Things you dislike about football.

It’ll only get worse. The idea is to make the group stage even longer to try and fend off a European Super League (as if it isn’t one already). -
Derby County (A) - Sunday 8th March [3pm KO]

Get Newcastle out as soon as possible. The media would be unbearable if that lot won a trophy. ’But their fans deserve success’ -
So you can’t explain the fact you’ve been moaning about SG playing wide, even though he doesn’t play wide. Fair enough. As for the second paragraph, you 12 years old?
-
Yeah thought so. You need to start watching the games and get an understanding, obviously.
-
No I’ll learn from a guru like your good self Paul. So where has Gallagher been playing for most of this season? As I’m pretty sure you’ve been posting too at a loss to why TM kept shunting him out wide?
-
We’ll be selling plenty, then?
-
The 80s were a great decade. Not a pot to piss in, but consistently at the top end of the second division, some quality players and a cup win.
-
Oh Mani. I’m obviously picking up on the fact they can’t be ‘wide men’, if they don’t play wide, can they! Though I’m sure Gallagher spends most of his time toiling down the flank, but I’m sure your Jonty signed coaching manual will have a different term for it. As for the Mr Elite football, please enlighten me?
-
If our ‘wide men don’t play wide’, what are they then?
-
That, my Dreamy friend is it in a nutshell.

We hit an arbitrary target of TM and it’s case closed? I’m taking about the club, you know that thing that’s been here for 150 years and will be after TM departs. TM wants to progress the club, I do. Top 6 helps to do that. However, losing play offs doesn’t not equate to success. Getting to a cup final is great also, shows you are a good side, not a success if you lose it. I’m not sure you understand the point of professional sport BDS.
-
Losing in the play-offs does not equate success. Talk to any Rovers fan 40+ and ask them about the Crystal Palace ‘89 play off final and they will still shudder; ‘one of the worst days ever as a Rovers fan’, ‘awful’. My dad can’t listen to ‘Glad All Over’, the Palace party song to this day. I don’t recall many saying... ‘ah well, at least it was a successful season’, it wasn’t, we lost.
-
On the coach back from play off defeat. Gutted. Half the bus in tears. ’What a successful season, incredible’, I’ll see what the reaction is.

Fulham have the biggest budget in the league so not the best example. Other clubs are doing well without that kind of outlay.

Points Based Immigration System and Football

Won’t effect Ireland as the terms of the Common Travel Area are unchanged. I.e free to live and work in the UK with no restrictions. -
‘I suspect they are connected to the club’ Suspect - to have an idea or impression of the existence, presence, or truth of (something) without certain proof.
-
So they don’t have agendas wanting the club to fail? Just don’t like being wrong? Well that’s just forums, look at some folk on the other side of the argument, they ‘can’t be bothered’ debating anymore when proven to be talking tripe. They’ve said it, you’ve rebutted it. What’s the problem?
-
Don’t chuck a hand grenade in by throwing accusations around that posters have ‘agendas’ that want the club to fail but refuse to back it up.
-
Then don’t come out with it, then?
-
Why do posters still come out with guff like ‘agendas’. Different opinions on managers, executives, players, of course. But name and shame posters who’s ‘agenda’ isn’t wanting the best for the club...
-
Why not? Some good debate. We don’t go up then it will be pertinent, we do, then we can ceremoniously lock it at 5pm on play off final day.
-
In a decade when our local rivals were trying to stay out of non league, Don and Saxton before him did amazing things with this club.
-
We obviously aren’t a million miles away. We incrementally improve the side this summer - left back, out and out striker etc then why not? Problem is, who knows where the squad will be in August after a summer of returned loans, perhaps an outgoing we don’t want and the ridiculous farce of summer meetings in Pune and finally getting going in the market after everybody else. But you can’t rule anything out in this league, the division is weak, the parachute clubs are increasingly nosediving.. it’s there for the taking.
-
End of the day, don’t over egg these offers. Just end up with diminishing returns. But Wigan and one or two in the run-in if we are still in with a shout is fine.
