  1. Walton was way down the list, brought in after he missed out on a few and he’s after a keeper in January. Perhaps you line up a replacement before you flog your number 1, to avoid such pitfalls, no? https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/politics/quicktest/18061508.mowbray-explains-rovers-keeper-search-raya-exit/
  2. It’s so Sky can split up the red button coverage over two nights.
  3. ‘First world problems’ this thread...
  4. Venky’s still have a reputation as nutter owners, so a well timed resignation could work to his advantage on getting another decent gig at this level...
  5. I’ve been twitter grabbed for a second time. Think our former member is confusing a fairly sustained negative view of Mowbray on brfcs with the wholly positive one he’s experienced at Ewood for nearly 3 years, despite a very poor 2019. As I said, the tide would’ve turned much quicker at other clubs.
  6. First snipe at the fans. He has some brass neck, he’s been here almost 3 years with zero dissent pre Saturday. He’d have had it far earlier elsewhere.. “I felt, as a manager you shouldn’t criticise fans, but I felt the team needed support not anxiety. “I built the expectation this year that I wanted to get to the top six and push on. “The fact we’re falling short, maybe that’s where it came from. They deserve support, I think they’re giving everything they’ve got every week. “There’s a lot of young footballers in there who all want to be in the Premier League one day. “I think they all deserve support and thankfully we won. “I know there’s a lot of people who support Blackburn Rovers through thick and thin. “Maybe it was a bit of frustration from the terraces.” Asked if he felt a second successive victory on home soil would lift some of the anxiety, he added: “I doubt it. But probably more interestingly a hint that a resignation may happen... Otherwise it’s going to be my fault every time we lose a game, I think. I don’t want to be a burden on this football club. “I came here to Blackburn Rovers, because I love football, and this is a historic club and I won’t be a burden on the club. “If it isn’t going well, I don’t need to get booed out, I’m a proud working-class man from the north-east and I’ve put a lot into the job. “I’ve talked a lot about family and living away from them and what you give to a team by doing that and I think that’s why I still see a team that are still fighting until the final whistle, because they know that their gaffer is giving them everything he’s got.” https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/politics/quicktest/18057490.mowbray-can-feel-anxiety-disenchantment-rovers-fans/
  7. Indeed they do. However, forget the 80s, what should be more of a worry is that in this past decade crowds have risen rapidly at most clubs, whilst our lost decade has come at absolutely the wrong time and we are one of the few clubs to go in the wrong direction.
  8. Of course, but can’t say I’d heard such a thing before. Good job he’s an ale can or he wouldn’t be here...
  9. Anybody hear the Dack conversation on Quest? Murray and guests saying something like ‘And we’ve found out he’s a top pro too, pretty much teetotal’, cue sniggers from the lot of them. His ‘lifestyle’ obviously well known in the game, it seems...
  10. Late goals and a win is USUALLY what football is all about - indeed there was a cracking atmosphere in the ground and buzz up Livesey Branch after the Sheff Wed game. However, if you were there you must admit it wasn’t like that in the slightest today. A bit of relief, perhaps, but most folk seemed to be trudging out of Ewood either in silence or slagging the team and manager off.
  11. Then what you babbling on about then?
  12. You’re being silly now. That clip was from a time where we had a team of quality attacking players for this level and were consistently knocking on the door of the top flight.
  13. Because football is much more family friendly and safe. And our game has an enormous multi-media (and global) presence. However, on the pitch if you think this Blackburn Rovers side is a patch on some of our 80s teams than you really are a troll.
  14. I made a point of looking at the players’ reactions at full time. No celebrations at all and certainly no huddle at a la Sheff Wed. Graham just stood alone on the half way line for about two minutes with his hands on his hips. About 3 players on their haunches and Downing and Bennett seemed to be having a row. You’d think we’d just lost and something certainly didn’t look right in the camp to me...
  15. The ground didn’t seem too thrilled at full time. Ive never known such a subdued crowd after a late win...
  16. That is exactly the issue. A year in League 1 and a lot of fans seem to think we are now a Rotherham or Barnsley. But it does neatly sum up the wrecking job this regime has embarked on this past decade.
  17. I’d have enjoyed Bolton in the fourth division, but for the good of our club, we need Stanley back down the food chain as soon as possible...
  18. Not even close to losing the majority of match going fans. I’ve never known such a Teflon manager.
  19. He’s still here and in with a chance for ANOTHER contract in January by the sounds of if. Another to add to the list of odd going’s on... ‘Ben Gladwin is also training with the squad again having not made a senior appearance for two years. The attacking midfielder saw his deal at the club extended through to January, with his future set to be reviewed again in the coming weeks. “Ben Gladwin has been back on the training pitch, looking strong, but he obviously needs some game-time having been out two years, said Mowbray.”
  20. Outside London I forsee empty grounds. That could kill it off more than anything as it won't be a good look for free to air TV...
  21. He finally gave the game away (if we didn't know already), when he said Fulham was the 'best possible first away game we could ask for'.
  22. Have a read of your post again and have a think, as if you honestly don’t think you often come across as juvenile then there’s not a lot else to be said.
  23. Think we’ll win. TM usually does pull out a win or two when it’s looking desperate, a brief respite before another horror run. Definitely no excuse if Darragh ‘Paul McGrath’ Lenihan is back.
  24. A load of primary age kids in Hyndburn will be these days..
  25. I’m not saying they are a bad idea, I’m saying they don’t sell well at this club.
