  1. His nephew is my plasterer if that’s any sort of claim to fame lol.
  2. Would Conor Mahoney be worth a look? He’s on a free and has never really made the step up that was expected. Still young enough to do it though.
  3. I’d feel more confident of JDT convincing a player to sign for us than I would have Mowbray.
  4. We need to either get him signed up to a new contract or sold. Easy as that. No messing about like we did with the other three. Put a good offer on the table on the basis of not being able to afford for him to walk away on a free. If he doesn’t sign it we have to sell this summer.
  5. Ash turned 17 over the weekend so assuming he couldn’t sign a contract until then so maybe it is a recent pic. Anyone know if he’s out in Portugal? It May be him and Carter filling the voids but I’d be concerned about that tbf. I think we need one older head and then give Carter a season with Philips being around the first team and used in the cups this season.
  6. Agreed. He’s had a successful loan spell in the league above the team that Wharton went to. They are keen to keep him. He’s now had two good loan spells in league one and will want to push on to hold down a championship place. Best position is the right side of a back three according to Portsmouth fans (my office is in Petersfield so I know a few fans from down there)
  7. Is he any better than our own player in Carter? He’s also had rave reviews from Portsmouth.
  8. I know I’ve mentioned it before but I think we’ll see a lot more of Carter for the one CB slot with another signed / loaned.
  9. Which managers would JDT have played under? I’m guessing there are some big names based on the clubs he’s been at.
  10. Pleased he’s been able to bring in two of his own staff. Think that will be an important factor over the season. Genuinely excited about the appointment.
  11. Could we see Ben at the World Cup with the news that Ecuador could be thrown out for fielding an illegible player. All games he played in are reverted to 3-0 losses which moved Chile from 4th to 6th.
  12. Portsmouth fans are desperate for them to sign Carter so hoping he is the one who can make a step up. Wharton made a decent step up after promotion with Northampton and Carter has been playing at a level above that.
  13. Awful link to try to read as the ads make it jump all over the place on an iPhone. What I could read of it does make it seem like he’s be a great candidate though.
  14. Well I’d never heard of him but reading some of the links shared make me quite happy about the whole thing. Seems like he’s been a big part of the success of Glimt recently.
  15. Carter has had a strong loan at Portsmouth with the fans wanting him signed. Be interesting to see if he makes the step up and fills one of the gaps left by Lenihan and Van Hecke.
  16. Interested based on the conversations on here around the odds meaning nothing https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/notts-county-manager-omulo-bennun-27120581?fbclid=IwAR1PnASIMO2relgvNuWhAPX9oS8_vBAmzjo62lFiJi4n17D33OAIxQIOb1Y
  17. What about the other Championship and Premier League teams who haven’t played there yet? There’s another 4 in the Championship and Prem.
  18. Huge promotion bonus maybe the only option. If he’s confident that he can deliver then maybe he would take a chance on a £2m promotion bonus or something like that. It would be a drop in the ocean if we went up.
  19. But even his stock had fallen badly after a very bad run at Swansea. I doubt the Forest fans were all over the moon when he was named. It’s another case of a club and manager being a perfect fit.
  20. When he went from here an ex colleague of mine emailed me as he had turned up at the Council where he was a Director. Seems that he worked in LA for quite a bit.
  21. Got home about an hour ago after a good day out. Dragged a couple of non rovers fans along for a day out. Thought we started well and I thought their first goal was offside but I may be wrong. They took their chances and I do think that maybe 3 at the back would have been a better formation. All in all a good day out though. Disappointed that we haven’t made the playoffs but we probably finished higher that I thought we would after losing Arma last year and not really replacing him.
