Why not? Some good debate. We don’t go up then it will be pertinent, we do, then we can ceremoniously lock it at 5pm on play off final day.
-
In a decade when our local rivals were trying to stay out of non league, Don and Saxton before him did amazing things with this club.
-
We obviously aren’t a million miles away. We incrementally improve the side this summer - left back, out and out striker etc then why not? Problem is, who knows where the squad will be in August after a summer of returned loans, perhaps an outgoing we don’t want and the ridiculous farce of summer meetings in Pune and finally getting going in the market after everybody else. But you can’t rule anything out in this league, the division is weak, the parachute clubs are increasingly nosediving.. it’s there for the taking.

End of the day, don’t over egg these offers. Just end up with diminishing returns. But Wigan and one or two in the run-in if we are still in with a shout is fine.
-
Powering up on subtle remarks gets me out of bed in the morning. It’s either that or I’d ‘power up’ by referring to players and staff with monikers like ‘Jonty’ and ‘Bucko’ full David Brent style to try and give the impression I know more than the square root of feck all to what goes on inside the club.

Course you did

Like how Chaddy is now just copying Mani’s tactical view from yesterday about inverted wide men and full backs providing the width. ‘Our wide men don’t play wide’.?
-
It was both! Two Thursday nights in 3 weeks! Put paid two any decent gates in the run in (Oxford made up for it!)
-
Ha, Mani wishes!
-
It was our highest home fans turnout in the Championship in 8 years. For a Sky night game. It was a good crowd. You make West Brom on Easter Monday the same and you would see a 20,000+ gate. Of course it’s viable.

Don’t worry about it Dreams. I was replying to BDS, my fault as I l’m very tardy with the quote button.

‘Doesn’t play the right way’. I’m sure getting beat at home by Fleetwood in the third division is a brave new dawn. -

Always makes me laugh when folk call TM “dour”, ‘kin ell, try listening to that fella! -
On what planet is BB a ‘natural successor’ to Bradley Dack?
-
Bit like when we were expecting a bumper Good Friday gate against Peterborough in promotion season... so Sky moved it to a Thursday night
-
I’ll let you know in May after a really great day at Wembley.
-
If you think 8th is ‘really great’, then go for it...
-
I didn’t say we weren’t doing well. I said 8th in the table isn’t incredible, which it isn’t.
-
Forget about semantics, I had enough of that with Mix-gate. Finishing top 6 in itself is not an achievement, it’s an arbitrary position in the table that opens the door to what we all actually want. Of course there are positives to be had, promotion, obviously, or even in defeat if we build on a top 6 finish through increased crowds, better players and so on, become a real force next season then great. However, many a club doesn’t, loses players and momentum and falls away, ‘Remember that time we finished 6th in 2020?’won’t mean much if it isn’t a springboard.

Derby County (A) - Sunday 8th March [3pm KO]

Bring back Danny Baker! -
You must have lower standards than me BDS. Getting in the top 6 would show us as an upwardly mobile club and that’s not to be sniffed at going forward - would help ST sales, sponsors, player incomings and outgoings and so on. But it’s a 1 in 4 shot, you lose and it’s an ‘incredible’ achievement? We go up and it would be incredible, akin to winning the lottery and something I thought I may never see again.
-
Going up would be incredible.
-
Thanks Father Chadwick.

Darrenrover, it’s the same offer we’ve had 4 times this season with diminishing returns each time. And now with half of them likely to be on TV, it will flop... again. Reduced prices for a couple of games in the run in is all we needed to do.

Every chance West Brom goes to a Monday night too...
