  1. I always think of them in the old 4th division. That's where they were when I was a kid and used to listen to the results on tv
  2. Also results are about confidence and poor refereeing sucks confidence out of you. Players start to try too hard or misplace easy passes. They lose just a tiny bit of effectiveness, willingness to go into tackles etc if they feel nothing will go their way. The opposition acquire confidence with every dodgy decision they get. Hull must have felt last night they could have sneaked an extra player on and the ref wouldn't have noticed and they played like they had that extra player. None of that excuses the fact that we were poor last night but it compounds it. When you feel you genuinely are playing 12 men, or even 14 since the assistants weren't actually assisting the ref in doing his job properly, it's hard to lift your game
  3. Well, there is but that's only because I loathe City as a club even more than Spurs.
  4. We could bring in a small one then but I doubt he'd be any use
  5. If you had a daughter you wouldn't be able to stop her marrying whoever she wanted if I and my girls are anything to go by!
  6. On phone or tablet press on the e and hold it till the options come up and slide to the one you want é. On PC you usually have to have number lock on, hold down alt key and type 130 I think it is. The other accents are there too I think è is alt 138 but it's a long time since, as a French teacher, I used them regularly and I don't remember the numbers as well as I used to.
  7. Do you think I should avoid going to Ewood. Last time I went we got knocked out of the league Cup. Today we looked somewhat aimless, we got an appalling ref who helped neither side and seemed clueless, failed to capitalise on early pressure and ended up getting a 0-0. Im clearly a jinx
  8. I've looked for a thread to post this but can't find it so I'll put it here with apologies. Clitheroe had 1679 on yesterday! Normal crowd is round 500. Great to feel Shawbridge rock.
  9. Sale Sharks called off their trip to Newcastle today on Christmas Eve and will almost certainly lose 28-0, but the opposition have been able to enjoy more of their Christmas and fans, unless they travelled early, haven't been inconvenienced.
  10. If you call a rugby match off for covid, you forfeit. Opposition get a 28-0 awarded ie max points
  11. I dont even go to Ewood but I'd take Rovers over England every day.
  12. Delighted with the win. I no longer attend Ewood, not because I'm boycotting per se, but because I got driven out by poor decisions by the club and a lack of consultation or at least explanation. I've drifted into doing other things at weekends and doubt I'd ever buy a season ticket again as it wouldn't represent value for money, but I expect I'll get to some matches before the end of the season. Still care enough to be checking result whilst wandering round Delamere Forest Christmas lights
  13. Every time you log in it appears to change the expiry date
  14. we'd probably have come at £20 ticket. Sale are on a bye week, and Clitheroe are away
  15. When I first saw him play for Clitheroe a few years back you could see all that. I came across the team sheet on the computer the other day.
  16. Would you talk about your employees to random strangers in that way? I'd never have expected my employers to do so!
  17. To be fair, I'm not sure Levy even tells the manager until he absolutely has to
  18. I'm actually missing it this Sunday
  19. But for now we're stuck with Mowbray. If only .....
  20. Thing is, as you know I now get my live sport kicks watching Sale Sharks. Now at the start of the season they were saying our fitness levels were going to be better and st first here was no sign of it. But this week they faced Quins, current champions, lightning quick and undefeated this season, and they beat them. Not just beat them but right at the end, and Quins looked out on their feet while the Sharks players looked like they could have played on. Fitness training doesn't always pay benefits in the first match but as you get match sharp it should begin to tell. Clearly Rovers have got something very wrong as their fitness on the pitch doesn't seem to be improving with match sharpness
  21. Has he gone yet? Is there a shred, a glimmer of hope, that he might be on his way out?
  22. I was watching the score with that definite feeling that we'd lose. I've wanted rid of him for some considerable time. I didn't see the early part of the match as I was on a training course being taught to sack eggs so I only caught updates from 74 mins on
