The Summer Transfer Window (Press Submit)

I’d rather buy him as surely they can’t be asking a lot as he’s out of the team completely. There’s an interview where he speaks highly of Eustace for giving him his chance. Looks like the injuries are an issue but if fit could be a good prospect. -

Looks like Hall missed pretty much the whole of last season with hamstring injuries. Not featured this season and didnt even make the carabao cup squad when they made 8 changes. -

I thought we were linked when he left Cardiff and generally it was a very negative view from the fanbase. -

Just got back from a wedding to a message from my nephew: For context they played together at Cardiff when they were in the under 18s. -

He was injured and had a back spasm the night before the match. Nothing in it. -

There’s definitely a push around Travis isn’t there. If he’s sold now it’s been made very clear that it’s not his or the managers choice. -

I saw a football finance thing recently, it may have been posted on here, saying that Ipswich took a massive risk on getting promoted last year and if they hadn’t they would have fallen foul of financial fair play rules. I was surprised but it sounds like they spent big to get into the championship and needed to go up again. Obviously they did so it’s a moot point but maybe shows the risk element involved. -

No Iversen on the bench for Leicester tonight. Move on the cards or just below Danny Ward as the backup there. -

Our home form nearly cost us our place in the league last season. Need to build from a strong home form and pick up some points away. We don’t want to be having to go to the top teams having to win (like we did last season). Oxford will be decent, full of confidence and will come out of the blocks quickly trying to quieten the home fans. We have enough attacking options to cause them problems as well. Expect BTTs and the odd goal either way, hopefully our way. -

I had a similar experience when I spotted that Dominic Samual played for us last time we played Oxford at Ewood. -

Chaddy won’t see this as I’m one of the many many people who he has blocked for challenging his nonsense. The Delap thing is something he seems to have got hung up on. Delap is 8 years younger than Sammy, where was Sammy 8 years ago?? He was on loan at Braintree. It then took him until 5 years ago (so Delap would have three more years) to get a Championship move when he managed a massive 3 games for Bristol. Thats why Delap is going for decent money. He’s way ahead of where Sammy was at a similar age. -

I think the signing of Germain is sensible as it could also help Yuki settle. We need a keeper for the future, not a stop gap like Krul or Ruddy. -

I know Chaddy likes to spout ‘pacey winger’ at every opportunity but do we really play with old school wingers? Are we looking at more of a wide forward than the traditional ‘hugging the touch line‘ winger of old? That’s my assumption anyway, and if that’s the case it’s not really going to help getting balls into the box for Mak to attack… unless we are talking about proper wingers and basically changing our formation. -

How much did you lose on your licence to print money then @Mercer You’d be here quick enough spouting off about which bottle of red you’d bought had it come in. -
So the ‘awful’ Derby side we beat get a win against a decent Boro team. Leeds struggle again and Luton held against a promoted team. Welcome to the championship

I’m probably ok with it. I think we have to get a keeper. For me, if we just get a keeper we will be pretty light in places but I do think our defence instantly becomes better. A nervous keeper who doesn’t come for crosses makes for a nervous defence. I could probably be ok with one permanent player coming in if it was a keeper. I do think we need to use the loan market better though. We need to get the calibre of Elliot, Khadra, JPVH and Harwood-Bellis and not the recent ones of Moran, Clarkson and the Liverpool defender whose name escapes me. -

Khadra could be an interesting one if available. Looked decent in the loan spell but not done a great deal since. Ayari would also be interesting, I don’t think we used him enough as I do think there’s a decent player in there. Depends if we want to use pace down the wings though. Don’t think Khadra or Ayari help us with that. -

Just went to put Sammy in my fpl league. £6m which ours him at more than Smith-Rowe and Carvalho and on a par with Muniz from Fulham who was a big points scorer last season. -

Hadn’t spotted that Karimoko Dembele had gone to QPR on loan. I think we should have been all over that based on his performances last season at Blackpool. -

Weirdly I know Mikeys brother. He has premier league interest but Celtic are being difficult. Don’t know the full details but I’ll ask. Josh Bowler would be the one I’d be keen to see us go for. Like others have said he seems to have a bit of magic about him but hasn’t settled at Forest. We may even get a loan deal with an agreed fee. -

For the Smodzics stuff it may be just as simple as us saying we’d accept a reasonable offer and then arguing what reasonable is. It could also be that we said we’d accept £8m but Ipswich are suggesting that is £6m up front and £2m in deferred payments / bonuses whilst we are saying it has to be guaranteed payment. It could even be that we want £8m after we’ve paid the sell on fee to Peterborough. There’s lots of areas there could be arguments about. I’d argue we shouldn’t let him go for less than £10m on current t form. -

References to Scott Dann had me confused for a while but assuming the poster has mixed up his Danns and Duffys. Bad start for Norwich off the back of a pretty poor (results wise) pre season. Will be a tough game but one we can potentially get something out of. I’d take a point if offered one now. -

Ricky replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
He’ll out score Gallagher I reckon. I guess as his replacement that’s all that we can really expect. As others have touched on, if he had the finishing to match his hold up play, he’d be playing at a higher level. We have to hope he can be coached, or hit a bit of form on the finishing side of his game. I think he could still hit double figures for us this season.
