Just to put our £10k per week wage cap into perspective. Yesterday Josh Brownhill turned down a deal which could have been worth £100k per week at Leicester. £40k a week basic and £3m promotion bonus.

Think Gardner Hickman will be CM (majority of his appearances have been there). Also think Miller will be RB which leaves us dangerously short at CB. Miller used in emergency for now.

Just can’t see Josh calling her out if he wasn’t sure.

CM is where he’s played most of his games I believe. That’s where I see him being used here as we need a workhouse in the travis mould. This will be him.

If he’d bagged 15 goals last season he wouldn’t be signing for us (take a look at what Ipswich have just spent on a new signing from the same league). Young players can have a bad season, it happens. He may not have settled in Belgium. There could be many reasons why it’s not worked out for him. I mentioned Woldemate previously. He was released by Bremen on a free after one bad season, a year later and he’s going for silly money. We just don’t know how the new lad will get on but it’s an exciting signing with potential. It’s another decent length contract so let’s hope he performs. The window has been interesting. Some good and some bad so far. Our current run of 1 win in 5 is a massive concern and needs to be turned around quickly. I have a horrible feeling we’ll come to regret signing an injured CM. Personally think we needed a proper replacement for Travis. Just hoping that there is some interest in Browne, he’d be perfect.

Are you sure? It’s the first I’ve heard of established players not counting. At what point does a player become established? I thought it was any player who had come through our academy or even another English academy??

I would have preferred a loan but if a loan hadn’t gone well we’d potentially be getting a lot less for him. I would hope for a decent sell on but as the fee is fairly decent for an unproven player with a history of injuries I’m guessing it’s on the lower %.

He only went to Stuttgart on a free as he didn’t manage to score in his 23 top flight games the season before, he actually left Bremen with 2 league goals in 51 games. Kind of similar to this lad tbf as he had a great season on loan in the lower leagues and then couldn’t make the step up, left on a free after a poor season and then smashed it at the U21 euros and got a decent return for Stuttgart. Im sure if we’d got Woltamade free last season people would have been concerned as he’d come off the back of a bad season and had only scored in the lower German leagues (think Telelovic).

But Ismael said it was one in (winger) and then others would be replacements. This was said BEFORE Beradji came in so he must be a replacement for Trav. So maybe Ismael was stretching the truth Chaddy. You know how much you dislike a manager who isn’t 100% truthful with you!!

It’s interesting that even after Morsy left in the summer Ipswich didn’t make a move for Travis. You would have thought he may have been on their radar if he was rated during the loan spell there.

I’m not sure how using a slot for a kid who never got anywhere near the first team is evidence of them ‘using the esc slots better than most’. I’d call it a complete shambles but hey ho.

Love Morishita already. He’s going to be a character that’s for sure. Let’s hope he can play a bit too 🙂
