Happened again with Mansfield back in 2016. Logic dictates cancelling the friendly, but then we would have two weeks between our last pre season game and the start of the season. If it gets cancelled it will be because Stockport want it to, there's no chance our lot will want to go to the trouble of finding someone else to play at this late notice.

Exactly what I think will happen. Szmodics will be a slow burner, I think he starts the season with us, then if he hits a few goals before deadline day and say a Leicester, Ipswich etc are struggling they will hit us with a last minute offer which like you say we'll take.

There's no way our lot will be able to reschedule something else in it's place so I imagine that will still go ahead, unless they cancel it i suppose
