Aren’t you more likely to overspend if you leave it late and the selling club has you over a barrel? We need to strengthen and need to do it soon as there a lot of points to play for in January.

Unfortunately I’ll be watching from home. The 310 mile round trip with all of the weather warnings in place for later on just wasn’t a good move. Hopefully it’ll be better for the Preston game at the end of the month as that’s my next planned home trip. Oxford and Bristol make it a busy football month for me but this is obviously sickener to miss 😞 line up will be tricky. Last time we played them we had Carter and Hyam at the back whjch never looked as settled as Batth and Hyam have recently. We’ll miss Travis massively for this one but hoping Baker can do a job. He was ok at Leeds and I’m not sure JRC or Buckley have done enough to start in front of him. Get into them early doors and make it a diffficult game for them. Hopefully they will attack us and we can take advantage of the gaps in a similar way to we did against Leeds at Ewood. If they sit back we could end up struggling like we did against Stoke and Hull. We just need to win. That’s the long and short of it

All I’m saying is that if it was us being linked to Baidoo Chaddy would have been calling it out as an amazing signing after he’s scored 5 goals in the Europa this season. As soon as he’s gone to someone where else he’s questioning the calibre of clearly a decent player. Just find it amusing that’s all. if we end up with a better player then great. Just not convinced we will. Markanday will be hailed as the second coming by Swag and Rudy as we drag our arses over deadline day.
-
Surely a better Calibre than any of our front line after scoring 5 in European comps.
-
I’m assuming Batth and Hyam will both get a rest for the FA Cup game. They deserve it. I can’t see Hill coming in as cover and I’d be against changing a settled back four. They are playing well together so don’t try to fix it if it’s not broken. We are however a CB injury away from being in a bit of bother before Carter returns next month. A loan as cover would be ideal.

93rd minute winner 😞 sickening!
-
Yep, he’s not going to be able to appeal it as it was a blatant stamp. Levels up us missing Trav as they are both their respective teams WUMs.

I predict that we won’t sign anyone of the quality required. Maybe a couple of kids but nobody of note. The excuse from the club will be around formalising the chief scout role, it’s a ready made excuse for them.

Wondering if Cantwell wasn’t well for the last game as he certainly wasn’t at his best. -
The build up to the window is always a fun time on here. Chaddy calling out anyone who dares to use the previous umpteen windows as evidence that we won’t make the required signings whilst drawing up a list of x number of players or x number of ££ we’ll spend. When it fails to materialise (again) it’s all roses in the chaddy garden as we must have tried and the club need to be trusted. The lack of quality signings this window has already been pre planned with the ready made excuse about the new head scout not being in place in time to get the required players through the door.

Batth gets another season mate, reckon that’s a cert and probably already agreed. At that point we have Wharton back and Carter back as well. That’s the only reason I’m thinking a loan to give us cover until they are back. If this lad is as good as some of the comments though then it’s a no brainer. Let’s be honest though, there’s probably not a single position on the pitch where one injury doesn’t leave us without cover at the moment. We have a really small squad which lacks quality in depth. We’ve seen that with the loss of Travis.
-
The young CB is an interesting one. Obviously very highly rated by them so it definitely seems like a good appointment. Must spell the end for Riordon though. Id argue it’s not a priority position for us and if we were to bring someone in there a loan would make more sense as we have two players due back later in the year. We are not scoring enough and that’s clearly the area we need to be looking at.

Stockport are about to lose Louis Barry and I know a few on here have mentioned him as an option. Reckon villa will chase the money though and loan him to a Sunderland or Burnley. It does open up a space in the Stockport squad and I wonder if it would be an attractive option for Leonard as a loan. My only worry is that they’ve had Barry who has been immense for them so if Leonard doesn’t hit the ground running it could knock his confidence as he’d potentially get a bit of shit from their fans. Only way he goes out on loan is if we bring in another forward. I’d like some experience. Wonder if Southampton would let a forward go out on loan. I’d be keen to see if Paul Onuachu is available. He may not want to drop down a league but he’s getting limited match time and would fit the mould for us. Same build is Guaye but has a good scoring record as well. We’ve clearly got a bit of history with Brighton regarding loans. I can’t imagine any chance that we get Evan Ferguson on loan but I wonder if there is anyone else they may look to loan out. They are looking to send Jamie Mullins out on loan as their U21 manager has said he’s too good for that level. Young attacking midfielder so may not be exactly what we’re after but wouldn’t be surprised if we are linked. Duffus and Peupion are others in their academy who may look to go out on loan. Ideally we get an experienced forward to lead the line but I expect us to go down the route of young players from the prem and likely to come from clubs we’ve dealt with previously. Hence why the Brighton mentions above.

I’d suggest that we look to make a few changes for Sunday, not sweeping changes but just the opportunity to make sure we can go into the Burnley game with as strong a squad as possible. Travis will already be a huge miss for that. He’s the one player we have who could really get in their heads and just be a general shithouse! -

Yeah because who would loan out one of their best midfielders to another team in the same league…. Oh yeah, we did. -
I came on to suggest Bamford as an out of form option but I’ve read the last posts and given myself a slap.

Millwall have had some decent home results this season. They’ve beaten Leeds at home already (as have we). I’d be happy with a draw in this one. A win would set us up nicely for the tough home games we have coming up against Sunderland and that lot down the road. -

The biggest praise for Batth is that we’ve not missed Carter at all since he’s been injured. -

So 4 away wins for the first time since…… last season lol. They mentioned it on the commentary but if i hadn’t have heard it I would have thought it was a good few years since we last managed that. After all the talk of how well Sunderland have done we’re a home game against Portsmouth away from going above them in the league. -

I was just going to ask Chaddy the same question 😄 -
If Hill comes back here he starts every game. He’s not sitting behind Batth on the bench. Hill would be our best defender and would need to start.

at todays AGM the Rangers FC board confirmed they received a total of £810,000 for the sales of Todd Cantwell, Connor Goldson, Sam Lammers, Scott Wright and Robby McCrorie just copied that from a FB post. I wonder what we actually paid for Cantwell based on that. Although I wonder if that is the total transfer fees received or just the first instalment. Looks like Rangers fans aren’t happy that they’ve let players leave for small amounts.

We do like to shoot ourselves in the foot sometimes. Give them 7000 tickets and then unable to sell them beer before the game. Surely there should be a back up plan in place when card machines aren’t available.
