I think Park is more on the recruitment side of things rather than coaching. Maybe Park is coming in to be overseas head of recruitment? I think he was doing that role for one of his previous clubs.
I’ve absolutely no idea, there’s been so much change I can’t begin to understand it. You’d hope that there would be some clear communication via the website once the structure has been complete, but I don’t hold much hope.

A technical director oversees player development and coaching.
The head of recruitment is self-explanatory. apparently that is Sean Kimberley.
So what is John Park coming in to do?
Oversees player development and coaching? As in, makes sure the coaches turn up on time and coach? I am so confused by this, it feels extremely convoluted to me.

Our head of transfers(which look like John Park) and Eustace
our head of transfers, Eustace and Waggott
Brett Baker who is head of Administration
cheers Chaddy, so tell me again, what does this Adam Owen do?

Trying this a different way - and I’m not being facetious:
1) Who is in charge of scouting the players?
2) Who decides if we make an offer?
3) Who decides the maximum offer we’re willing to make?
4) Who completes the paperwork and submits it?

I’m not entirely clear what a technical director does. What is this guys role? Is this replacing Silvestre or Broughton!

It’s encouraging that there is a budget to spend money on Academy signings this summer. It suggests there is also a budget for the first team.
You’re assuming we’re not planning on starting him.

If he stayed he would have ended up playing quite a bit for us last season - and could have put himself in the shop window for lower/mid PL Clubs, who would actually play him.
He'd have probably been offered a new contract with a nice pay rise too.
What does he gain from that? He would have lost 2 years of 8 times his salary. He's already contracted to a top premier league club. He was Plymouth's young POTS (from memory, might be wrong) and will have the opportunity to go to a club at least as good again this year. If he performs well again he will get a loan to a top championship club then an opportunity to either prove himself at Spurs, or get a loan to a bottom third Premier League club. All the while earning 20K a week.

I expect a higher number of new season ticket holders than normal this year though, along with a decrease in renewals.
I really hope this is the case, but I would be astonished if it was.

Where do you think Phillips will be playing next season ?
Another championship team, likely similar to us

Despite all of the bollocks that goes on here, it's actually a fantastic place for young talent to make a name for themselves.
Instead of loaning out our best kids, we play them in the country's second toughest division.
Our owners won't spend money on players, so Academy players are guaranteed first-team minutes, even if they're not quite good enough.
Aside that though, if I was at a Club that spent 8 years moulding me into a top prospect - i'd be very loyal and grateful, despite not supporting them. Would give them at least a couple of years.
As opposed to say, Phillips, who chose to leave, got 8 times his salary and then loaned out to plan more games for Plymouth than he was for us in the same league?

Joins Rovers at 8 years old and becomes a highly-rated prospect thanks to our fantastic Academy... only to jump ship as soon as Newcastle come in with their oil money.
If this is true, then get gone.
Taking supporting Rovers out of the mix here - because he doesn't - what about the last 12-months would make the 15 version of yourself think it wise to commit to Rovers in what is a very short career where key decisions have a huge impact?

If you ring the ticket office and ask them to link the accounts they will do. You will then be able to renew in a couple of clicks. Worked for me anyway.
We're imposing a £10 tax on buying in person so that staffing levels are not needed, but instead people are talking fans through how to avoid it over the phone? How long is that taking? Am I going insane?

I think the club have actually made a real commitment to making it affordable for families. Kids tickets have never been cheaper.
Obviously Preston are seen as the benchmark by a lot of our supporters, but when comparing the two complete offerings you can see that we fare a lot better on seniors, young adults and secondary school age kids.
The three tickets I’ve bought this year would’ve been a tenner cheaper at Preston, so neither here nor there. If my nephew was 11 rather than 7, we’d be coming in 121 quid cheaper.
The kids (U12) pricing is clearly a big success story and thats where they catch the bug. I'd argue they become a fan is a little later. When you crunch the cheapest EB prices based on an adult and 13 year old:
Adult & 11-18 = £425 @ PNE
Adult & 12-18 at Ewood = £405 @ Rovers
£10 Waggott Tax
Rovers are £10 cheaper than PNE for an adult and child.
Come Phase 3, the prices for an adult and 13 year old at Rovers is £574, plus £10 Waggott Tax, making the final price £179 more expensive than Early Bird and £14 more expensive than PNE.
Regardless of my issues on pricing - i.e. even with the £30 discount (£30 is not the difference between a really expensive ticket and a really affordable one), the bigger issues for me are:
1) If Rovers are happy to sell a seat for £349 in May, why is the price £100 more expensive in July? How many people do they expect to pay £100 extra in July for the same product? What makes it more expensive later?
2) If they couldn't release STs earlier due to not knowing what league we are in and submitting budgets for approval to Venkys - why didn't they extend the early bird to counter this?
I guarantee there is record low uptake this year and for me that is down to:
Nobody know what time the games will be on - not the clubs fault
Everyone is thoroughly pissed off with Waggott, Venkys and Pasha - the clubs fault
If they couldn't afford a ST in the 4-week period of early bird then they're being asked to pay £100+ more for the exact same product - the clubs fault

I heard it was John Park and Mark Venus coming back. But that sounds so ridiculous I can only assume its someone trolling me.

What is the news? I hear you say...
Nothing. They just spent a few minutes kissing the Venky's asses for dropping season tickets by £30.
Just done the same and come here to moan. Am I living in a parallel universe here? Are people seriously suggesting that the ST prices where only ever £30 too high and now they're right where they need?

@sympatheticclaret @Tyrone Shoelaces @roverandout @Mercer echoing everyone else's posts. Some lovely words written about clearly some fantastic people. This thread has made me very proud of the BRFCS community this afternoon, thank you for sharing.

Supposedly we’ve been stuck on the same player lists for every window in recent memory, so hopefully this will represent a clean slate. Our permanent signings over the last couple of years have been very hit and miss, and our loan business has been diabolical.
As long as we get replacements in in a timely fashion I don’t think the current exodus is much of a concern.
I agree in principle, but once again I sit here saying: "who was responsible for moving to 'the model' - and why aren't they being held accountable if its determined it wasn't successful?"

I'm on about the Souness, Hughes, Big Sam time where everyone working at Rovers and every penny was all directed into the first team squad and the aim was punch ABOVE your weight. Literally everything since Dec 2010 has not been normal yet the myth is peddled 'oh lots of clubs are run like this'
Bollocks, only similar clubs are with similar crackpot owners.
I find this one of the most frustrating things about being involved within the fanbase. It all comes down to standards to me - we used to have such high ones, now they're frankly disturbingly low.

Just for clarity JB, I never blamed you or the site for the hacked or people knowing my real name(that's why we have using names. Very few people know my real name on here and my plan was to keep it that way.
I know, I'm trying to ensure everyone has two-factor authentication on their accounts!

my BRFCS, twitter and facebook accounts were hacked cos people posting my real name. Maybe you seriously think about posting people names again?
For absolute clarity on this - because its important - you all have the opportunity to have two-factor authentication on your BRFCS account meaning nobody can log in unless you approve it on another device i.e. your phone. If you don't know how to do this post in the 'ask a question' section. There's very little we (BRFCS) can do about people knowing your real name if you post on BRFCS a link your own twitter account which is in your real name.

For what its worth I think if Leonard is going to have any chance of being a success he needs 12 months at the top of L2, then 12 months at the top of L1 or the SPL. He's currently not strong enough, not effective enough and not used to the pressure he's being (wrongfully) put under here at Ewood.

Hello members.
It's that time of the season where BRFCS makes no money because everyone is on holiday and we're not signing anyone, so ad views are way down!
As a reminder, BRFCS offers a premium monthly membership (available here: https://brfcs.com/magazine/premium) which gives you the site without ads. It also means that @Herbie6590 doesn't worry that we're going to go bankrupt, as a not for profit we run it close to the wire!
It also gives you exclusive giveaways, rumoured to include some classic pin badges and whatever other merch Ian creates this year!
Cheers.

I recently worked with INEOS and was told by staff how senior management turn up to sites unexpectedly and do walk arounds with sticky labels saying things like "this isn't up to our standards" and "this is not acceptable to our brand" and the site have 28 days to fix it. Wonder how many sticky notes they've leave around Ewood and Brockhall.
