  1. They may well both have been involved. After all, Kean was very obnoxious.
  2. It wasn't his footballing skills I was thinking of.
  3. Most people's idea of why we fell away begins and ends with Mowbray.
  4. I'm with you. It wasnt that what's his name turned out to be the 4th man per se that was disappointing. He was so unmemorable that I've forgotten his name already so easy to see how he might slip under the radar of people looking for Mr Big. It was the fact that there was nothing memorable at all about that last episode. It was less than a whimper even and it needed something to leave you wondering. Something tantalising or spectacular in itself. You cant say goodbye to a big series in a half hearted manner like that. The end of Keeping Faith, whilst somewhat OTT, was more satisfying
  5. It makes a huge difference everywhere. The difference between Sale Sharks under a decent manager in Steve Diamond and what looks like an excellent appointment in Alex Sanderson is amazing. You win matches youd previously have lost. You hold onto leads you'd previously have lost. You overcome problems on the pitch and players sort things out for themselves mid game because of the confidence an excellent manager gives them. Training ground moves start to appear in matches, and players really play for the team. It's not rocket science. It's just like any other job. Get a really good person at the top and everything else falls into place
  6. I think they'd share with equals or those whose wealth is superior
  7. If you run an IPL team you at least understand a bit about sport
  8. Yes. I love the commitment and the innovation but he is scarily dangerous too.
  9. Got our match tickets to watch Sharks v Bristol Bears. Took 2 minutes. There was someone on the supporters facebook page answering queries and the tech team were dealing with issues instantly. Shows how it can be done. Tickets are printed and we are ready for off on May 28th
  10. Depends what precedes you. Anyone who at that time appeared to be a fairly ordinary run of the mill manager would have been feted because they weren't their predecessors
  11. What we're after is a copy of the audio review of the season we got promoted . We're back for Jack, it was called. We had it for years on cassette and knew it nearly off by heart but we've mislaid it and would love it if anyone could get a copy to us
  12. Its funny how everyone loves watching Faf de Klerk because, whilst on top form he's brilliant, he makes so many mistakes. Watching Tom Curry is great; Marland Yarde and AJ McGinty have come on in leaps and bounds, and the Du Preez twins, if they don't get carded, are amazing. What Sanderson has done with some good players, turning them into a real team, is incredible in a short space of time. Same coaches, same players, but a different vision from the top man. Shows what we could have at Rovers with the correct appointment
  13. Tickets for Sale's last 2 home matches are on sale to members tomorrow and I'm a member.
  14. I dont think I'd have bought a season ticket but I'd probably be at some matches. I have been to some since I stopped being a ST holder. However, what is there in the current set up to entice me to get up and go to Ewood? The football I've watched has been dire. The manager doesnt appear to care. The is little to no atmosphere. The stands were relatively empty. I dont, as many of you do, meet friends, go to the pub or take family since my kids have grown up and moved away. All the social aspects of the match are absent so the football has to be worth watching. Theres no sense of anticipation or excitement if it isn't. My daughter still wants to go sometimes so we normally attend some games. But ST, no. It would take a lot to tempt me. Mowbray's sacking would mean I'd look at attending.
  15. I've come to terms with it in that if he's there, I definitely won't be.
  16. My granddaughter in Germany got her acceptance letter for the Gymnasium (grammar school equivalent here) yesterday. The look of sheer delight on her face when she opened the letter was brilliant
  17. Filling in Customs forms to send gifts to grandchildren in Germany. 13 years I've been sending them without customs forms. And all the writing on the forms now has to be in Block Capitals. It's a minor thing but a damned nuisance. They actually asked for the weight of each item in the parcel. I told them to make it up.
  18. More like 25! My husband, being a southerner, has some Brentford supporting relatives. We used to feel sorry for them.....
  19. He's good but then so are a number of other Sharks players and with Sanderson in charge there seems to be a whole new ambitious mindset. The kind of thing needed at Rovers where they've asked the players what they want to achieve, what their team ethos and identity is and looked at how they achieve it together. PS Faf is pretty good at hula hoop too!
