  1. I have to confess,I'd be so excited by his sacking that I might accidentally describe myself as super-excited. One of my pet hates is, 'We're going to spend some time unpacking that statement.' I unpack shopping bags not statements.
  2. I've a few bottles of champagne. I might be tempted to crack one open if somebody can just do the deed and sack him.
  3. It's my birthday. Mowbray's sacking would be a very nice present for me
  4. If there was any progress at all many of us would be very patient but we're going backwards so fast it's unbelievable
  5. I voted no, but then I havent had one since Coyle's appointment and the closure of the BBE Upper. It wouldn't take much to persuade me to attend matches but it would take a lot to get me back to buying a ST
  6. Couldn't watch another league club but used to go to Clitheroe and Sale even when I had a Rovers ST. For me its been a shift of emphasis rather than a change of club. Id still go to Rovers if there was anything remotely interesting going on but they're no longer my number 1 focus. I care. I get angry. I want to be able to support them properly but the trust, the shared ambition, the heart, the passion have all gone. And I like watching live sport. I need something to support. So my focus has shifted to things that give me a reason to stay connected
  7. I get my enjoyment now either following Clitheroe or Sale Sharks, a different sport I know, but a club run by local business people with ambition and passion, that keeps fans connected by regular communication and consultation. A club that has ambition but uses its academy lads well and has ideas above its station. A club that has brought in an ambitious young DOR who commands respect but knows how to have a laugh too. How long is it since any of that really applied at Rovers?
  8. I'd second that. Clitheroe is fun football. You go home regardless of the result feeling you've seen a team playing their hearts out. They're not generally great talents but they've remembered what the point of playing is- doing your best to win and enjoying yourself doing it.
  9. I used to teach this guy! I remember going to visit him on work experience down at Brockhall.
  10. Just been chatting to our son and new baby grandson, Rohan, born on 21st March out in Korea.
  11. Worst thing about the international break is that he'll still be here after it and use it as an excuse for lack of sharpness.
  12. I've always thought he looks like a talking action man my son used to have
  13. Can someone tell them Summer is far too late
  14. When Mowbray came in, there was a lot of goodwill simply because he was not Coyle. Even a still avoidable when he arrived relegation didn't really spoil it and bringing us back up gave him credit in the bank. He's been eating into this steadily year on year and were it possible to protest id be there doing it even though I no longer attend matches. He quite simply HAS to go. There is no honesty or pride in remaining. His reputation is so far damaged that he has none left. Just leave, Tony, and let our team move on.
  15. Oddly enough, my son pointed out to me that I saw Orsic, the Dynamo Zagreb scorer, play for Ulsan in the Asian Champions League in 2018
  16. Most, if not all, of us on here think that. Even on Twitter and Facebook the tide has turned or is turning but there's only one person whose opinion counts and she either doesn't know, doesn't care or thinks 'Stuff you, peasants. I like him.'
  17. I didn't suggest Shearer wouldn't have scored goals, just that he got more than he would otherwise have done if teams weren't set up to help him..
  18. Mowbray's fault as much as anything. Find him a manager who will play to his strengths and he'll score goals. All decent teams set up to their striker's strengths. Remember Sinama-Pongolle saying he was set up to help Bellamy score. Would Shearer have scored the goals he did here without the wingers and Sutton to provide service. You have to get the right kind of service to strikers then they do their job. Our players don't help Armstrong in that there isn't a set way they play to always provide him with the chances
  19. I just got a notification about a Rich Sharpe tweet. Its the hope that kills you
  20. Oh id agree but since there is no sign whatsoever that anyone who has any authority is even thinking of sacking Mowbray, we, as fans, can line up/suggest whoever we want. There has to be some kind of will to get rid of him before we can expect anyone to be looking for a replacement.
  21. Just because German coaches are flavour of the month. Looking around, most of them have fit in well over here because they usually have a great command of English to start with. Makes communicating much easier. We have to get rid of Mowbray first before we can get a new coach in here
  22. Far too late. New guy, whoever he or she may be, would need time to sort priorities and find players. Needs to be now
  23. The ref was awful. Having said that, Mowbrays team did not have a clue tonight. He has to go.
