  1. Of course, but they were a minority, most fans realised we had a top manager and it was unlikely we would get anyone better. A guru at keeping clubs like us competitive in the Premier League. Fast forward and there is nobody out there for us better than Tony bloody Mowbray? Get out of it!
  2. Sam Allardyce was a top manager, this fella just isn’t, so not a comparison I would make.
  3. A loud minority were celebrating at Ipswich... just like here on that fateful day in December 2010.
  4. They brought 7,500 last season, 6,200 yesterday, so not much difference in home areas really. Stagnant on and off the pitch.
  5. As long as we are not in a relegation battle I just can’t see the crowd turning on him en masse. Barnsley got close to real dissent due to us slipping towards the bottom 3 at that time. The majority of Rovers fans expect little these days, so plodding around in mid table of the Championship won’t be inviting a rebellion.
  6. For a club middling around in the second tier it’s quite a bizarre thing to see. Where was Bowyer’s?
  7. Ha quoted the wrong bit! Meant to quote the ‘won’t be going again’... you will!
  8. Heard that from you a few times!
  9. Always the case in this league. Even Burnley games don’t usually attract much more.
  10. Wasn’t exactly champagne football, but it was a blood and thunder game, interesting that a neutral would find it boring.
  11. In those 20 minutes - we scored, then Evans had his cheekbone and nose broke ... and then they scored. What more were they after?
  12. 13,700 home fans is more than I thought at £28-£30 just after Christmas. Couple of thousand up on a standard game.
  13. We are supposed to do it in minute 25 every home game this season, the prompt always comes on the screen at that time... just nobody bothers.
  14. I can only presume he thought they’d sell out so to stop tickets being bought in home areas. Then realised they weren’t going to get particularly close to selling out and he backtracked. Usual keystone cops stuff down Ewood...
  15. Come on Dave, he ain’t going to get a ‘walking in a Ben Brereton wonderland’ when he’s been so poor for 18 months. We don’t have chants for half the players anyway.
  16. Nonsense that needs to stop being spread about. BB’s been supported to the hilt, which shows the inherent fairness of Rovers fans who realise it’s a young lad, patience he wouldn’t have got elsewhere. A few dickheads at games and social media trolls do not represent a fanbase. But he’s been very, very poor and folk are free to say so on brfcs.
  17. Twice every season we have the same tiresome discussions; crowds, away followings, is it/is it not an important game, this weird ‘plastics’ tag. *yawn* (and yes I get sucked into it too). Rather just not play them at all to get away from the nonsense (though I would miss the scoops round Preston).
  18. We are ‘evolving our play’ so he wouldn’t fit in to this brave new world.
  19. The club trained all over. Even in the summer of 1994 we were sometimes on Pleckgate field. When I lived in that neck of the woods, me and my dad walked down to watch and saw a fella training who my dad was sure was Perry Groves... it was Robbie Slater.
  20. Which is replicated in home areas (and more in the case of the Jack Walker) ’Cheap as chips is Ewood’.
  21. Get on to Livesey Branch Road and there are plenty of decent pubs to go at. Yes, the Fernhurst will be full of that lot.
  22. Why is anybody surprised? Category A just after Christmas. And although Preston fans whip themselves into a frenzy for this fixture home and away, it simply isn’t a game that ever gets Rovers fans attending Ewood in particularly larger numbers than for any other standard Championship game. The only game that does at this level is Burnley.
  23. I’ve read some tripe in my time, but this. I’ve never heard a single Rovers fan that said we had anything other than the old Pavilion terrace in 2001, though there were odd fans dotted about, my uncle was in the Tom Finney, for example. As for the rest of it, just imagine being soooo bitter
  24. Doesn’t stop Stanley putting some effort in for 2k...
  25. Bang on. It’s a small time mentality of a bunch of fans who largely have no memory of top flight football. The Dingles had this wholly fantastical view that they had this vast fanbase waiting in the wings and they would have to ‘tarmac Pendle Hill’ if they ever got to the promised land. Not like us ‘with our crap support’ of you know, just the 25,000 average gates. The reasons you rarely hear them banging on about crowds these days is that they now realise that a) the stuff they used to come out with has been proven as the bollocks it always was as they struggle to attract more than 17/18,000 home fans, and b.) they are one of the most profitable club’s in Europe feasting at the top table, so who cares?
