Buckley to be a regular starter by Christmas. If so, where does he play? I personally dont think he'll be a regular starter for a good while yet, if ever.
  9. I can certainly see your reasoning with most of this post, and would be inclined to agree, but the bit in bold, is never, ever going to happen, and for me is the most frustrating thing about the Mowbray regime so far.
  10. If he's getting a taxi anyway, I think I'd rather get a taxi to Livesey and drink in a few real pubs than drink in the Postal Order, but each to there own I guess.
  11. I think it's a category B game, so tickets will set you back somewhere between £22/£29 depending where you want to sit. Think there are two trains an hour to Blackburn from Manchester, one is slightly long winded though that goes through Accrington etc. Pubs, a few down Livesey branch road, Lord Raglan, White Bull, Brown Cow, Moorgate, Fox and Hounds should see you right for a few pre match pints, Only about a 10/15 minute walk from the Lord Raglan past all the other pubs to Ewood.
  12. Also £20 at WBA, yet we will be charging them £28 when they come here. You can see people lapping it up over on social media about this myth with the Sheff Wed prices, "well its what they charge us so fair play". No it isn't.
  13. Also category A are Wigan on a Monday night on Sky, and Stoke on a Wednesday night in February. Crazy, crazy pricing.
  14. Or you could argue that if he had bought on Evans 10 minutes earlier, then we would have probably conceded two.
  15. Absolutely not, and the only reason you suggest it is because he played here. I can't imagine you would take a punt on any other of the managers in the top 10 of the national league.
  16. Agree with the rest, but that bit in bold, them 4 I don't I don't think will ever be regular starters here with the likes of Bennett, Evans and Armstrong here. They should all be banging down the door to get out of here in January to play some real football, won't be long until they start to ho backwards in the u23s.
  17. Is today the day we finally get that injury time winner under Mowbray?
  18. Just over 11k home fans on today, obviously a few will have bought the 3 game bundle, and a few will have got there tickets discounted through the 1875 club. Would love to know how many actually bought a full price ticket for today though.
  19. Be interesting how PNE carry on if it happens. Looks a crazy move on paper but money talks, and is all 99% of people in football are bothered about.
  20. No, we'll carry on appointing no hopers until the end of time. Bobbing along at the bottom end of this league or the one below.
  21. I reckon Nyambe will be made the scapegoat for what happened at deepdale and Bennett will be back in at right back, Evans & Travis in midfield. Who knows with the rest of the side. A 1-1 draw to keep the fans at bay until the Barnsley game.
  22. I feel like I have read that before, months ago! It's a nothing story.
  23. It's a strange one anyway, £40 or not Sheff Wed haven't bought more than 3k here for years.
