Clarification of the Moderation For those feeling unjustly treated, let's try and make things more transparent. Issue 1: Keeping Threads on Topic This is to enhance the enjoyment of everyone using and reading the forum. If you're in the transfer thread, it's about transfers only. It's not about Tony Mowbray (that's the TM thread), it's not about the quality of opposition in the pre-season friendlies (that's the Pre-season thread), it's not about where the signings will play in the first game (that's the Charlton match thread) etc. etc. Yes, there may be a bit of crossover from time to time, but if everyone tries to keep discussions to the relevant threads, chances are the Mods won't intervene. Issue 2: Opinions always being linked to persons or groups. Example - "I think Ben Brereton is useless, will not be a success at this club, and won't get over 10 goals in any season." = No problem, that's a personal opinion. Example - "I think everyone that thinks BB can get double figures is an idiot, and knows nothing about football." = Problem. Not just a personal opinion, attacking others for their opinions. Issue 3: Moderation Mods are here to try and make the messageboard run smoother for everyone. If you feel harshly treated don't spam the threads with it, DM someone in the Mod team, or address it in the Ask a Question section. Some-one will try their best to answer your queries. It's been said before but needs saying again, Mods also get involved in the general forum chat, and have opinions too. That is separate from their Moderation duties. If you don't like a Mod's opinion, deal with it like you would any other poster within the forum rules. If you don't like a Mod's actions in their responsibilities and duties, deal with it using the options listed above. Final Note: The last month or so has been a bit testing on the board. Not much football happening to discuss, and not as much transfer activity happening as most would like (particularly in the areas of the pitch most would like). But tomorrow, the football kicks off again, and we'll all have some different topics to moan or cheer about. We know it can frustrating for posters to get warnings, bans, and have some of their posts deleted. If everyone tries to stick to the rules - particularly keep to the right threads, and not make things personal - then I think the Mods would have to intervene a lot less, and you would see less bans, and fewer posts going AWOL. Have a good weekend everyone, and here's to a very rare and long forgotten opening day of the season win tomorrow

Ok folks - if you're going to discuss moderators or moderation do it in the correct section, not here. I've hidden plenty of posts, anything past here will be deemed taking the thread off topic. Now I'm off to convince K-Hod to come back!

Bolton Wanderers Unpaid Staff Need Food bank.
J*B replied to StubbsUK's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I find it very strange that Bury FC have a paid social promotion on Facebook, which is essentially the chairman saying stop protesting at my house. If the posts are reaching me it's either 1) very poorly targeted or 2) a very expensive campaign. -
By definition, you can't troll a person. The post you mention is nothing more than an opinion. An opinion many will not agree with - maybe - but one that's certainly not breaking any rules.

No this is a moderator having an opinion. As per the thread in forum notices, its actively encouraged. We do not want or need robots, we want people to stop threads being derailed or ending up in slanging matches.

Decided to play with Google Maps this evening. I've calculated the amount of time Tosin Adarabioyo has been linked with Blackburn #Rovers. The earliest link I can find is 21 days and 14 hours ago: 8am on the 9th July. Could you walk to Venkys HQ from Ewood Park in that time, I hear you ask? No, is the answer. You would be in Kiev, the capital of the Ukraine if you had set off at exactly the same time. With just under 53 days left to travel. If we last until 22:12 tomorrow, we will reach Kaniv, one of the Ukraine's main inland ports, just off the Dnieper River.

Three points are available as of August 3rd. You would like to think any player has 7 days to integrate into the squad, especially if overseas. That means... oh, wait a minute.

Hi everyone, Just wanted everyone to know that @OnePhilT has decided to step down from volunteering to work on the front end of the website. I'd like to really thank him - from everyone at BRFCS for all the work he's done - the front page is revolutionised (https://www.brfcs.com/), the new theme is unanimously liked and he's done loads of cleaning up which means we can do things like create the player archive, which is here if anyone isn't aware: https://www.brfcs.com/mb/index.php?/player-archive/ . I'm sure he doesn't want to plaudits, but he really has been irreplaceable! In terms of what this means for you - it means BRFCS now has nobody with front end web experience. We still have - thankfully - a few people who help out with the back end, but in terms of how the forum is viewed it will stay how it is for the foreseeable. Phil kindly finished off a couple of bits and made some guidelines that we can follow, but any more major changes are off the cards. If you are a web dev and would like to volunteer, our messages are always open! Other BRFCS news: We will continue to lose people from behind the scenes if certain people don't stop treating this forum like they currently are doing. The BRFCS transfer thread is - every single year - the hardest thread to run. Its tiresome, especially when we aren't signing players. We're all sick of the bickering, name calling and trolling, so I assume you are too. I'm pretty much out of ideas on how to stop it - we could restrict members, but thats not what a forum is about, we could also force members to show their real names or social media accounts, but I don't want to be responsible for arguments at the ground. My latest thinking is to bring on board a few more moderators who can look over the site, as with Phil stepping down we're currently down to three, K-Hod, Tom and myself. I'm happy to speak to anyone who thinks this is something they might like, but I must tell you that being in this position is often no fun! All three of us will tell you it sucks the enjoyment out of the forum - the only reason I do it is because I don't want to see the website fade away, I suspect the others feel the same. In the meantime, i'm taking a really strong hand (which I hate doing), because moderating in the previous style taking up 3/4 hours per day. Rule breaks won't be discussed over PMs, posts won't be hidden without repercussion, it's straight to bans unfortunately. The knock on effect from losing people is that we're slowed down creating a content site for Rovers fans. The podcast and players archive are exactly where we want to end up, we're really proud of them. The team working on podcasts enjoy making them and have all become good friends, the player archive is the biggest public one available.

Formation/tactics for next season
J*B replied to Bigdoggsteel's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I should flag I think neither system is great, I would go... Nyambe Lenihan Williams Bell Travis Johnson Chapman Dack Rothwell Graham But I just dont understand how we can have three strikers totally 14m on the bench. -

In a 5-3-2 Dack wouldn't have to do anything but track back a little more when defending. When attacking Mulgrew would push forward and we would go 4 at the back.
