  1. I’m sure it was mentioned on here before that sell on fees include loan fees as well. Someone linked to a document which spoke about it last year when this was all discussed the first time around.
  2. Gilsenen is an interesting one. Always looks decent and has a very good youth pedigree but doesn’t seem to push on.
  3. Just checked, Coventry sold €39m and spent €37m. Thats the difference chaddy. right there in a nut shell. If we spent the same amount as we bought in nobody would be complaining. That would be the same as us now going out and spending £20m+. We’re not going to do that and that’s why it’s not a fair comparison.
  4. They also spent a lot on a replacement. We’re spending it on keeping the lights on. Simms was big money, I don’t see us going and spending that sort of money on a Wharton replacement. Trading is fine if you actually spend the profit on strengthening the squad. We don’t.
  5. Now that would be a good signing… scrub that, I don’t know anything about him as I was thinking about Jason Knight who went to Bristol from Derby,
  6. I think if you’re calling those three out as the best loan signings over the last two seasons it’s a damning inditement on our use of the loan market. I thought Morton was very average and we looked better when he wasn’t in the team. Ayari made very little impact at all. I liked Chrisene but we used him for a handful of matches. It’s been a really bad couple of years for loans. Maybe we were spoilt with the Eliotts and Van Hecke’s.
  7. On the transfer stuff do we think we’ll look at Sunjic if Travis leaves? On his way out of Birmingham.
  8. Just seen that Rangers are looking at bringing in a new Keeper. Would Eustace have worked with Butland at Birmingham? He’s still under contract so it may be a non starter but could be a better option than Ruddy.
  9. Thought he looked poor when they visited us this season. I would have snapped him up a few seasons ago but feel his best days are behind him.
  10. His car analogy was absolutely spot on though. It probably doesn’t need explaining but it’s based on you saying the team is in a good state and then saying we need 7 or 8 signings. The car analogy was based on a car being in a good state despite needing 5 or 6 major additions. Im pretty sure everyone got it apart from you though.
  11. And if he’s not it makes an absolute mockery out of us loaning players out. He’s gone out and been arguably their best player for a season whilst playing at a good level. He should be pushing for a starting position this season now.
  12. On the Sherwood one he also follows it uk with ‘and then shit like me turns up’.
  13. I’d be going for Johansson early doors and try to get that done. A strong keeper will make the existing back 4/5 look much more settled. Bad keepers have an impact on the back line as the players are second guessing their decisions. The keeper is the first we need to sort.
  14. Agree that Rathbone has probably been highlighted as his dad played for us but he does seem to have been one of their better players (along with their keeper). Those mentioning Jordan James can probably think again as I’m sure he’s destined for better things. I’ll ask his dad if I see him on the dog walk later lol. What will happen with Trav? Ipswich won’t sign him. He went there to play more games and ended up playing 20 minutes in their last 11 matches. He played a lot more football here in the first half of the season. I’m sure Eustace would have spoken to him and I do think he may be more of a eustace type of player, a bit more blood and thunder. If he comes back then I don’t see us signing another central midfielder.
  15. Would we look at Oli Rathbone from Rotherham?
  16. Stansfield would be excellent and he’s worked with Eustace so could be interested. Will we go for Ruddy in goal? I didn’t think he’d had a great season at Birmingham but I could see him coming in. Pears was good again today but has too many mistakes in him.
  17. Agree Mercer. I’ve zero confidence in Boughton actually bringing in the quality for us to get to the heady heights of mid table! He’s had three windows (I think) and apart from the extremely well publicised fuck ups I don’t think he’s actually bought any real quality in. Maybe he gets credit for Tronstad but that’s probably about it. We don’t just need one or two in the summer. We need 4 or 5 starters at a minimum.
  18. I don’t come on here that often and I reckon I’ve seen you say it 5 or 6 times. If you didn’t post 1000 odd posts a day I’d go back and find them all.
  19. Dom Hyam is back then. That’s his fault more than Pears for me. Pears gets it to him and he needs to get a boot through it.
  20. Scott Wharton was definitely thrown in goal when him and Adam used to kick about in the garden!!
  21. Mustupha Bundu played for Hereford a few years ago when he was at the local sports college. He’d come from Sierra Leone (think it may have been part of Craig Bellemys foundation). Ended up signing for Anderlecht which was a fair step up from non league. Was really hoping he’d have a shocker tonight and instead he scores a cracker. That goal is bad for us on so many levels. Means Leicester are likely to need a win on the last day and Plymouth May well be clear of us. It’s looking bad 😞
  22. Wharton must have been carrying a knock or something. I see no reason why he gets hauled off instead of Hyam otherwise. Seen the Eustace interview and he talks the talk again. However he’s just not good enough. None of them are!
  23. Hope you have them dogs abuse at full time!!
  24. They didn’t leave last time they took us down to league one so why would they this time?
