  1. I actually quite liked Wallace when I’ve seen him previously. Just not sure he’s what we need at this time. Bamfords finishing is awful, as mentioned previously. Phil suggested investing in some very good loans. Im not against that idea at all. Bring in some top quality for the second half of the season. I’ve mentioned Danns already, that’s one I’d like to see us go for. I know he’s young but I think there’s some real quality in there and he could score goals at this level. Was keen for us to look at Barry as well but I think he may have gone to Derby.
  2. Leeds fans really don’t rate Bamford. Statistically he’s recent performances have made him one of the worst strikers in European football.
  3. Jayden Danns post match interview was excellent today. Very level headed and the boy can certainly play! I’d like to think his dad might put a word in for us as well. He’d be an excellent signing on loan. Young but a real talent.
  4. Buckley update. Three yard pass….. clean out of play.
  5. Buckleys just gone from an attacking move to pass the ball backwards to Tronstad, tronstad was 2 yards away and he missed the past and had Tronstad running backwards to recover the ball. Just looks like he’s lacking any confidence at all.
  6. The Forshaw signing is more of a worry for me as it’s a position where he’s likely to need to play and arguably hasn’t been good enough. Unlike the Birmingham fans who seem to rate Dion, the Plymouth fans couldn’t wait to get rid of Forshaw. He’s a downgrade from Baker IMO.
  7. More yellow cards than goals and assists combined this season .
  8. So you wouldn’t have been happy if we’d signed Stansfield then, based on him playing for a relegated team. Birmingham conceded less goals than us last season too. Im not against this signing at all. Nobody expected Batth to come in and play as many games as he has. Also many didn’t expect him to be as good as he has been based on him not playing much and not really being rated by the fans of his previous team. Blues fans I know seem to like Sanderson. Asked this morning and one comment was ‘some of Dions best performances were under big John’ and ‘he’s been very good at times but seems to have lost confidence’. I mentioned at the start of the window that I thought we may bring in CB cover and think that’s what we’ve done here. Wonder if he’ll replace Batth for next season when we have Carter and Wharton back as well.
  9. Sunderland signing a midfielder from Roma with a promotion clause of £20m while we’re looking at a lad who can’t get a game for Cov 😄
  10. Wonder if Stockport have asked about Leonard. They’ve just lost a loan forward so could be looking for one.
  11. What’s quite good is that you can use two ticket from your allocation in any one game which makes it attractive to couples or friends. Split it between a couple of people if you are planning on doing a couple of games and there could be some value in it. Im coming up for Preston but that’s probably my only home game. If I could do a couple more it would be tempting to split it with someone.
  12. Spot on Josh. They can spend but if they choose to spend is another matter. It’s typically a bad time to try to strengthen in one of the most important areas of the pitch (striker). You haven’t got the out of contract players to target and teams won’t want to sell players who are scoring for them bang in the middle of the season. I think we’ll struggle to get the quality we need for a promotion push. We’ll be ok and end up in mid table as we’ll add a couple of new signings but I can’t see us being able to bring in the quality we need.
  13. Plymouth not scoring enough goals and went and spent £1.5m on a striker as early as they could in the window, didn’t even use the excuse of waiting on the new manager, just went and got it done. According to our resident transfer expert he wouldn’t have improved our squad though. Scored 5 goals in the europa this season against top flight teams, but wouldn’t improve our squad…. You couldn’t write it! Schlupp only comes if a contract is in place for him at the end of the loan. That’s event mentioned on the Nixon post. He’ll be looking for a final payday and I’d be avoiding it. Not against the Sam Surridge suggestion from Chaddy. I’m sure there are others out there as well but we do need to act quickly as we could waste 5 league games before the window closes otherwise. Those 5 games are all against teams that we should be beating and will define our season. We can’t afford to stumble through those matches and pick up draws and defeats. We really need to be active now and getting some real quality in, I quite like the suggestion of Kent but there are questions about his attitude. He’s a better age than Sclupp and would potentially be a better investment but he’s also been out of the game for a while
  14. Should have scored the header
  15. I think Cantwell has a lot to offer still. I just think he’s been off it since the suspension. Today he was poor but there’s a player in there. He wasn’t the only poor one today but he should have been hauled off after an hour but it probably highlights how thin our squad is that he stayed on.
  16. Kicking off at Parker at full time
  17. Couple of really bad set pieces so far. We won’t get a load of chances, we need to make those count.
  18. Aren’t you more likely to overspend if you leave it late and the selling club has you over a barrel? We need to strengthen and need to do it soon as there a lot of points to play for in January.
  19. Unfortunately I’ll be watching from home. The 310 mile round trip with all of the weather warnings in place for later on just wasn’t a good move. Hopefully it’ll be better for the Preston game at the end of the month as that’s my next planned home trip. Oxford and Bristol make it a busy football month for me but this is obviously sickener to miss 😞 line up will be tricky. Last time we played them we had Carter and Hyam at the back whjch never looked as settled as Batth and Hyam have recently. We’ll miss Travis massively for this one but hoping Baker can do a job. He was ok at Leeds and I’m not sure JRC or Buckley have done enough to start in front of him. Get into them early doors and make it a diffficult game for them. Hopefully they will attack us and we can take advantage of the gaps in a similar way to we did against Leeds at Ewood. If they sit back we could end up struggling like we did against Stoke and Hull. We just need to win. That’s the long and short of it
  20. All I’m saying is that if it was us being linked to Baidoo Chaddy would have been calling it out as an amazing signing after he’s scored 5 goals in the Europa this season. As soon as he’s gone to someone where else he’s questioning the calibre of clearly a decent player. Just find it amusing that’s all. if we end up with a better player then great. Just not convinced we will. Markanday will be hailed as the second coming by Swag and Rudy as we drag our arses over deadline day.
  21. Surely a better Calibre than any of our front line after scoring 5 in European comps.
  22. I’m assuming Batth and Hyam will both get a rest for the FA Cup game. They deserve it. I can’t see Hill coming in as cover and I’d be against changing a settled back four. They are playing well together so don’t try to fix it if it’s not broken. We are however a CB injury away from being in a bit of bother before Carter returns next month. A loan as cover would be ideal.
  23. 93rd minute winner 😞 sickening!
  24. Yep, he’s not going to be able to appeal it as it was a blatant stamp. Levels up us missing Trav as they are both their respective teams WUMs.
  25. I predict that we won’t sign anyone of the quality required. Maybe a couple of kids but nobody of note. The excuse from the club will be around formalising the chief scout role, it’s a ready made excuse for them.
