  1. Ternant! Now there's a name I havent heard in a while
  2. That's true. The AJBell watching Sale is freezing at the best of times but you can shift position if you're in the end stands.
  3. You say that till you fall out of love with him. Plenty here who loved Allardyce, and I was even known to defend him myself to outsiders, despite disliking him in the extreme, because we were winning and stable with him. All managers have a shelf life - then disenchantment gradually grows. You may never hate him but you wont hang on his every word always. We didn't get the chance to fall out of love with Allardyce - Kean saw to that
  4. The other one we remember well is a cup match against Sunderland at Ewood. Night match that went to extra time. 119 mins of utter boredom then a goal. Mind numbing as well as body numbing
  5. Surely you've been colder at the Reebok. Even in summer it was freezing
  6. Thank you from a fellow teessider who has come over to the Rovers! My family will have been up in arms about the result today
  7. I said it was our Gus Poyet moment. Always remember him hitting the crossbar in the Worthington Cup final and my daughter saying 'We're going to win this now'
  8. I see your user name is submarine. Is that why you got this wrong?
  9. First time I've seen us play this season. I hoped some of you were exaggerating our awfulness in previous matches but you're clearly not. I've just said,' The Boro are clearly the better side in all respects' and its years since I can remember saying that. Even when they've beaten us they've never looked this superior
  10. Then it's a good job we don't have to rely on radio
  11. On the other hand, how classy are Joe Root and James Anderson, with honourable mentions to Mark Wood and Johnny Bairstow
  12. But this is Venkys! They know how to appoint people for their chicken business but not football managers
  13. I've never really commented much about Mowbray as I no longer go to matches but I did read the interview and I had that feeling you get when the villain in a film says to the heroine ' dont you trust me,' and I want to shout at her, 'dont trust him an inch, love. If they have to bang on about trust, they are not trustworthy'
  14. Depends how you watch. We tend to watch 2 or max 3 episodes a night. We like to be able to finish a series before we start the next one but we wouldn't watch the whole series in one sitting
  15. You have to think about when it happened. Pre mobile phones and Internet. It was possible just to drop out much more so than now
  16. The serpent was superb. Well worth watching. It had us gripped from start to end
  17. So can we blame him for our rubbish performances this season? Whatever he did or didn't do at the start of his tenure, he's doing poorly now
  18. Currently watching The Serpent and really enjoying it.
  19. I've only watched the first 2 series. Need to get back into it
  20. So pleased for you, Mike. Was going to ask yesterday because I knew he was due around Christmas but didn't want to put my foot in it if anything wasnt quite right. Itll be a hard few months ahead but will be so worth it. I should know - I have 4, 2 planned, one half planned and one out of the blue that we still dont understand! My grandma always used to say ' Babies bring their own love with them' and she was right. You think you've no more to give and then they look at you and you're overwhelmed with love. Enjoy being a daddy! And get that Rovers sleepsuit on him as soon as you can
  21. I'm starting to get worried. All those who were stars when I was not quite a teenager are going. Makes me realise even more that I may not have long left
  22. I never turn on tv or radio although I dont turn it off if its on, especially if I'm in on my own at night. Kim's the TV watcher. But much of what we watch is stuff we've recorded. We watch very little live, except for sport.
  23. To be honest, I watch very little TV. I can't be bothered to concentrate through most programmes.
  24. Saw a bit of it I think while husband was channel hopping. We're old fashioned in our house. He owns the remote
  25. I remember it quite clearly. My younger sister was at Uni in Hull at the time and they set up a system of volunteers to walk girls home from events so they weren't out alone after dark. One of the victims was local to us. My friend had taught her in Sunday School.
