Chaddy will be back this morning with his £12m fee for Sammie based on the Nicki snippet. It’s not happening, it’s going to be around £8m as every other outlet is stating. Wouldn’t mind Cannon on loan from Leicester and would welcome Hall back. Not seen much of Dembele but has the pace that we are crying out for. Don’t actually see any of them happening though.

One more year, that’s all the Walker trust needed to keep us for. We were one year away from the new TV deal where we would have become a much more attractive opportunity to investors. Instead we’ve had years of managed decline and now appear to be edging towards some kind of endgame where they recoup as much as they can before either putting us into administration or trying to sell us.

Yeah I was going to comment on the Raya fee as one of those hindsight moments. His fee when he left was probably fair. He’d never played higher than the championship, and had been dropped a fair bit through the season.

Exactly this. Much rather none of this had come out about the fee until it was done and dusted.

I’m not keen on Batth as a signing but he could arguably be a better option than McFadzean if the wages are similar. Good few years younger but still think there will be better options out there. Cardiff have picked up Callum Chambers on a free. I’d argue that would have been a far better move but he’d probably want more than a packet of smarties a week. Also noticed that Swansea are going after one of the Burnley keepers so Andy Fisher won’t be first choice. I’ve not really followed his career since he left here but seems to have been first choice at Swansea this season.

Of course Chaddy wants him, we’ve been linked to him so if he signs he’ll be a great defender and will give us much needed experience.

O’Riordan has to push on if he’s going to make any impact on the starting 11. He’s had plenty of senior games so he’s not one we should be loaning out. If he’s not good enough then we need to get shot.

So it’s safe to say that Sammie goes now. We all know that it’s just haggling a fee. We also know that only a fraction, if anything, of any sale will be reinvested. I believe the fee will be undisclosed (shock) but will end up being around £9m. They know we are skint, everyone knows that we are skint so why offer over the odds. Our only hope is that it now starts a bidding war between interested clubs. We need a goal scorer. If we were a normal club I’d be suggesting someone like Stansfield. We aren’t a normal club though so it’s a moot point. It’ll be a free transfer at best.

So he’s in the final 3 years of his contract….. not exactly a reason to sell is it.

I know Begovic has been mentioned by Nixon/Chaddy. He’s open to a move north and still has property in the north west. He has quite a few options though so I’m not convinced he ends up here.

I know we shouldn’t be looking at other clubs business but it’s mad that Birmingham have just paid £4m for a player to play in the third tier of English football. He was going to be playing in Europe at his previous club. How are they getting around the profit and loss rules? I’m sure 17k season ticket sales helps but surely it’s not going to be enough to offset the losses from last season.

Loan is probably the only option as they paid more than €2m for him last summer. He signed a 4 year deal but hasn’t done a lot for them (1 goal).

You say this like it’s fact. You have a habit of posting opinion as fact based on what you hear. You have no idea if they have been offered contracts yet you post it as absolute fact yet again. At least we can use some of that £7m we’re going to spend and we can have them in the door for pre season. Time to accept that you know nothing, just like the rest of us. I mentioned one last week who Eustace would know very well from his time at Birmingham, Scott Hogan. Probably falls into the ‘gash’ category but wouldn’t surprise me.
