  1. We used to get Ringtons delivered when I ws a kid.
  2. I'm not making a special case for Yorkshire but there's a lot more than that missing regularly with england t20s and odis included just as there are at Lancs.
  3. I think the Souness era was the most fun my family had as Rovers fans. We travelled all over the place because we loved watching the team. We didn't always win, but you always felt we could.
  4. Nobody is wrong because its genuinely about feelings and perceptions. I've explained why I dislike Mowbray. I appreciate that for many he's nowhere near Kean in being loathed. Just to get facts out there. I took part in most of the protests when Kean was manager. I didn't want Kean here. I dont want Mowbray here.
  5. It's opinion. I think I find Mowbray worse because I want him to be a good guy. The guy sounds like so many men from my childhood; he comes from my home. It's therefore far more disappointing when he lets me and my team down. I appreciate that for some, if not most of you, Kean was far worse. I think for me it's the disappointment added to everything else. Kean was the more obviously villainous but then I very quickly knew he was. Mowbray appears a decent honest guy but then he lets you down again.
  6. I didn't say I liked, respected or wanted either of them as manager. Just that Kean was blatantly a chancer and a villain, whereas Mowbray is somehow still pulling the wool over some people's eyes
  7. I actually prefer Kean to Mowbray because at least most people saw through him fairly early on. It took a long time for him to go but we knew he would eventually. I can't see a day when Mowbray goes, and some fans still seem to support/feel sorry for him. in Kean's day we still had the odd good player and we did at least get some entertaining football. There were some decent stories about the players getting angry at Kean. Nowadays they just go to sleep when Mowbray starts talking.
  8. You have. I stopped listening a couple of years ago and it's done wonders for my mental health
  9. I thought it was as much a pen as a lot I've seen and I was pretty much in line with it. Certainly most in the BBE near me thought it was but then at that point we'd have shouted for anything I think. I was surprised not to see it mentioned anywhere else.
  10. There aren't many championship sides that don't have a big brute or 2 playing for them. I'm not writing our kids off. Just saying they need help.
  11. Found the Clitheroe team sheet the other day with Dolan playing. Amazing how far he's come so quickly but you're right. We should not be placing the main workload and the burden of expectation on him. What last night showed was that whilst our kids are reasonably skilful and willing they are not ready to face the rigours of Championship football week in, week out without the help and encouragement of some older, more experienced, hard working pros. They need a game plan they can believe in, a leader who encourages and covers for their mistakes and some more physical types to give them space to play.
  12. I wouldn't say I wouldn't go back but I wouldn't want to pay £32 to do so. For a fiver, whilst frustrating, annoying, downright infuriating it wasn't a waste of money. It got me out of the house on a night when I'd otherwise have struggled to find something to watch on TV as my husband doesn't like me watching anything he might want to watch together
  13. Agree with most of the comments here re the match. We started brightly, missed too many chances, got the goal that should have steadied any nerves and should have gone on to win. However, in the second half they went very direct, had some powerful runners, got a couple of lucky bounces and suddenly their tails are up and they score. After that we messed about, playing round the box, back to the keeper, messed up almost every pass and we all knew what was coming. And, to compound the misery, the ladies toilets were blocked and couldn't be flushed. At least I don't have a season ticket.
  14. I don't need to be entertained really. I just need them to look like they are trying. Last time I was there everything looked to be sterile and overcooked. I watch Clitheroe and they're not great but it's 100% effort. that's all I want
  15. Nice interview with him on rovers website too. classy.
  16. i've printed mine - I got a second email. Never sure my phone will work!
  17. Ok I've got a ticket. Now to pluck up courage to actually go! And Senior was an online option so whoever it was that couldn't find it - perhaps try again
  18. I can but I've sort of lost the confidence nowadays. Parking, walking to the ground on your own and especially walking back to the car afterwards. At one time it wouldn't have bothered me but nowadays it does. It's the only night either of us has anywhere else we have to be too.
