  1. I think Graham and Dack will play but not finish 90 minutes of the game. But if Dack wasnt fit along with Mulgrew and Graham I would go like this Luetwiler Nyambe Lenihan Rodwell Williams Reed Evans Armstrong Palmer Bennett Brereton Subs:- Fisher Bell Travis Conway Rothwell Smallwood Nuttall
  2. Dack lives in Manchester I believe judging by his instagram post
  3. Exactly. At least Brereton is buying a house and putting some roots down. Good on him Who has said hes on peanuts? No-one. 10k a week is a very decent wage. I agree. Mowbray's signings suggest a change of policy and going for younger players who will develop here. Please keep posting. Ignore these people. Use the ignore function Do you deal with Blackburn Rovers and Waggott/Mowbray? Same as your info Mercer you posted. How many times did you say Rhodes would leave? Lost count ???
  4. What other strikers did we try for? PM if you want? Thanks for sharing, please keep posting. Some people might cricitise but at least you are telling the full story.
  5. People do talk to Mowbray, the players and Waggott before/after games, at meetings and special events. Thats why I use maybe and a question mark.
  6. Unsall has answered this below. Brereton wages would be sensible. Maybe around 10k. Was Marriott's wages around 20k a week?
  7. His wages were too high for us. Marriott isnt a player like Graham so we have to change style like we had when Armstrong or Brereton play there
  8. Very good point. Paul Hurst drop him as number 1 there? Correct?
  9. Like who? And why when we have 2 more keepers anyway. Why? And if he is why hasnt he been on the bench this season?
  10. Fisher can handle first team exposure https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/17189476.rovers-youngster-fisher-can-handle-first-team-exposure/?ref=mac
  11. True on both accounts. Bennett will start but big question is will Graham be fit?
  12. Sounds like Raya and Mulgrew are out of playing
  13. Lambert on these 10 million pounds budget rumours The former Norwich manager went on to deny rumours of a £10m budget for the January transfer window to help Lambert steer the club away from relegation. “It does make me laugh, because I haven’t even seen that figure or spoken about anything like that,” Lambert added. “I’m 100% sure we’ll see a different team on Saturday. The atmosphere will be different in the stadium, I’m sure, and we have to play on the front foot. “I don’t want to be judged by past success and failures, I’ll be judged from now on in and hopefully we’ll climb that table.” http://the72.co.uk/118315/i-dont-want-to-be-judged-by-past-success-and-failures-paul-lambert-wants-fresh-start-at-ipswich-town/ Lambert 1st press conference http://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/ipswich-town-manager-paul-lambert-s-first-press-conference-1-5757292
  14. Luetwiler Bennett Lenihan Rodwell Williams Reed Evans Palmer Dack Armstrong Graham Subs:- Luetwiler/Fisher, Bell, Nyambe, Smallwood, Conway, Rothwell, Brereton Rovers to win 1 nil. But a very tight game. The team I think Tony will pick Luetwiler Bennett Lenihan Rodwell Williams Reed Smallwood Palmer Dack Rothwell Armstrong
  15. Everyone is entitled to have an opinion and discuss his team selection, formation and tactics but Blueboy's comment are unacceptable. No I didnt see the programme. Sorry to hear Wait a minute K-Hod, we get told of mods that instead of wrecking the messageboard with a slanging match. Also done it to stop me from ban again. So I dont reaction to some people. You cant have it both ways..
  16. Looking forward to this. Get ticket on Saturday.
  17. You would be better putting him on ignore. I have. Got over 25 people on ignore list. Make reading the site much better. No point debating with him..his comments are disgraceful about Mowbray. I'm starting to wonder if certain people are waiting for Mowbray so they can say told him he wasnt the right manager for us.
  18. I feel that players like Bennett and Reed can play in various roles and they perform well enough.important during a game. Rothwell and Palmer start wide but dont have to stay wide as they roam and find space and clever movement. We dont play natural wingers just like Liverpool or Man City do. Williams played at centre back for Bristol City. (In a 3 man defence) Agree on Dack and false 9 role. Not for me. I dont come on this messageboard 2 hours a home games as I busy befoe hand. I post Mowbray's views as they answer some questions posed by people. We can debate it after but at least we can understand where he coming from and his thinking. Last sentence unwarrented
  19. versatility is crucial under Mowbray and understanding the role he wants you to play. Rodwell can play centre back and he reads the game well and good techinally. Mowbray doesnt play with natural wingers and never tbh. Ive shown the stats of where Rothwell played for Oxford last season. Not over it again. He starts from the left but cuts in just the right side player does allowing both full backs to provide the width wide. Dack has a free role he will be everywhere. You complained when I used the laughing emoji but its fine for you to do it. Maybe practical when you preach 1st. As Mowbray has said every player understand in their role in the side, he talks them and involved in everything. I'm fan of a team having at least 3 different formations that the team feels very comfortable in and understand their roles within them. Maybe understand Mowbray thinking and logic. The last sentence is a joke and needs removing quickly. How is he? He expressing an opinion whilst understanding Mowbray's thinking and logic.
  20. We did not set up for a point. Mowbray went for the win and we would have had if we had got 2 stonewalled penalties. Those managers might play the same formation but change the team with 2 or 3 changes every week. I like the fact that Mowbray keep changing formations and its works most of the time. I expected to see 3 at the back yesterday from the start but he went another way. The players adapt and play the way he wants and they understand why he is playing that way. Playing for Mowbray requires a lot of understanding and adaptable. When we play Dack in the 10 role against Sheffield United in 4-2-3-1 formation, Wilder man mark Dack out of the game by Norwood on him. He stop us from playing and it was easy. Since then Mowbray has change it up more and we got good results. Mowbray was cricitised by WBA fans for playing the same way every game there. So we cant have it both ways. You mention Wilder and Lampard play the same way every game. Yes they do. So does Biesla at Leeds but they have been found out. Pulis changes formations regular this season. Some games its been 3-5-1-1 and some games it 4-3-3.
  21. I was delight that Gayle wasn't playing I disagree it was a team selection full of square pegs in round holes. Only 2 players out of position. Rothwell has played wide left in most of his games here, Palmer plays wide under Mowbray. Only Conway and Dack out of position. Bennett, Williams and Rodwell can play a number of positions and well. Our squad requires adaptable under our Mowbray. I am not a fan of the Dack up front thing or of putting Graham on bench if he isn't fit enough to play, Downing could have taken that position on bench. I would have play Brereton up front. You will say Armstrong. either of them would have caused them problems for the centre back. imbalanced transfer recruitment? great to hear this very good post. Mowbray a very clever man and the players knows these formations well. They will work on them, Mowbray explains them to these and his ways of thinking. We have 3 or 4 different formations we can play and I think it a good thing. The players aren't confused by these changes in formations like some will say.
  22. I don't agree with Mercer one bit and Mowbrays had his targets for other positions but didn't spend just for the sake of it.
  23. He is very close to Lambert and he had the inside track here when he came here. It will be interesting to see how he spends the money. need 3 or 4 new players. Plus how he set ups the team whether it diamond formation midfield or 4-2-3-1 or 3 at the back
