Yep, it’s a win win situation. The only issue is that some of the targets may still be being compensated from being sacked and taking our job would impact on that. On that basis I can’t see a Cooper type target taking a short term gig and losing the Leicester money.
-
Just to echo my point. 14 managers have lost their jobs in the championship this season (excluding caretaker managers)
-
I honestly think that there will be interest in the job. A manager will want a promotion on their CV. We all know the play offs are a lottery and literally anything can happen. An out of work manager will see it as a chance to come in without changing too much and get a place in the top 6. It’s a win win job as you can just blame the owners and the shit show above if you fail to make the play off spots. It really is a win win job for a short term project. There’s no stability but in reality what’s the average championship managers term been recently, the turn over is pretty rapid.

He’s been linked in the press

Really could have done with them not sacking the manager. Usually a reaction so it makes Saturday harder.
-
I still think he expected to get a new contract and the players contracts sorted. I think Derby were used to try to get what he wanted but it all went wrong. I bet he didn’t see ‘that’ press release coming at all.

I wouldn’t be putting Portsmouth away as a win. Their home form is on a par with Norwich and Coventry. A draw there and a win at Luton would be my prediction. Interestingly Swansea are second bottom in the home table (Hull are bottom) so we really should be pushing for the three points there.
-
I’ve said from the start that Cooper would be my preferred but I’d also happily take Gary O’Neil.
-
Probably the better result for us with Leeds winning with the last kick
-
Completely disagree on Cooper being a money manager. Took Forest up on a shoestring and only spent when they got promoted. That team currently sit in the champions league spots so I’d suggest the spending wasn’t bad at all.
-
Boro will be a way more attractive job than ours so I expect the best candidates to be hanging on for that one now. How far have we fallen to have to admit that the Boro job is a better one than the rovers job. Wouldn’t have been an issue had we moved quickly and got the new manager in post already.

Anyone know if Travis grew up as a Liverpool fan? I know he was at Liverpool for 10 years before he joined us.

Interesting fixtures this week. Leeds v Sunderland is an interesting one at the top of the table with Luton v Plymouth being massive at the other end of the table. A Luton win would put them right in the mix to potentially push Derby down 😄 Friday sees 4 playoff teams all playing and as mentioned a couple of draws would be lovely there. Saturday sees the playoff teams with some easier (on paper) fixtures. We’ve got a tricky one down in Swansea.

That’s a really bad list when you think it’s probably currently the best available job in English football. A chance to get to the premier league (although you’ll be working under clowns). Id actually be pretty disappointed with anyone on that list. Yep, Ricky doesn’t even want Wicky!!

I’d be considering Buckley in the Cantwell role once Sonny is back. I’ve slated Buckley previously but in the last few games he really seems to have got some confidence and form back. He’s spraying passes around and switching the play from left to right at ease. Cantwell was a bit better yesterday but he is still not at the level he should be. -
I don’t think anyone would have been happy with Lampard and that’s turned out pretty well for Coventry so far.

Kargbo with the dummy to shoot which drew the defenders away from Dolan. Very clever play. -

Cantwell is such an annoying player to watch. That deserved so much more after the work from Dolan. -

I think Forshaw knew what he was doing with the celebration despite looking like he was pointing out a family member in the stand he cleverly did it right in front of the bench -

Watched Bundu who is up front for them when he was at Hartbury college and played non league at Hereford. Hoping he has a shocker today. Hardie going off is good for us as he was their form player. -

Strange line up for me. Buckley off the back of his best game gets dropped. I’d be playing him today. ACD our worst sub midweek and gets a start. -

Kargbo to start today for me although I have a feeling it’ll be an unchanged side apart from Sanderson for Batth if he’s injured. -

Gueyes all round play on Wednesday was much better as well. Held it up really well. Another performance like that and we win the game. The two big CBs for Plymouth will make it tough for him. -

They come here off the back of a decent 2-2 draw away at Sunderland in their last away game. -
In 2 out of the previous 3 seasons we’ve been better placed and still managed to fuck it so not sure why it would be a shock this season lol.
