I think all managers have a shelf life. Eventually it must get almost impossible to get the same group of players to perform to the max. Rich clubs get round this by changing players. Poor clubs settle for where they are and cut their cloth accordingly. Clubs with ambition but not much spare cash change manager. You can do it any time, it costs less than changing 4 or more players, and the potential rewards are high. Mind you, so is the potential risk so you, as a club and as fans, have to be prepared to fail if you want to get 9n.

And almost wish I was still watching the cricket. Never seen Sharks play so badly.

Just finished in time for Falcons v Sharks

Me too. Used to be that it was considered really common to have tatoos. You avoided lads with tatoos as they were likely to be from a bad background. Now its all kinds of people who have them and don't get me started on the way footballers look. Old fashioned? Snobbish? Yes, on this issue I'm both

Oddly enough, I just watched the highlights and said the exact same thing. -
Well done. It's always good when there are good news stories in the midst of this mess

Baby was born this morning. A little boy. Looks very cute.

I watched them live at the time. Dont remember Barry John but the others, yes. I've seen videos of John. I've always watched union, just never had a team to support. Middlesbrough isn't known for being a rugby area. Used to watch all the televised stuff though

You only have a slight problem. My son in laws a claret. And the new one could well end up a Toon fan

Have you tried Tom's Table in Clitheroe? I've heard good reports but it opened while I was in France and I can't go out till after the weekend. Young guy opened it. lived 8 years in France he told us.

We were all but conceding we'd lost it at the hour mark. It was very hard to watch and the ref wasn't great. Seemed to miss a lot and not consistent which was lucky for Sharks as, having given away all those penalties, some of which were doubtful and could have gone either way, at the crucial stage of the game they suddenly got the benefit of every 50/50. That Will Evans penalty seemed to knock the stuffing out of Quins. Big shout to Rob du Preez who had a disaster in the earlier league match against Quins with his poor kicking, but stepped up and put in a flawless performance last night. Just wish we could have been at the AJ Bell to enjoy it with the team.

Not rugby league at all but there doesn't seem to be an easy to find rugby union thread and I have to say it somewhere. Huge congratulations to Sale Sharks on winning the Premiership Cup last night. Bit like us winning the Worthington Cup. Its not the biggest competition but its a trophy. De Klerks try was worth watching for on its own.
