Mennie has been huge disappointment. Why he was signed I dont care. Why Brown, Chanderpaul, Croft, Lamb, Lester are at the Club I dont know. Not good enough. We need 2 batsman and 2 bowlers. 2 batsman to bat 3 and 5 plus 2 pace bowlers. Parkinson is a good quality spinner.

The Kent pitch was awful. Not the sort of pitch that should be played on. Jennings and Parkinson played well. Still think Lancs need 3 or 4 players to improve the 4 day cricket side.
-
Not a player I wanted due to injury record but starts with a clean blue and white slate. Mowbray thinks he can add value to the squad and clearly think he wont us a problem in the dressing room. Hope Mowbray is right Over to Rodwell to prove me wrong..

First Ive heard of it. But thanks for explaining. My apologises for getting the wrong end of the post. -
I wouldnt be in favour Rodwell as a centre back option

"Rodwell is someone I've had a chat with." #Blackburn manager Tony Mowbray confirms talks with midfielder Jack Rodwell. #Rovers #bbclancssport #bbcfootball https://t.co/kJXMgKsVdW

Firstly I never had a go at people for suggesting over 30 but said its the age bracket. So far this summer we havent been linked to a over 30 year old player. Ricky you come on and insult me every time. This is not playing a victim card but FACT!!! maybe try discussing transfers and stop getting personal with me. If you have an issue then put me on ignore please and I do the same.

Yes I believe he should been in the squad. But if he going to get push down the pecking order by Reed and others. Rothwell looked very good yesterday. If he isnt going to be playing much here no point him playing cup games and under 23's. Would I be signing Reed? No cos I would give Travis the nod. Smallwood been poor. Him and Evans could be the partnership.

You believe? Zero evidence I see. Or its because they dont pick the players you want? -
Nothing like a personal dig from You Ricky. Shame you have to be that way instead of keeping the thread civil and on topic Links were all posted yesterday/last night K-Hod. Travis would benefit from starting every game in league 1 compare some game time here from bench plus cup games.

Budget still there. Reed coming in. Hopefully loan to buy. Another player coming in I think either Fleetwood or Bradford would be good options for him. He needs to play regulary. I think he be a top player for us in the future. I would like him to stay but understand to loan him out.

Whittingham and Caddis leaving very shortly? Not even on bench tonight
-
Yes looks that way Travis will go out on loan. Im unsure on Rodwell. Im sure Mowbray will make sure he is proper fit and ready before any deal happens isn't that 4 players? out of contract player? Reed the name that been banded around Brereton the striker. another?

I don't think Rodwell will happen tbh

surprised by Stoke struggle but their fans supposedly turned on Rowett and said he getting sack in the morning. He has spent a lot of money there and surprised by the poor results so far. I'm not saying he should be sack but I thought they would be better. Bolton win again. Not really. A director of football is in charge of making signings, negotiating transfer bids and contracts, etc. Whilst Head coach focusing more on the training pitch, games and coaching the players. McClaren will suggest players but I would imagine its Les Ferdinand job to get the signings in. He will talk to McClaren about the players he was positions and then come up with shortlist then decide together who they go for. Its good when it works well. Lots of foreign clubs used it without a problem so why do we struggle in this country to accept it -
from the LT Article “I hope tomorrow we've got a couple of announcements to make and then we need players in the forward area to help us and are working hard on that as well,” Mowbray said. “The squad is stretched. Sam Hart was on the bench and hasn’t played any football all year. “That’s where we were with the squad. We’re working very hard, trying to get deals done and I would hope we’re still working on some bigger deals that will drop in for us. “Let’s hope the injuries aren’t too bad and we have to keep looking. “I’ve talked about the recruitment and we work down lists. “We’re working hard but the lists are getting strained, but fingers crossed in the next nine days we can get a squad we feel can be competitive in the division for the next five months.” Rodwell, who is able to play in both central defence and central midfield, could be another through the Ewood arrivals door. Addressing the Anichebe, as well as the possibility of a deal for Rodwell, Mowbray said: “I don’t really want to talk about specifics. “Someone told me Victor Anichebe was here tonight but I don’t think that’s one for us today. “Rothwell is someone I’ve had a chat with recently and we’re making some decisions on things. “Jack Rodwell played for Manchester City, he’s played in the Premier League and for England. He’s had a tough time and everyone knows his reputed salary at his previous club and if we do anything then I think we should all give the boy an opportunity. “It shouldn’t be an expensive deal for us. If something happens then the boy needs to be given a chance to prove himself and we shouldn’t question his question his talent and his class. “He played for Manchester City and his injuries have been the bane of his career but let’s wait and see. “There are no guarantee that’s going to be happen. “I would hope there’s going to be some bigger deals to be done at the football club than a couple of free agents coming in to the club. “We have to assess our injury problems. We have to get a bench together for Saturday. We’ll assess it and people who weren’t involved tonight aren’t as bad as we fear.”

How its a panic buy when we been negotiating for 2 weeks with them. Anichebe not happening. Rodwell unsure on. Not sure he what we need. Reed would be good. Hopefully loan to buy. Maybe numbering Smallwood starting days

Yes Stuart we have pick up a really good player. Your post is spot on. Would like to next to Evans on Saturday subject to injuries and new signings

I thought we were unlucky not to win the game after 90 mins. Before the game started I expect a win, at half time I would be happy with a draw but at full time I was mixed feeling. pleased we got a draw but felt we could/should have won. We started at the front foot which was good to see. Their 1st goal came against the run of play. Felt it was mistake by Lenihan who had a very poor 1st half but got better second half. Raya made a great save but the second goal was scored from his save. Second half it was all us. WE up the tempo and Reading couldn't keep up with it. Rothwell was excellent and deserved MOTM, Bell and Nyambe played well. Lenihan and Smallwood poor today. The penalties were both right decisions. Mulgrew took both well It was good to see Mowbray change formation twice during the game. We started 4-4-2 with Graham and Armstrong up front, After half time we played more of 4-3-3 formation with Samuel right Graham centre and Conway left with Bennett and Rothwell ahead of Evans in centre midfield. When Samuel got injured we went 3 at the back with Nyambe, Mulgrew and Lenihan, Conway and Bell wing backs and Graham and Nuttall up front. Injuries to Armstrong and Samuel could leave us short if long term. Did we miss Dack? of course we have to find a way to play without him. That's Football But up to 9th and still unbeaten. We more than comfortable in this league and good enough
