  1. Sky Sports News reporting that Brereton is at Brockhall having his medical before completing a loan deal with him signing Permanent deal in January for 6 million pounds
  2. It was my opinion Ricky. Brentford are a good footballing side who play attacking football. cant play defensive game. I'm surprised they are selling Ryan Woods tbh.
  3. Did I not suggest a defender in Liam Lindsay from Barnsley. suggested him during the summer. I think Rodwell did play there as a youth player and maybe in the under 23's. (could be wrong tho) If Rodwell is the back up centre back then we don't need another centre back imo. We don't want to overload the squad. on the wide role, We could do with pacey wide player. But we do have a lot of options wide in Bennett, Armstrong, Palmer, Conway, Rothwell. Could I name a player we could go for? No I couldn't. Palmer will have develop his defensive work in the side look at Rothwell and the work rate/defensive work you have to do in this team. Rothwell has been great since coming in.
  4. Well firstly, It's my opinion. Yes I didnt want Rodwell here due to injury record not on Sunderland fans views. But hes here and Its someone Mowbray thinks he can do a job in the team. Well I would use Rodwell as defensive midfielder next to Evans. But I think Mowbray see him as defender. On the subject of fitness didnt he do pre season at Watford and almost sign there. So a couple of under 23's games he be fit imo. I have no idea what AAK has said as he on ignore list. Yes we dont change formation but Mowbray has said how he wants to use the 2 wide players and their roles within the team structure. Yes Mowbray could change his views in certain games. Look at Bennett in the 10 role today. Outstanding
  5. Then we have to agree to disagree on that aswell then.
  6. Like I said a Striker a wide man is must. And if Rodwell is the back centre back then do we really need 5th/6thh centre back option. But if he going to midfielder then we need a centre back signing. I go for Linsday from Barnsley. We dont play with natural wingers mostly. Mowbray has explained why he plays this way
  7. Yes Results does get people on side but so does manager attitude towards to fans surely has an impact. Would you not agree? We have to agree to disagree om McCarthy
  8. Linked with Leicester City. 10 million pounds https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/7101888/leicester-blackburn-golden-boy-bradley-dack/
  9. I can see us signing 2 or 3 players. Striker, winger and either centre back/centre midfielder from West Brom?
  10. sadly for you so did I Jack so move on
  11. Better football can be played regardless of money. Relationship with fans is a massive part of the job. Need to have them on side I agree that Harrison and Jackson are questionable signings but Hurst knows that market and that what he is buying from
  12. I wonder where Rodwell will play tbh? We need a striker in, winger and either centre back or centre midfielder. I think we get the striker and possible Reed Thanks for sharing unsall. Was anyone there players wise?
  13. No I suggested McCarthy could have played better football with the squad he had. Plus I said he didn't have a good relationship with the fans Where did I belittle him? No I said he could have had played better football and had better relationship with fans Don't forget that they sold Waghorn, Webster and Garner for 9 million in total this season and only spent 5 million. But it appears that their owner Marcus Evans wont spend from his own pockets
  14. I didn't think had Palmer poor game tbh but I guess today isn't the game to judge him considering our tactics and gameplan. But he got a good goal. Great to see you back JB. I suggested Accrington before for a loan move for Nuttall guess it a rest Jack. its a shame you cant comment on my post about the game instead
  15. No win for Reading or Ipswich so far. Not surprised by Ipswich struggles. Hurst has bought from League 1 and 2 clubs and the market he knows. Everyone said they struggle this season and they are. No point sacking Hurst as the point is with the owner and lack of investment.
  16. Very good win against a very good team who I expect to be challenging for top6/2. Today victory was down to work rate, defensive shape, hard work and us playing a counter attack gameplan. No way could we been open and attacking cos Brentford would have rip us apart. I thought Bennett was outstanding. His work rate, closing down, tackling and commitment shows why he is Mr. Blackburn Rovers. Represented the Club badge 100% Also thought Bell, Lenihan, Rothwell and Evans all had good games. I was disappointed by Palmer and Nuttall performances as I felt their work rate and closing down wasn't good enough for me. We didn't play to Nuttall's strengths but still expect his work rate to be better. Special mention to Raya who made 2 great saves and kept us in the game. But if we can keep this form up and get a couple of signings in this week we could challenge for top 6 possibly but that's not main target for the season. Mid table for me. I stand by my prediction of 14th at this stage. if we are top 10 by Christmas then no reason we can't challenge for top 6 then
  17. Ben Brereton remains #Rovers' number one target, and the club are working hard to try and finalise a deal. Not there yet, but some progress https://t.co/lmfTex7QCo In other news, understand there's more chance of Cilla Black than QPR striker Idrissa Sylla arriving before Friday's loan deadline. From Rich Sharpe
  18. I sorry but all subs came on and had an impact on the game. Yes it not the ideal bench but it was what it was looks hope we got this deal done and dusted
  19. I read that Heckingbottom is the favourite for the job. Grayson was linked last season. I think Daws got the job cos of him getting them in the playoffs. But they have lost 3 good players in the summer in Holmes, Townsend and Toney(loan) But my questions is what is the target this season and the budget going forward?
  20. we have to agree to disagree on Raya
  21. No I didn't but you see people have a go at me instead of the original poster who said it
  22. We don't know how he will play or handle the pressure. But he has potential and talent and he seems to handle the pressure for Forest and handle the pressure there. I don't see many teams coming here and play a deeper line. I doubt Brentford will this week but both Samuel and Armstrong are out. wasn't involved in the under 23 game either tonight Reed not involved in the under 23's game either.
  23. Well I disagree it was an great save. I'm standards have not been lower at all so that is a load of rubbish. Young keepers, older keepers and even the best keepers made mistake in games. Most championship keepers make mistakes
  24. most things are far from certain in life Tom. Doesn't stop us from using or doing them
  25. Why does Brereton need to be able to hold the ball up? can we not play a different way like we did at Hull and won. We got our target man striker already in the club. If you want another target man type do you have any suggestions? Yes we can agree on we need 3 players in. Striker, wide man and centre back/centre mid(depending on where Rodwell will play and if Travis gets loan out) Your argument is well thought out and I cant argue against your points
