  1. Its funny how everyone loves watching Faf de Klerk because, whilst on top form he's brilliant, he makes so many mistakes. Watching Tom Curry is great; Marland Yarde and AJ McGinty have come on in leaps and bounds, and the Du Preez twins, if they don't get carded, are amazing. What Sanderson has done with some good players, turning them into a real team, is incredible in a short space of time. Same coaches, same players, but a different vision from the top man. Shows what we could have at Rovers with the correct appointment
  2. Tickets for Sale's last 2 home matches are on sale to members tomorrow and I'm a member.
  3. I dont think I'd have bought a season ticket but I'd probably be at some matches. I have been to some since I stopped being a ST holder. However, what is there in the current set up to entice me to get up and go to Ewood? The football I've watched has been dire. The manager doesnt appear to care. The is little to no atmosphere. The stands were relatively empty. I dont, as many of you do, meet friends, go to the pub or take family since my kids have grown up and moved away. All the social aspects of the match are absent so the football has to be worth watching. Theres no sense of anticipation or excitement if it isn't. My daughter still wants to go sometimes so we normally attend some games. But ST, no. It would take a lot to tempt me. Mowbray's sacking would mean I'd look at attending.
  4. I've come to terms with it in that if he's there, I definitely won't be.
  5. My granddaughter in Germany got her acceptance letter for the Gymnasium (grammar school equivalent here) yesterday. The look of sheer delight on her face when she opened the letter was brilliant
  6. Filling in Customs forms to send gifts to grandchildren in Germany. 13 years I've been sending them without customs forms. And all the writing on the forms now has to be in Block Capitals. It's a minor thing but a damned nuisance. They actually asked for the weight of each item in the parcel. I told them to make it up.
  7. More like 25! My husband, being a southerner, has some Brentford supporting relatives. We used to feel sorry for them.....
  8. Its Tony or Steve isn't it?
  9. He's good but then so are a number of other Sharks players and with Sanderson in charge there seems to be a whole new ambitious mindset. The kind of thing needed at Rovers where they've asked the players what they want to achieve, what their team ethos and identity is and looked at how they achieve it together. PS Faf is pretty good at hula hoop too!
  10. Yes I dont think I'd now give up my Sharks season ticket for a Rovers one, but there are plenty of weekends where I could do both and take in a Clitheroe match too, but not if the surcharge remains, tickets are expensive and especially not if Mowbray remains
  11. My only reall memories of Birmingham are when we played them at St Andrews when the pitch looked like a tractor had been let loose on it. And I think once the floodlights failed.
  12. PSG are inconsistent. They have too many players who sulk when its not going their way instead of trying twice as hard. For all their faults and failings (I can't stand City or their incomprehensible manager, who speaks good English, but somehow manages to annoy me every time he opens his mouth) City have developed the winning mentality and sheer determination that makes the difference between winners and nearly teams. PSG don't have that.
  13. Those are 'quotes' from LET fans. Not Stuart's opinions at all.
  14. I normally try to resist the desire to correct spelling mistakes, although sometimes I can't. However, that one was just too topical.
  15. Critique of the powers that be, fair enough. I know not everything in life gets a happy ending and I get the points that episode made, but this isn't real life, not even close so why couldn't we have something just a bit more explosive and dramatic?
  16. Haven't bought it or looked at it in years.
  17. I dont either but it doesn't mean I dont care. Relegation and the shambles of a club still hurts
  18. Sadly, whoever is manager, I still will.
  19. I would because most of it is ridiculously priced. I'm stingy like that. I only ever bought Rovers shirts as birthday presents. I said no to most things my kids wanted really. They knew we simply couldn't afford to splash the cash if they wanted season tickets. And in those days they did.
  20. Depends where the elsewhere is. I have a season ticket for Clitheroe. Non league, my local team and cheap as chips. If Rovers are playing id go there. If not I'd go to Clitheroe. I wouldn't go and buy a season ticket at another league club.
  21. I was pleased about it but it didn't fill me with the kind of excitement I used to feel when I would go to work on Monday still buoyed up by the result on Saturday.
  22. Im not sure he ever was reliable but he did have contacts and was occasionally right about the broad story outline even if the details were lacking. Very good at phrasing things so that he could wriggle out of things if what he predicted didn't materialise
