  1. It's one reason I wont eat duck! I dont eat lamb anyway because i dont like it and I dont eat veal because calves are cute.
  2. My German is nowhere near the standard of my French now. It used to be good when I was teaching it because I used it all the time. Now, when I go to Germany, my daughter and grandkids talk for us so I dont practise much. I can still do it when I have to but it's rare that I have to.
  3. I speak fairly good german too. Used to teach it
  4. But Spanish has genders, hasn't it?
  5. Nothing to do with gender of object. It's from the old Latin system of 5 declensions. It's just how the words were formed in the original Latin. Just make sure you learn the gender along with the word. I used to teach French (1976 to 2015) so I know a bit about it.
  6. 2 words actually if we're being pedantic.
  7. I dont know but he lives in Cart Mel
  8. Weve just booked ferry to France for late July. Fingers crossed.
  9. I got all of my 4 sleeping through from 10 till 6 most nights within a couple of months but before that theyd wake up every 2 hours. My grandson took nearly a year to start sleeping through and I dont think my youngest grandson ever sleeps for more than 4 hours at a time and hes nearly 3
  10. Yes. I'd advise 22 hours a day from now on. It's the last chance you'll get for some time.
  11. The bbc live feed says Blacckburn 0- Bristol city 1 at 17mins
  12. I did wonder Mike because you got married round about the same time as my son, and when I said they were expected a baby, the thought flitted through my brain. Huge congratulations and best wishes to you both.
  13. My dad didnt like her. Preferred Judy Garland.
  14. Yes we saw that earlier too. I would think the Assheton arms would be taken on by someone if pubs get to open soon, but perhaps not.
  15. I wasnt there when she appeared. The Superheroes of Sale have been doing a great job. They're a group of runners who do daily runs dressed as superheroes. You can ask them to come and say Happy Birthday to your child and they publish their routes, call at peoples houses, knock and stand at a distance for photos. Theyve raised over £5K for Ronald McDonald House so far and brought a lot of fun to a lot of kids who cant celebrate their birthday as they normally would.
  16. Celebrated my grandsons 4th birthday with him yesterday, all suitably distanced. Superheroes of Sale sent Captain America, the Incredible Hulk and Batwoman to visit him. Fantastic!
  17. Weve finished series 3 and are now onto series 4 . We watched the first 2 episodes last night so have 4 left. Probably 2 tonight and 2 tomorrow.
  18. Weve got those 4 to go yet. Were thoroughly enjoying it and if we hadn't been exhausted yesterday, wed have watched more.
  19. I'd watched the first 2 series. Someone I know mentioned it to us in passing and I was intrigued enough to look it up. Fortunately I dont read the Guardian except the odd online item so i wont get the spoiler. Wont take us long to catch up. 2 episodes an evening if we dont start too late
  20. Series 3. Have recorded last nights too but have series 3 downloaded.
  21. I looked it up and spotted series 3 which I hadn't seen. I thought I was up to date but had somehow not spotted s3 when it came out. You're right it's not for the squeamish but its gripping. So we started s3 last night and then have s4 to look forward to too
  22. The Sahara? Antarctic? Burnley?
  23. Congratulations! I havent tried running but we find 3 mile walks straightforward now. No gasping for breath uphill and getting faster all the time.
  24. I'm too old. I only really remember him in The Liver Birds
