I occasionally flick on the subtitles on French and German films, because I'm not reliant on them. I can understand what they're saying unless it's a really poor soundtrack which rarely happens nowadays. Having said that I dont like subtitles I'll probably watch Parasite when I can get round to it.
I dont like subtitled programmes. I can read well enough but subtitles are rarely translations. Theres often a lot more said than they put on the subtitles.
I'm brilliant at it. Do all the gloss painting in the house. Taught my husband to wallpaper too. My dad taught me. I had no brothers so did all those sort of jobs with my dad.
I used to enjoy listening to Hawksbee and Jacobs when I was driving home from work. I loathed listening to Durham. But their actual match coverage has always been awful.
No, I'm old enough now to be vaguely grandma like. First time round I was far too young, despite being in my mid 50s. Mind you, this is my baby expecting his first baby so it does feel odd, but nice too
Not at all. As soon as people tell me I MUST watch something, I lose all desire to do so. I find few things live up to other peoples hype. It's the same with books that I MUST read, places I must visit etc. I rarely recommend things to others, beyond saying I enjoyed them. Not everyone likes the same things and that's good.
I loved Life on Mars when it started. I didnt like Ashes to Ashes and wouldn't watch a follow up series as I think it was finished ages ago and, whilst the idea was good when the first few series aired, it's old hat nowadays.
