  1. Send me a DM with your full name please. Three left...
  2. The next Rovers Supporters Consultation with the club is on Thursday next week at Ewood Park at 6pm. As always BRFCS gets five tickets to these, we have four left, so if you would like to attend and hear from Senior Staff at Rovers, plus have the opportunity to ask questions directly to them, please leave your names below.
  3. I think the next one is Feb 8th. We have some tickets if you want to go. I keep posting it and nobody listens but the money we have spent so far is BASED ON SELLING DACK. We don’t have that luxury now for 12 months.
  4. You’re combining losses and transfer spend. The maximum we can lose is 13m a season and that includes a maximum of 8m investment from benefactors (so it’s actually 5m + 8m). Rovers run at a loss of 13m a season because they’ve been told the owners will always put in their maximum 8m. FFP looks at annual losses, not transfer fees or wages - it’s running costs combined. Next year is already included in the FFP calculator as a projection. This helps us because our running costs for next year are currently due to get smaller. What hampers us is the 12m spent on strikers who as yet don’t score very much and we will need so many players. It’s almost impossible to tell without being privy (and understanding) all the books which are submitted, but as I see it year 1 and 2 are at the absolute limit. Year 3 should give us a little bit more flexibility, but if we assume we aren’t renewing all these contracts (which gives us the flexibility) we need a lot of players. If they spend money I suspect it would be on one player there can’t possibly by the 6m on fees when they’re going to need to sign/loan around 8 players.
  5. Clearly, close enough that we can’t bring in without letting go. Every penny is accounted for due to either big transfer fees (Brereton and Gallagher) or high wages on players not wanted (Mulgrew, Smallwood). We lose a lot of wage commitments in summer - Walton, Tosin, Bell, Mulgrew, Smallwood. That will give us some room to flex, but not one of the players leaving shows any return which is really what we need. While it does release some budget, no club has a ‘transfer budget’ like in Football Manager, they work to a ‘players’ budget which will cover transfer fees, agent fees, new contracts, signing on fees, wages - it doesn’t provide any transfer excess for FFP. We will be judged over our first three year cycle, 18/19, 19/20, 20/21. As it stands we have spent circa 16M in that period (not accounting for any fees over the summer) and brought in circa 4M through sales. That’s +12m going into year three. The owners will give their maximum financial input, but I don’t see how we buy for any substantial amount of money without selling someone. Hopefully United buy King in summer for 50m as I believe we have a 15% kick back in his next move.
  6. I told you the hope, not what will happen!
  7. I haven’t changed anyone’s username. The two posters are 100% not the same person.
  8. Ignore these — what was the guy called that broke into Ewood and provided live updates as he tried to track down the board to give them what for?
  9. The guy that posted the Stanley House guest list because it included Kalinic name - along with room number and Rovers credit account at Stanley House was quite something. Equally the guy watching the first team train out of his office window at Brockhall and telling everyone the first 11 plus subs 24 hours in advance. There’s been some good times.
  10. Sounds like that was an off day.
  11. There was loads around that time, wasn’t the Polish keeper one too? Anyway — it was the sort of names that everyone went “who is that??” then it turned out 2 weeks later they where real and we did want to buy them.
  12. We will see - some bloody gamble is that.
  13. Birmingham are in a FFP whole so have just thrown the lot at it knowing there’s trouble coming ahead regardless. FFP is the absolute worst thing that could have happened for a club in our position.
  14. Our transfer business has been dreadful. Essentially we gambled the Dack money we thought we had at any time on Brereton and Gallagher and so far that’s been a terrible decision. We are extremely lucky we have managed to bring through youngsters. The next big sale will be one of Travis, Nyambe, JRC and Buckley. Let’s hope we can use their money wisely in advance to ensure we get promoted the year we sell the asset.
  15. Because Mulgrew had the option to return within the deal with Wigan but had to make the decision on the date which he did. If Charlie had stayed at Wigan he wouldn’t have been able to move for free between now and the end of the season. MLS and Aus can sign frees anytime and we would love to release him on a free. He made the right decision for him, you can’t deny him that.
  16. Unleaded has a long history of calling transfers ahead of any local journalist. I can’t name them off the top of my head, but we are talking years of heads ups on here.
  17. Yes but only 18/19, 19/20 is considered for FFP. That is the years we’ve been in the league. We have sold players for circa 4m during that period. We have bought players for circa 14m during that time. We need a sale to spend any money. We can only loan if it reduces the wage bill. Cunningham leaving would have helped, but Mulgrew is back. If we can get rid of Smallwood, we can sign a loan.
  18. Absolutely - Brereton, Gallagher, £12 million. The only way to beat FFP is to have 2 years of minimal expenditure followed by 1 year of going for it, or sell academy players for money. Wigan have got 10m for their left back, they bought him for 2m. They’ll be going for it tomorrow - that’s a fantastic FFP deal.
  19. Mani won’t like it, but Dack is off if we can get anything like the money we could have got for him this January in January next year when he’s fit. A loan with an option works well for us, we can sign him in summer and the costs will be in the same season as the Dack sale.
  20. Naming players doesn’t scupper deals. Most clubs know roughly who is available. Before a player signs most agents do a last minute run around of other similar stature clubs. But it does wind the club up internally and staff have been called into meetings to tell them to stop discussing things outside of the club. Berg was obsessed with leaks. Bowyer didn’t like it. Mowbray has to be fair done loads to stop it. I’m certainly not ITK but I hear less under Mowbray than I have under almost any manager I can remember.
  21. Have you looked at how much money they’ve received in transfers? They received 20m in two seasons - 14m on academy players, which is what FFP loves.
  22. In other news Wigan have just sold a player to AC Milan.
  23. Probably not - but you won’t see our ITK’ers say I’m wrong and I won’t get wound up at people saying I am. That’s the aim, don’t know who the left back is, they like City for giving them Tosin and City like us - do they have any?
  24. As far as I’m aware I’m the only person that can change peoples usernames and I haven’t changed any recently. Anyway - they want Smallwood out to Barnsley or Sunderland, a left back in on loan and Freeman on a loan with an option. Mulgrew is staying around until he can get off to the US or Aus.
