I would still start this game with this team and given Mola will be under 21's so I would put Morton on the bench instead Going for 2 nil win with Hirst and Brereton Diaz scoring -

Team news is everyone is fit apart from Sam Barnes. Jack Vale and Clinton Mola will play with the under 21's https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/22879366.blackburn-rovers-fitness-boost-ahead-millwall-visit/ -
Sam Szmodics-Your thoughts?
chaddyrovers replied to BRFC4EVA's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Jon Dahl Tomasson says Sam Szmodics gave a good response to not being included in the last two matchday squads and dropping into the Under-21s for their win at Tottenham Hotspur. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/22886293.no-complaining-szmodics-says-blackburn-rovers-boss/ -
Dier is a good centre back. He is suited to playing the middle of the back 3. Playing well for Spurs under Conte. K-Hod mentioned Ben White who is someone I forget about to be honest. He has been good for Arsenal. Plus Stones and Tomori are other centre backs I would be taking to the world cup. I think your assumption would be right. Its not the way I would go. I would go 4-2-3-1 against all 3, but I think Southgate will go 3-4-3 against Wales.
-
He is form and Southgate should be picking him ahead of Maguire for sure who isn't in form at all
-
Well, that isn't a surprised is it given that it was stubbornness and unwillingness to change our formation and tactics that cost us our playoff place and chance of promotion. With that fact you backed sticking with the back 3 formation that wasn't working for weeks after weeks. It simply doesn't matter how long you wanted him out for. Irrelevant to be honest. Venkys continue to back the club and every manager/head coach who is appointed. We had Money to spend in January and several well-respected posters have posted this on here. Yes I know Rovers could have signed a young PL striker on loan last January and Mowbray refuse the deal. I know who this striker was. I think he would have good option for us for 4 months. Mowbray was backed last summer and he had budget to spend and he decided to sign 5 players with it, He still have money left over from it. Maybe if Maja had sign on loan then the budget might have been spent, but we didn't. Mowbray then decided to sign 5 during that window, and people have posted on here he still money left over. I am led to believe that the owners give the budget to the club for the season and its down to the Manager in Mowbray case or now down to Broughton and Tomasson how we spend that budget over the season. The Armstrong money went to settled last season FFP requirements. You don't sell key players to your rivals in a promotion race, and you don't sell your key goal scorer on the cheap like you would have accepted low offers for him from 3 clubs. We spend around 2 million in fees and Mowbray was allowed to sign 12 players during that season and have a squad over 30 players. Plus, covid hit the club heard in terms of revenue and no money coming into the club. Yet the owners backed the manager and club in the money. Also, why the bought the training ground to help us with FFP this season. More money they put into the club. The academy is producing quality players who are first team standard so they should be part of the squad. JDT has been willing to put his faith and believe in players like Adam Wharton, Sam Barnes, Ash Phillips and Jack Vale to make them part of first team squad

Huddersfield have appointed Mark Fotheringham as their new head coach to replace Danny Schofield. This is his first role as number 1. -

That was don't the reasons how they were injured was it on the training ground or pick up a slight injury in a game. JDT doesn't give much away that way. I agree with that Rigger I have never said that anything is perfection at Rovers but I unlike you don't look for problems that aren't they. It's squad game and no one player has the right to start regardless the fee involve. I thought he would suit how JDT wants to play when JDT joined here, but has we have seen he has preferred Hedges, Dolan or Gallagher there. I can only guess he hasn't impressed as much as the others but hopefully over the coming months he will get his chance and show us what he worth. -
no response to the points I made like advising our head of recruitment to leave for another club whilst Rovers head coach (I would have sacked him for that), his stubbornness at not ditching his 3-4-3 formation when it was clearly to plenty of Rovers fans it wasn't working (you backed him on keeping it) and we needed to go back playing 4-2-3-1 formation. If he was so unhappy about contract situation, then he could have also quit couldn't you, but he decided to stay here. So, it's time he put a sock in it. on the budget, he decided not to spend his budget last season. That's on him. If we sign Maja maybe his budget but we didn't so Money left over summer budget? is that incorrect? The owners more than enough backed Mowbray in every season he was here, and I don't get how you can say he wasn't. They were plenty of strange tactical decisions from Mowbray. Here are some of them, playing Gallagher at right back, moving Armstrong to the left from the number 9 to play Elliott has false 9 now, Kharda as a wing back against Reading away, Johnson false 9 against Derby. That is just off top of my head. You don't sell a key player to your direct rival in a promotion run in. You would have sold Brereton-Diaz on the cheap and we discussed plenty of this recently and my opinion hasn't change and I still back keeping him for the season even if he leaves at the end of the season. Rovers wanted to keep Nyambe on longer contract and we don't even know what the bid was. He wanted Maja on a loan to buy but sadly him and his staff didn't do their homework on him and didn't know he had back injury. Also, Mowbray had Money to spend in January for a forward, but he decided not to which is from the person himself.

But we don't know the full exact why and what happens with most. JDT doesn't give great detail. We have a very good performance director. His CV is good and rated highly by others -

Are these injuries all soft tissue injuries as was the point rigger was saying? -
No, he hasn't. He has spoken about advising our head of recruitment Stuart Harvey to move to Sunderland whilst he is Rovers head coach. Is that complimenting the club by advising employees to leave here? is that a natural thing for a head coach to do? really? Also, his comments make it out like he walked away from Rovers but the truth of it Rovers and owners wouldn't give him a new contract, and this was right for us to do. His time here is done now, but he is still bitter that we didn't offer him a contract during that good spell. It's doesn't matter whether I was a fan of his time, but I was still saying on here for weeks that his 3-4-3 formation wasn't working, and you defend it and him every time. It was clear to me that him and his tactics needed to change for us to achieve a playoff place at very least., but down his stubbornness and incompetence we didn't make the playoffs. That on him in the main. The owners gave him money to spend money in the last 2 transfer windows and he didn't spend it. Mike E has posted this, and others have in the past. Maybe Mowbray should have spent all of his budget in the transfer window and maybe we might have done better. Yes, Mowbray did some good things for Rovers but the successful of our academy is down to lots of people at the club including him, Stuart Jones, Mike Sheron and several other behind the scenes Plus the owners keep funding it and keeping our Cat 1 status every season, they have been here. It isn't solely down to Mowbray and has we have seen this season, JDT and GB have put more faith in our promising players and promoted them to the first team squad like Jack Vale, Adam Wharton and Ash Phillips. Plus, Sam Barnes, Jake Batty and Jake Garrett being part of the first team squad this season. Look at how many times in the last 3 months of last season that the 3-4-3 formation didn't work and he kept having to change it during a game but he wouldn't start with the formation he kept changing to. Ever wonder why he wouldn't? for me, 2 reasons which are his stubbornness to admitted he was wrong and incompetence.

more good news for Rovers -
He couldn't have the 10 million from Armstrong sale since it went towards FFP requirements. I tell you two things that would have made a difference. 1, switch formation to 4-2-3-1 instead of his stubbornly sticking to a formation that wasn't working. I was saying this for weeks before he did it. Maybe Mowbray should have realised this but the same old stubborn Mowbray was here. 2. Play Giles in his correct position and stop trying to turn into Mahrez. Thank god this 🤡 has left our club.
-
Question all you want but I can't Rovers changing it now. I miss going to them tbh.
-
Blimey they back him every season. Last season no he didn't get the Armstrong money but he has to understand that money was needed for FFP. Plus he still had Gallagher and Brereton who cost 12 million. If he was so unhappy he could have walk away couldn't he? I'm bored of listening and reading his comments now. His Stuart Harvey's comments riled me more than this article but I see these latest comments as his saving face then anything. He failed to mention that it was his fault why we went from second to 8th in 3 months, wasted Giles, wouldn't changes his tactics that wasn't working in the last 3 months.
-
I wouldn't play him myself. If I was picking back 3 I would pick Stones, Dier and Tomori.
-
Dier in form for his club. I would pick him. Pope is only playing cos Pickford is injured. On Maguire unsure but need some good form now

Newcastle, West Ham or Everton aren't going to go down any time soon. -
It's only 2 staff that joined them since Summer. Hindle and Scout Barrett Read this article early today. He makes it out like he left us not that his contract wasn't renew
-
Well I understand what you mean but JDT wants it this way. Stuart Jones and Mike Sheron rely all the info back to him about performances and JDT is happy with this

Don't know how people can't see how Rovers want to play in terms of style. For me, been plenty of signs of this for me. Pressing from the front, one touch passing with movement. Still work in progress but plenty to look forward to. Well your last statement is wrong and plenty of clubs in mid table have been there for over 5 years like Newcastle, West Ham, Southampton, Brighton, Everton, Palace, Wolves.
