  1. Not rugby league at all but there doesn't seem to be an easy to find rugby union thread and I have to say it somewhere. Huge congratulations to Sale Sharks on winning the Premiership Cup last night. Bit like us winning the Worthington Cup. Its not the biggest competition but its a trophy. De Klerks try was worth watching for on its own.
  2. Seemed a very odd choice when today clearly wasn't Rashids day.
  3. You think you've got it bad. At the weekend, Rovers,Sale Sharks,FCLorient and Clitheŕoe all lost. ?
  4. We're able to listen to these matches on 198 LW. T20 ones were only on digital and we cant get that on our digital radio here
  5. I thought I'd read the score wrongly when I flicked onto the BBC and saw it.
  6. Are they batting or throwing wickets?
  7. And there arent that many management jobs around so unless you're a top manager, a name, you have to take what you can get if you want to stay in football management. And its addictive. You miss the extremes of emotion if you arent in a job
  8. That wouldn't do him any good. Mowbray likes players to be smartly dressed.
  9. I may need to apologise to Moeen Ali. He did just what was needed today
  10. Moeen Ali? Anyone explain to me why he is in our best 15 T20 players?
  11. It was more that people were having a go at the club for not having season ticket plans and there had to be some kind of pay in now for fans who were planning to buy anyway and were wanting to support the club by buying. So many pointed out that you couldn't sell tickets honestly for something that might not happen and said the admin costs of a refund would be too high to be worth doing. Someone suggested donations but a non refundable deposit seemed a sensible way to have marketed tickets earlier but not promised something you couldn't deliver. Too late to do now but it might be worth looking at ahead of next season if the situation remains similar to this years.
  12. Then they take the risk of getting nothing. How do they know fans will be allowed in? They're planning for them to be allowed in but who knows? Damp autumn, nobody had their summer sun vitamin D fix, second wave plus job losses and sales may be very low. Nothing to stop them getting SOME cash upfront now, but, as many have said, none but the creme de la creme of diehards will want to commit to buying tickets for something they may not see. They could have my £50 as free cash now.
  13. I know I have no right to comment on season tickets as its many years now since I bought one. However, I have bought a Clitheroe one as for me at the cost and being an occasional attendee it's a no brainer. The money is a sum I can afford to give away without worrying. I dont think anyone has mentioned the possibility (and forgive me I haven't read this whole thread so might have missed it) of Rovers asking fans to pay a non refundable deposit of say £50 now to be converted to a full cost season ticket when fans are allowed in the ground. I'd pay it, even if I didn't go on to buy a full price ticket later. The club could have my cash as a donation, much the same as Clitheroe get since I only go to a few matches a season.
  14. Well done
  15. I just heard it on 5live this lunchtime. If parents would only be a bit more careful with kids names
  16. We had boy and girl names lined up and with our 4th we couldn't decide between 2 boys names so when he was born we gave the other 3 kids the choice and fortunately they agreed.
  17. Yes, Root's innings yesterday and his partnership with Sibley provided the platform for Buttler and Woakes. He may get a lot wrong but he was spot on yesterday in occupying the crease, wearing the bowlers down and putting the seeds of doubt in their minds. His captaincy was questionable at times, and his tactical choices but he got that bit right yesterday
  18. We went off for a swim when Pope fell. Came back expecting it all to be over and turned on LW to see how many wed lost by only to realise we were still in with a chance. Great stuff. I love test cricket when it's close. It must be the most up and down sport.
  19. I never wanted to know. I refused all scans until I had my 4th child when there were some problems with the pregnancy and I had to have one. I hated it, all that cold slimy jelly smeared on a painfully stretched stomach(I was huge with my 4th) I vowed never again.
  20. Not really. In fact I'd have expected Emily to want to know as she likes to be organised and prepared but they just said they'd rather not know.
  21. My son and his wife are desperate not to find out what theirs is.
  22. When he was at primary school he could hit the ball so far that the rule was 'If Ian hits a six his side is out' A friend of mine was his PE teacher
  23. We've made it to Brittany, the caravan is still standing and the weather is set fair for a week at least.
  24. I've said it before. Duff had no expectation of leaving when he did. He told my daughter the evening before he signed, when she asked him, "Are you going to Chelsea?" No, I dont think I am. It wasnt his choice at all
  25. You need more space if you're exercising. 3 or 4 metres preferably. Easier to just do stuff outside.
