Kargbo with the dummy to shoot which drew the defenders away from Dolan. Very clever play. -

Cantwell is such an annoying player to watch. That deserved so much more after the work from Dolan. -

I think Forshaw knew what he was doing with the celebration despite looking like he was pointing out a family member in the stand he cleverly did it right in front of the bench -

Watched Bundu who is up front for them when he was at Hartbury college and played non league at Hereford. Hoping he has a shocker today. Hardie going off is good for us as he was their form player. -

Strange line up for me. Buckley off the back of his best game gets dropped. I’d be playing him today. ACD our worst sub midweek and gets a start. -

Kargbo to start today for me although I have a feeling it’ll be an unchanged side apart from Sanderson for Batth if he’s injured. -

Gueyes all round play on Wednesday was much better as well. Held it up really well. Another performance like that and we win the game. The two big CBs for Plymouth will make it tough for him. -

They come here off the back of a decent 2-2 draw away at Sunderland in their last away game. -
In 2 out of the previous 3 seasons we’ve been better placed and still managed to fuck it so not sure why it would be a shock this season lol.
-
The gap between 4th and 5th is the same as the gap between 5th and 18th. That probably highlights the gulf between the top 4 and the others. The only real shock out of that is Sunderland and how good they have been coupled with how bad Luton have been. It’s going to be a fight to the wire and I could imagine 5th and 6th could be decided on the final day of the season. I also think one of the teams outside of the playoffs could sneak in. On paper Boro and Norwich have decent squads and both should go close. However we are in the driving seat and could hold onto one of the spots as long as our form picks back up. It’s amazing that we are still in the mix after the run we have been on.

All the teams around Derby have two games in hand. They are in serious trouble and will need an impressive upturn in form to survive. I’d expect Luton to improve and Plymouth are on the up (hopefully not tomorrow).

Didn’t realise what good form they were in tbf. Good away draw at Sunderland followed by three home wins -
I thought Carsley was tactically poor with England and wouldn’t be keen on him. I’d prefer a bit more experience.
-
Boetang was with us before doing some coaching wasn’t he? Not sure when it was but wondering if he would have worked with any of the players who are now with the first team after coming through the youth. Personally think it would be a poor choice which is why it will probably end up happening.

Whoever it is should be getting the £750k Eustace compensation as a promotion bonus. All they are being asked to do is keep us in the position we are currently in and then the play offs are a bit of a lottery. It should be really attractive to someone. i know it’s been done to death but we don’t want anyone coming in and trying to change too much (Amorin are you listening). Just motivate the boys and welcome back the injured players.

O’Neils management career has all been in the top flight. Arguably a better CV than the other names mentioned. He’s not my first choice but I think I’d be ok with him. Seems a decent guy who could come in and hopefully push us to the playoffs. Ideally we get the new manager boost with whoever comes in.
-
lol, a couple…. They sold 17 players over the summer. It’s hardly a couple is it
-
I’m not sure many would have picked Eustace at the time we appointed him. It could be a completely left field shout, hopefully in place pretty soon. I was impressed with Gary O’Neil at Bournemouth. They sold about £150m of players under him at Wolves so no shock he struggled a bit there. Wouldn’t be against him at all. I’ve already mentioned that Cooper would be the one for me but think the issue there sounds like it would be the payoff to Leicester.

We ended last season with away games at Leeds and Leicester and won them both. -

Weirdly this game concerns me more than WBA did. These lot are a completely different outfit to the Plymouth under Rooney (who already beat us once this season). They’ve not been good away from home but we’ve seen before that we’re pretty good at ending other teams losing runs. -
We need a manager who plays a similar way. Someone who can knit the players together and continue with the unity that we’ve seen in the Squad. For me the best for that would be Cooper or Edwards. I would imagine either would fancy it with us in the top 5. It’s a free hit for a manager. Get us promoted and they are a hero, fail and the majority of the fans will rightly blame the shit show behind the scenes.

Echo that Rev. I do think they’ll go down as well.

That statement is much more professional than the last one. The significant investment nonsense has gone and been replaced by the truth. We did strengthen (slightly) in January. Someone took the keyboard off Swaggot by the looks of things.
-
Definitely a sense of Miff’s getting his excuses in as well though. The old ‘we lost because they were exceptionally good’ rather than it being assisted by his tactics. His trusty option of chucking on as many forwards as possible with no real sense of where they were going to play. We were exceptionally good though.

David Lowes interview on the rovers site refers to the players giving it a ‘right good go!’ We’ve heard that before lol
