  1. Or just get in the top 6. ‘Get in the mix of the top 6’, is that the Queen’s English, James?
  2. All well and good, but you can do all that without putting a complete rookie in charge. As an aside, amazing how many parachute clubs are trying to stay out of the third division, or are already in it - Hull, Middlesbrough, Huddersfield, Stoke and Sunderland.
  3. Then he’s going next January if they want maximum fee.
  4. So when is Dack going, @J*B? Won’t be this summer, unless someone is happy to spend big money on a player out for months with a cruciate, so with his contract up in summer 2021, he’s going for a pittance in January 2021, or for free that summer, you believe?
  5. Just the 4 potential away days supping in Birmingham next season, then!
  6. No issue with it generally, only a bit of craic, but he really milked it.
  7. Thought he made himself look a right clown. Scoring a goal in a 8th vs 10th Championship game and he’s giving it the Billy Big Bollocks routine.
  8. Didnt realise replying to those he disagreed with with - ? ? ??? ? counted as good debating, but there you go.
  9. We are in the mix because we are 3 points from the play offs on the 1st March. Challenging/in the mix/fighting for/in the race etc. are all turns of phrase in football, as Jim well knows as a former writer. Are Leeds not ‘in the mix’ for the title because they are outside first place? Yes, of course they are. So stop talking compete tripe. Quite simple really.
  10. I personally think we’ll fall short in the end, doesnt mean we don’t have a chance, I.e ‘in the mix’, not ‘dead certs’, like a few others. I also think PNE will fall away, are they ‘not in the mix’, either?
  11. No they weren’t ‘moaning like fuck’, they were at Ewood supporting the team on a freezing February afternoon. However, for me they are correct to question a 25 year old that adds precious little in goals and assists - a key part of being an an attacking midfielder and is a long way from a ‘top player’.
  12. I don’t think Rothwell is ‘universally liked’ away from here. Most fans around me yesterday were grumbling ‘no end product’, ‘flatters to deceive’, ‘Just runs with it in the middle of the park’ etc.
  13. You would if he’d have had a great game wide (or is it outside forward?), you’d have been like a dog on heat this morning. He had a good game centrally, where many posters on here wanted him to play and you ‘can’t be assed’
  14. Not saying they are easy, but QPR at home and Luton away will be preferred to West Brom and Fulham away. Thats just how it is, but I can see us getting something at Derby and beating Bristol City, so game on.
  15. Obviously just semantics then. Because we are in a play off chase, not sure how anyone could say different with a 3 point gap on the 29th February with a good goal difference. Will we do it? Nah. But I can’t fathom that there is actually folk disagreeing that we are involved as it stands.
  16. Not unwarranted, you’ve decided to take your ball home once proven wrong. Poor do.
  17. We were in it on 75 minutes at Brentford! Not that the ‘as it stands’ table means anything, but if shows we are in the mix. Villa weren’t in it at all least season until April.
  18. PNE do now have a more winnable run of fixtures*. This week was a real chance to make ground with the respective fixtures we had. *Obviously anything can happen in the Championship.
  19. Different issue, Mani was listing debuts.
  20. Come on Hasta. If we weren’t involved and someone said to you ‘Bristol City are in the mix for the playoffs this season’, you’d say they were wrong because they aren’t actually 6th in February? We trailed Bolton by far more than 3 points for long stretches in 2000/01, we were still in the automatic mix!
  21. You need to be clearer then, you talked about the plethora of players he’s given debuts to from the academy, and then listed academy grads. You can spin stats anyway you want, another take would be only Travis is a regular starter from players he’s given debuts to. (I think he’s been good with youth, by the way, but using Lenihan as an example is pushing it).
  22. He is fast once he gets going and actually has the ball under control... which is half the problem!
  23. ‘I’m not getting into a Gallagher debate again’ i.e I was wrong but won’t put my hands up. Poor form.
  24. Great story, but Lenihan, Raya and Nyambe had played for the first team before he arrived. Lenihan was a regular with 50 games under his belt, Nyambe about 20.
