  1. Only one appearance, wasn’t it? Last game of the season against Swansea. Can’t really make a judgement on those kind of ‘last day of term’ fixtures. Though we may as well see what he’s made of, as the club will be increasingly reliant on young players, it seems...
  2. He has been having personal training sessions at my gym. Not sure what that says about Wigan’s (or our) training regimen...
  3. Same as Leeds. Says a lot when we probably take over double to say West Brom (£20) over traditional Roses games.
  4. He’s a terrific ‘footballer’, I.e technically gifted. However, that means little when his body just isn’t up to it anymore (and he wasn’t ever a top centre half).
  5. September - Tony Mowbray outlined 70 points as the minimum target for Rovers as he aims to raise expectation levels at Ewood Park. What happens if you miss your ‘minimum target’? https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/17930673.where-aiming-year--mowbray-outlines-rovers-target/
  6. Life comes at you fast... http://www.wanderersways.com/forum/topic/90389-looks-like-we-do-what-we-want/page/8/
  7. ‘Bottom feeders’? That may have been their reputation in the early days, not anymore. The majority of fans I speak to tell me a combination of.. ’They put more money in than Jack ever did’, ‘we should be grateful to them’... and of course, the old favourite... ‘they were just badly advised’.
  8. Sorry I’m talking about the BB/TM link.
  9. Jim Wilkinson on Twitter says he has it on good authority from an ‘impeccable source’. As always, you take it or leave it with such things, but he was a journo for some years and is fairly well connected, I believe...
  10. Criticism? Where? Online? Way of the world unfortunately if you mean abuse. However I don’t see why his very poor performances can’t be commented on on forums like this. At the ground he’s had very little, apart from a few idiots away from home, and that is credit to our fans considering the hype and price tag. Certainly wouldn’t be the case at a lot of other clubs.
  11. That first sentence is damning, 7 million pounds is big, big money for a club like us, especially in a FFP environment. A player to be signed for that kind of outlay should’ve been scouted to an inch of his life. So for the cash to be thrown around in such a haphazard, almost negligent way is not how a club supposedly staffed by experienced professionals should be operating.
  12. Weird though, isn’t it?
  13. The flag’s generally are a good idea and would be excellent element of a singing section...
  14. It was way more than 150 fans and you know that chaddy. Does it mean those singing it and the Ewood crowd generally want him sacked? No, but it is showing they aren’t particularly impressed with the way things are panning out. As always with Rovers fans the real way they’ll show their dissent is by not bothering going next season.
  15. So I take it that’s what they call Liverpool and Man Utd too? As there are far more of those ‘plastics’ in Preston then Rovers fans.
  16. Frustrating thing is he’s so rapid, he doesn’t need to be right on the defender’s shoulder.
  17. It was a terrible decision, and many on here said so. It was the first of many and we are are still reaping the consequences.
  18. All part of the Anderson/Singh/Shaw/Agnew eras. For all its faults the club isn’t as toxic as it was 2010-2013. Or perhaps it is, so we best keep Mowbray as infinitum...
  19. Not really. PL club’s just bring in cheap English 3rd choice keepers to fulfil the ‘home grown’ squad quota. No chance of a game, whereas clubs want their younger keepers out on loan playing somewhere. See Lee Grant at Man Utd and Andy Lonergan at Liverpool.
  20. He’s better than Steele, surely?
  21. You seem to? You know how much we pay managers, players, how much we have to spend etc.
  22. We were an established PL club, full of quality players, had average crowds of 25,000 and a cracking home record. More fool you! The last decade has been ‘a chore’
  23. Good job he went then..
  24. Did anybody expect Mowbray... or Lambert? For every Coyle there was the Lambert appointment which fans were happy with (initially) and TM has done a decent job on the whole. So why wouldn’t we appoint somebody decent?
