Very good win against a very good team who I expect to be challenging for top6/2. Today victory was down to work rate, defensive shape, hard work and us playing a counter attack gameplan. No way could we been open and attacking cos Brentford would have rip us apart. I thought Bennett was outstanding. His work rate, closing down, tackling and commitment shows why he is Mr. Blackburn Rovers. Represented the Club badge 100% Also thought Bell, Lenihan, Rothwell and Evans all had good games. I was disappointed by Palmer and Nuttall performances as I felt their work rate and closing down wasn't good enough for me. We didn't play to Nuttall's strengths but still expect his work rate to be better. Special mention to Raya who made 2 great saves and kept us in the game. But if we can keep this form up and get a couple of signings in this week we could challenge for top 6 possibly but that's not main target for the season. Mid table for me. I stand by my prediction of 14th at this stage. if we are top 10 by Christmas then no reason we can't challenge for top 6 then

I read that Heckingbottom is the favourite for the job. Grayson was linked last season. I think Daws got the job cos of him getting them in the playoffs. But they have lost 3 good players in the summer in Holmes, Townsend and Toney(loan) But my questions is what is the target this season and the budget going forward?

I would take him. I think I would pay up to 10 mil for him Cant see him being a Pulis type player. Not a target man type I agree this closing the window early has been nothing short of a mess and done nothing at all different. I can understand the principles of closing it early but everything now to be closed 2 or 3 days for loans aswell. I'm can share some of your frustration. Maybe some of the terms of the Reed deal has change the last minute. Mennie has been huge disappointment. Why he was signed I dont care. Why Brown, Chanderpaul, Croft, Lamb, Lester are at the Club I dont know. Not good enough. We need 2 batsman and 2 bowlers. 2 batsman to bat 3 and 5 plus 2 pace bowlers. Parkinson is a good quality spinner.

The Kent pitch was awful. Not the sort of pitch that should be played on. Jennings and Parkinson played well. Still think Lancs need 3 or 4 players to improve the 4 day cricket side.

Not a player I wanted due to injury record but starts with a clean blue and white slate. Mowbray thinks he can add value to the squad and clearly think he wont us a problem in the dressing room. Hope Mowbray is right Over to Rodwell to prove me wrong..
