Reading v Rovers. March 2nd 2021, 8pm.

Im just wishing I'd done some painting so I could watch it dry. -
No arguments from me. I've watched Sale sharks beat Bristol and Exeter this season, and Lorient, in the relegation places, beat a full strength PSG. Those are supposedly the matches players relish playing in and how good does it feel when you win or at least do well. We may not be able to win them all - few teams win even most of their games but we should at least be competing. It's the idea that we can't compete that irks me more than anything.
-
Yes but then you read the first comment under that tweet and it says you couldn't blame him if we lose the next few because they're against top teams. So still supporting him
-
For the first time in ages I caught the after match stuff on EFL on quest. I know people have said ad nauseam that he has to go but you could tell even the post match pundits wanted to say it too. He has to go.

So how do we get rid of Mowbray?

Mowbrays Successor

Yes. My reason for not wanting Cook in an ideal world is because he's a mouthy nasty bloke, nothing to do with his Burnley connections. I didn't want Coyle because he was a busted flush, not because he was an ex Burnley manager, although i did point out to Cheston when I told him that i wasn't renewing my ST that Coyles Burnley connection was the straw that broke the camel's back. Cook is generally successful so his connections don't come into it -

I wouldn't in ideal circumstances, want Cook anywhere near Rovers, but then, we're not in ideal circumstances, far from it. So I'd take him all day long if we could ever get rid of Mowbray. -
This is the problem with outstaying your welcome. Whatever good you may have done is forgotten amidst all your failures
-
Was the name you cut out Tony Mowbray by any chance?
-
Nobody wants to want their team to lose. We'd all love to see Rovers win at the weekend and for that to trigger a great run. Realistically we know it won't happen so we find ourselves able to accept a loss as we feel we might be a bit closer to a change of manager but if we're honest that's unlikely to happen too. What fun its been to be a Rovers fan since the Rao family rocked up
-
The guy who phoned in to 606 mentioned it at the weekend

An organised resignation was how they referred to Lennon's leaving Celtic. ie they told him to go but allowed him to say he resigned.
-
But think how many penetrations into the Ribble Valley they could make
-
And this shows the depths Rovers have fallen to because when the unmentionable Ke*n was here the rhetoric was all about him not driving us out of the club, buying our STs regardless etc. Season ticket numbers dropped but were still reasonably healthy. Now I know of very few former ST holders who will be renewing for next season.
-
But Venkys wouldn't know how to find that unknown manager. We're realistically looking at someone from that small pool. Agree we shouldn't be but we will be if Mowbray ever goes

Almost too reasonable. I wouldn't be yelling abuse at him, but I do feel its definitely time to go and most of those, in trying to be fair to him on things hd has achieved, fall far short of that. Having reunited fans and club to some extent, he and the team around him are driving a wedge between club and fans again. And that should not be allowed to happen
-
He was a bit on the defensive yesterday on Twitter I noticed.

I dont like Piers Morgan myself but he knows how to ask a question and keep asking until either the person answers it or it becomes obvious that they won't because they've something to hide
-
Piers Morgan makes a pretty good job of it. Just put the question
-
Because he's not supposed to tell us his name?

Its never safe until its mathematically safe.

Mowbrays Successor

I thought that. I didn't realistically expect promotion but I did expect to see us spending some time in the promotion and playoff slots. I did expect a consistent challenge for the playoffs to be on the cards. We might have fallen short, probably would in fact, but every year there is an outsider who gets in there. That is what I would have hoped for. Along with a few good, unexpected wins and some decent performances where we really fought for a victory. What I didn't expect (or in a strange way, I did expect it but hoped I was wrong) was the utter rubbish that's being apparently being served up most weeks, the fact that despite being among the highest scorers we struggle to get a goal in the first half of far too many matches, the fact that if it gets to 70 mins and we haven't scored we turn off the results because we know that it will be Rovers who concede 9 times out of 10. We'd have no god given right to promotion even if we had the best squad and a great manager. Promotion has to be earned and a lot can be gained by organisation, effort, energy and discipline in roles that suit your players. -

You have to ring in in the first place, and most people don't. -
To see if there are any rumours of Mowbray leaving, I assume
